I can’t convey in words how wonderful this complex and the staff are.
I moved in June 2022 and have not had one negative experience. Management is efficient and strives to provide everyone with a wonderful living experience. Maintenance is quick to respond to any challenges and takes care of it right then and there. I’m so lucky to have found this complex. I’m from New York and have been living in Rhode Island for a work project. I’m moving back to New York in August of 2023 and I’m so sad to leave here. If you’re considering living here, go for it. You will love every moment of it. Thank you Dowling Village team:)

I absolutely recommend this apartment community. Six months after moving out the apartment management team went above and beyond in their service commitment. My wife unknowingly had a couple FedEx packages delivered to our old address and they contacted us to have them forwarded to our correct address. Alyssa and Suzy are an invaluable asset to The Club at Dowling Village apartments and AR Building corporation.

Been here for 2 years. Loved every minute of it!
The preserve behind the complex is a wonderful addition, and staff is thoughtful and swift to respond. 10/10 recommend.

Love living here! Been here for over 2 years now and just renewed my lease again. It is close to everything and a little oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Allysa the property manager has an open door policy and is quick to answer and help in way she can with everything. And Suzie in maintenance is the best she literally has a passion for making this place great. The best place we have lived in.

This place is constantly trying to charge you for every little thing, always trying to blame people for things that are not on the leasing agreement. Management is a scam, and everyone I talk to here feels the same. They will post some reply about how you can’t make everyone happy, but look at all the one star reviews, so there are many people you are not making happy, but they will not change, because they are making money of the backs of poor unsuspecting tenants. Stay away from this place!

If you love moldy walls and the smell of sewage, this is the place for you. Incredibly rude staff and disgusting facility. So loud at night you cant sleep. Look elsewhere, this place is absolutely awful.

Put in an application and was told that because I have a cat I won’t be considered. My friend put in an application two days later and got accepted with her housecat. This apartment complex is incredibly discriminatory against felines and I am so disappointed in the treatment Mittens and I received. I highly don’t recommend living here if you support un discriminatory practices. I don’t know why they refused to consider us, but it is absolutely ridiculous how these people support some groups over others, in this case cats. Attached is a photo of mittens.

This place is absolutely terrible. They overcharged me a lot more than I agreed to in the contract and I have a cockroach infestation in my room. It is so loud at night and I cannot sleep peacefully, because of the loud parties and the bugs in my room. This place is absolutely disgusting, do not rent here.

My husband Joe and I have just moved into Dowling Village and love it. Alyssa Carvalho, the property manager, was so helpful, extremely knowledgeable and on top of things. Sallie, who is in charge of the upkeep of the bldg, is on top of things too. We feel happy to know that this building is under their care. The building is clean and everyone here appears to be content and very friendly. A very positive experience for us.

Perfect place to rent if you want heart palpitations and an expensive therapy bill. SERIOUSLY, consider moving into this property before making the choice. Over the 18 months my boyfriend and I lived here we continuously paid money to this complex for reasons that were ridiculous and created simply to scam residents. From renters insurance issues, to pet screening issues, to trash issues, to parking issues, to electric issues, to carpet issues, this place is an absolute nightmare to live in. We had issue after issue after issue. Finally, after a rent payment issue with their payment app, we were denied a transfer to a 2 bedroom unit. We were expecting a baby, and had perfect rent payment for a full year, but we’re denied suddenly from one incident. This place has absolutely no moral, no care in any form for its residents. They are simply money hungry, so so sad. Alyssa who o works in the office, the poor girl is forced to read from a sheet of responses of what she can say to residents. Responses which are cold and harsh. There is no upper management to speak to when there are issues as well. I feel so sorry for anyone moving into this complex. FINALLY, once we finally moved out in Feb 2022, we were sent a bill of 774$ for a bogus carpet replacement fee… this was after the 200$ carpet cleaning fee that everyone pays before moving out. Sadly, we didn’t have any damages to our carpet, and kept our apartment cleaner and in better condition than their hallways and common area. Think HARD before moving here.

Surprised to see hostile reviews for this charming place. The building is clean, the apartments are charming, and management has an open door policy and readily available to assist.

Went to visit family in their beautiful new (and pricey) apartment to watch a game. Sadly we couldn’t hear much over the neighbors (very thin walls). Hallways were dirty with a weird lingering odor. I feel badly that my family has paid so much to live in a brand new building. Can’t say I’ll be visiting often sadly.

My parents reside here and I cringe when I go to visit them on the weekends. The common areas are awful, carpets need cleaning, hallway walls are all scratched up, doors have scuffs, dents, and stick. For a property less then a year old it’s baffling they’ve let it get so bad looking so fast. Sad to see this and thankful my parents lease will be ending in a few months. Not at all what we anticipated from dowling village.

What a wonderful place to live in. Alyssa is awesome always on point. Place is always nice and clean as you can see in the pictures. I have nothing but nice things to say about management and this place. I could only speak for myself but some people in this building creating fake accounts to put bad reviews that are not representing this place. This is awful

Went to visit a friend - kudos on their new apartment. Decent enough inside their walls. Then I witnessed the common areas. Bahahahaha. How do they appear decrepit if this is place is pretty much brand new? I literally can't believe this place is only a year old. Hallways and carpets look like they were inspired by the Stanley Hotel. Then I asked if we could go in the pool and my buddy said it wasn't open yet. Wait.what? Summer is now over LOL. It's the size of a fish bowl and it's not completed after a year? There are plenty of other new places with finished amenities that have better caretakers - that's my opinion.
UPDATE - I just read that someone thinks there are fake profiles generating negative reviews so I’ll happily add photos from my experience at Dowling. My only point was that payment for amenities that aren’t accessible is a big downfall - as well as the poor maintenance of the common areas. Not great for my friend who thought he was getting more bang for his buck with a new spot!

I am agree with Jack C on the "water Bill" they charged the"Sewer Fee" $45/monthly, the water usage is not much but the Sewer fee you can not get away with it. Beside that the internet and cable if they have the option instead of mandantary, because some people dont need the cable like me, have not watch much kind of watse and have to paid. Everything else is great, i love it so far while staying here. Nice and quiet and safety and convience next to all shops.

My daily search for a new home lasted for about 18 months before finally coming across the listing for The Club at Dowling Village Apartments.
The application process was easy enough, and the tour shows exactly what is being offered. I've read some of the reviews stating the fees, and cost of amenities were unclear prior to move in but I had the opposite experience. A folder of documents is given during the introduction, and this information was also visible on the entrance door. I agree the application fee is high, and is not applied to the cost of the lease, but it's a personal decision to accept or decline. The tour is your opportunity to ask questions about what matters to you so use that time to clarify your concerns. Signing your lease is optional. Don't sign if you don't like the fit or you'll be unhappy.
I've been a resident here for about 3 months now, and I am very content. You're greeted to an atmosphere that is welcoming, and looks out to the rustic scenery that outlines the pond. There are comfortable sitting areas inside, and out for sharing with guests, and residents alike. My apartment is exactly what I spent so much time searching for, and fulfills my needs. It's warm, comfortable, beautiful, and most importantly feels safe. I truly love my new home! You are taken out of the city, while living in the center of a village surrounded by stores which is extremely convenient.
But there are areas for improvement in my opinion. For me personally, I've had to contend with almost daily loss of internet connection. I was unaware that I could have my own personal account associated to the bulk services we pay for with the amenities package. This allows me to have a log in needed to use my firestick. I can also add devices such as a DVR or telephone at an additional cost. That information should have been shared during the interview process. Also, my water bill is almost double the estimate given, and I am extremely frugal with my use. I don't have access to my meter to self track what they say I use either. This matters when designing a budget. Final mention about the amenities package is that the office equipment access was explained in a way that I assumed it was wireless, and more private but it's all in the main office. There's not a separate room that houses equipment for resident only use. Lastly, I wish communication was more personal, and less digital. This is a home for me, not a business. Some my have a different perspective, and this my own personal preference.
Alyssa, Sue, and Steve are a great team of people that we as tenants are lucky to have working hard for us. Thanks for all you do!
This is a wonderful place to live, and I'm grateful to be one of the tenants. Good luck to all prospective neighbors. Enjoy the view!
