The Griddle

Service was awful. This morning my husband and I went for breakfast when we were greeted by our waitress and ordered drinks, we were also ready to order food. She then told us that because the table that came in before us wasn’t ready to order food that we had to wait for them to order before she could put our order in. There was then a mix up with the drink, they brought us the wrong mimosa flight and tried to say “well we already made this one, we can put the other one in but you’d have to pay for both” once that was settled (10 minutes) we then tried to excuse ourselves to ask our waitress to order our meal. She was very rude saying “you can wait! ” While rushing by our table. Ive been a waitress and bartender over 10 years in demanding high end restaurants. It is never okay to speak to people like that. I’ve been there before with my husband prior to this and the food was okay. Nothing to write home about.

My husband and I just discovered this spot after living in Cranston for three years. It is awesome. The staff are fantastic, food is delicious and atmosphere is cozy. Leslie is one of the best in RI! We immediately connected and she remembered me on the 2nd visit. Talk about great service! It will be our breakfast spot from now on. Those who claim to have been so many times but only wait to write a bad review, shame on you.

I moved here in July and my family comes in at least once a month. Really friendly staff and the food is legit. I'm a big a corned beef hash fan. This place has the best in the area.

My eggs were rubbery, toast soggy, hash all potatoes. Eaten there before and it was very good, same owner different cooks. Made me sick.

Everything was delicious-the home made hash was superb! The restaurant was clean, bathrooms clean and our server was pleasant and attentive We will definitely be back! Great restaurant

This has been a go to place for us for the past 3-4 yrs. Sadly, the last 2 times we've gone, we've found the service to be seriously lacking. The last time we sat at the bar and it was 20 minutes before we were greeted by our server, after others who came in after us. The hostess asked our server if she had greeted us and the server said yes. The hostess looked at us and we shook our head as she had not been over- even to say she'd be a minute. The hostess went back to the little room to the left of the counter (if you're facing the counter) and spoke to her quietly. The server snapped back, loud enough for us to hear at the other end of the counter. It was clear she wasnt enjoying her job that day. We felt badly for the hostess.

They were about to go on vacation and were out of several things, which is understandable but semi frustrating.

The owner came over to say they were out of a dish but didn't apologize- which is out of character for what we have seen from her. Our server also didn't apologize for the delay. I rarely do this but I left a meager tip- we are generally very good tippers.

We will be giving this place a break and hope it returns to its normal service levels later.

It's too bad because we have enjoyed it. It's clean, the food is creative, and the owner is generally super friendly.

Always good at here. Prices are reasonable and you can get good breakfast cocktails. Specials are great and coffee flavors are spectacular.

I sat outside for 15 minutes before another customer and they served him 1st because I’m a person of color and he was white

The food was excellent as well as the service until my change was returned to me. My bill was $34.66 so I handed the waitress a $50 bill. She brought back $15.00 instead of $15.34 so I asked for my 34 cents, she replied we don't give change or have it! What do you mean you don't have change I asked and she replied the same so I said give me a dollar I'll give you your change. This is totally illegal. So for every person your waitstaff screws out of change you're reaping the rewards. I'm seriously considering calling the news station to report this. Very dissapointed.

Hidden gem in a strip plaza with excellent breakfast, homemade hash and great breakfast cocktails!

Very friendly. Great cook. Would recommend to all. I am gluten sensitive and breakfast was still great.

I’ve been there four times in the last month and a half. Great food, fast and friendly service. Good amount of food and the prices are good. Girls are very friendly. This is my go to place from now on. Also very clean.

We came and dined at The Griddle after our Troop went and placed door hangers for "Scouting for Food". Great food and service.
