STAR NAILS AND SPA NEWPORT

Went in today after refusing to go for years, ended up having an awful experience! The entire time with the drill, the lady filed down to my skin. She also ended up filing my SKIN so hard she sliced my finger- this drew blood as well! After I said something she was very rude and gave me an attidude.

Wish I could give zero stars! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND WAY OVERPRICED! Went in for dip powder manicure with tips and the guy I had did an awful job! It’s an extra $15 to have almond shaped nails which no one told me until after they did the shaping and no base coat for powder done at all! Three of my nails broke within a DAY of getting them done! Worst experience ever and Im never going back again. Employees were extremely rude and constantly on phones. It was a huge waste of $80 and I cannot believe it was $80 for a MANICURE! Save your money and go somewhere else! ANYWHERE ELSE

Very good service. We’re traveling for an event we’re attending and needed to find a nail salon. They fit us in within minutes even though they were busy. My wife and I had mani pedis. They came out great. They paid attention to details and had a lot to offer. Great service all around. We’d go again when in the area.

Rude, unprofessional, poor service, terrible manicure, manager was rude. And they overcharged and nickle and dimed every adjustment that was due to their horrible work. Avoid this place too many other places to go and get way better service and work.

They do a great job on pedicures, but the staff isn’t friendly at all, especially the receptionist. Also, they massage you with a plastic bag between their hands and your clothes. Totally bizarre.

I wish I could give zero stars. I walked in with a simple request of taking off my dip nails. When I arrived, there were two employees playing on their phones, and it took 20 seconds for me to even be acknowledged. When I was finally greeted by an employee they told me "We don't have time to do that right now". When I could CLEARLY see that they were not busy! I have heard negative things about this salon in the past, and now I see why. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Was my first mani-pedi, everything was nice, very good service and my nails look super cute:)!

My friend and I stopped in for a manicure - got an appointment for the next hour. The two men who helped us were fabulous! I believe they are Joshi and Kaden. They were so thoughtful and careful, and we loved the shoulder/neck massage! Our nails look great, too.:) Thank you for a great experience. We will return when we are in the area again.

I never leave reviews, but I feel strongly enough to take time out of my day. Coming from someone who lives here, this is the worst nail salon in Newport. The location is ideal and it’s a clean salon which is the only reason friends and I have ever gone back in hopes we would have a better experience. I’m sure some people who work here are pleasant, but I have unfortunately only had extremely rude and obnoxious women doing my nails here who rush you out and roll their eyes if you want to sit next to your girlfriend for a manicure. It ruins the whole experience that is supposed to be a treat. Would be one thing if the manicure was spectacular but it’s below average on a good day. Never again. J Nails on Broadway is much better if you’re looking for a good experience with kind people who do a great job.

I’ve been to several nail salons since moving to NP a few years ago. Star on Bellvue is the best. Reasonable prices, knowledgeable staff who ask you if you like something before they proceed. Woman who manages schedules is very nice, accommodating and helpful. Love this place would definitely recommend itover other NP salons!

I made an appointment and when I arrived they had no idea who I was or why I was there. Pedicure was fast, no callus removal, totally overpriced. Bikini wax…uneven. Overpriced. No one said goodbye when I left. Totally unprofessional. Would never go back

I have a question to management. Why you listing in your menu waxing, when you don't have specialists to do this service as well as modern wax!
I did Brazilian and that was the longest and hurtful experience I had! No professional wax for Brazilian bikini. In fact work is not clean. Even not a good service for the legs. My legs has been done with stick not with roll-on warmer.
So, no tips for that service of course.

I have been a customer of Star Nails in Newport for a few years now. I get pedicures monthly. The staff is professional and I am never disappointed. The added warm neck rub is a nice treat! They keep the premises very clean.highly recommend.
