The Square Peg, Warren RI

On Saturday 6/10 I took my 3 nephews ages 7,5 and 4 to your establishment for lunch. We had been there previously and they asked to go to have lunch there. I was Very disappointed by the experience. First of all, we were asked to wait in some overflow room while we waited for a table. We were the only 4 asked to do this. I wanted to leave but the boys wanted to stay so I went with it. The hostess was not very kind, then some rude waitress went in back to ask us if we wanted a drink. When we did get to our table, no silverware were brought to us. We were treated with disrespect and were later offered 1 set of silverware for 4 people. The service seemed rushed like they were annoyed by the children (who were well behaved). I do believe you had a group of racist women working that day and we will Never return to your establishment. It was disappointing since the 3 boys were looking forward to having lunch there for a second time. Some cultural sensitivity training may be needed at your establishment. Extremely Disappointed.

The food is fantastic. The service is lackluster, but whatever, the food more than makes up for that. However I simply can not stand who ever owns this place or controls the schedule. They never update their hours when they change. They were open the first day I ever came here, but every time after the website says they are open and I show up only to find a dark building with no signs of life inside.

A nice little place! And I do mean little, it seems to be rather small, but there may be more to it than I was seeing in the main dining room/bar area. The food was great and our server was attentive and friendly!

Went for a birthday lunch. The service was great, and the food was delicious. We had sandwiches/burgers. Great cocktail selections. Definitely will be back!

Great find. Super good food and staff. Crazy busy for a Wednesday for lunch but we were seated after a short wait. SAO happy to see local businesses getting the business.

You can sit and lounge, enjoying a few cocktails or you can also grab a quick appetizer and be in and out. My best friend and I's fav place as we both newly moved to Bristol/Warren area. Always 10/10 (esp. The Brussel sprouts) P. S staff is awesome.

Food service and friendliness is great. Busy location sends the message of quality. Food is a blend of classic dishes with a slight spin aimed to please. This is Food satisfaction at its best. Service gets a little less attentive as the kitchen closes and servers sit to have a final final they forget the customers are still there but the bartender will eventually get to you.

As good as a neighborhood place gets (our first visit). Had lunch on a Tuesday in March and the place was jammed. Great buzz in the entire place. Everyone enjoying themselves. Wonderful selection of tap beers. Service top shelf all around. Waited maybe 25 minutes for a table in warm, friendly dining room. Food was fabulous. Had the loaded roasted brussel sprouts for starters. Wife had the fish stew - just awesome and tasty with the right zing. I had the ahi tuna tacos and they were as good as I ever had. And I had a beer. The bill totaled $48. I'm not kidding. Great food, great prices, great atmosphere. We live an hour away on the Cape and we're going back.

The loaded sprouts and bang bang shrimp are a must. The cocktail specials are always tasty. Love this place!

Absolutely apauled at the level of disrespect and lack of service I was offered at this restaurant. Gone once and never going again. Nobody seems to care for their work and not an ounce of respect for the customer. I would discourage anyone wanting to go here!

Smaller local restaurant with a good variety of options and a nice atmosphere. I used to live close by, and decided to revisit the Square Peg when traveling through the area. It hasn't lost its touch or appeal; just as good as I remembered.

The only downside for me was that their Caesar dressing has a strong mustard element to it which is really not good for someone like me (that hates mustard!) Luckily I was able to scrape most of the dressing to the side and enjoy the salad and tasty grilled chicken still.

Really like this place but many of the items I have tried so far just come up a little short. Burgers and fish n chips not so good.

My friend and I went to square peg on a Friday afternoon around 2pm for a late lunch. If Revival across the street would open for lunch again, we would have gone there.
In the past I've had some great drinks and a decent fish taco, the atmosphere is cozy, dark and hip, they've got that going for them.
On this visit though, I was very disappointed.
All I can say is if you can't make a simple burger, you're in trouble! I even asked our server ahead of time, how they cooked their meat, specifically saying that I usually order medium, but if they overcooked it normally, I would order medium rare. She assured me that it's usually under done there, so I said medium, also adding that I like a pink center!
Got the meal (30 min later!) and the Burger was literally a grey, extremely salty hockey puck, it seemed like it was previously frozen!? The fries were cold, yet burnt on the ends and so skinny! The only edible part was the fried pickles!
My friend who ordered a salad with tuna had to share hers with me, because I was starved.it was fairly decent.
Our original server never came back to check on us (it was very busy) but sent someone else and I told her I was not paying for that food that I only took 2 bites of. She was very kind and removed my meal from the bill.
I would only return here if it was just for a drink in the future. I would rather spend a couple extra bucks for lunch at the Wharf in Warren (plus they have a huge parking lot)

I gave them 5 stars after last 3 visits but I decided took 2 stars from it because of a poor service today.
I went there with my 6 years old son for lunch and there was no table available so we sat at the bar. My son felt uncomfortable so I asked my server to give us next available table. She said yes but never came back and gave next open table to people who came after us. We stayed at the bar until we leave. We bump into my friends with two kids who came after us. They ordered foods after us and the server gave them foods.
I asked when our foods would be served. She said she would check and didn't come back to let us know it. I had to go to her to ask when our foods would be served. Then they said some excuses. I think they messed up the order. And gave us foods after taking for a while.
She didn't apologize for it.

I know they were busy because it was crowded on election day. But they didn't care young children and costumers.

After my previous three tries, I had given them 5 stars, but after today's bad service, I chose to deduct 2 points.

Our first time visiting this restaurant.
First of all, I'm puzzled as to why I didn't arrive sooner than today.
Second, I really enjoyed the interior's combination of black and a dark oak tree color.
Finally, I really enjoy the cuisine.
There were so many items on the menu that my husband and I wanted to try that it was difficult to decide what we ordered.
We selected fish and chips, bang bang shrimp, and spinach and artichoke dip.
Every meal we received was excellent.
I particularly like the Bang Bang Shrimp.
My server told me the recipe after I inquired about the bang bang sauce the chef makes.
Without a doubt, I'll give it a try at home.
I additionally desired to test Frozen pineapple cocktails next time as I couldn't have it because of my headache today.

Finally found the time to go and it was well worth it. Showed up a bit after they opened, and beat the crowd, as by the time we left the place was packed. Food and drinks were amazing, prices fair (total for 2 meals, app, 3 mixed drinks and tip around $90) considering the food and drinks (highly recommend the apple mule) were top notch. I'm generally a fan of trying new things or specials you dont normally see, so we tried the loaded Brussel sprouts, and they were amazing. I usually do not like any kind of onions, but the pickled onion strips on the plate went well with the flavors of the Brussel sprout, bacon, and goat cheese. For meals we ordered the apple prosciutto brie sandwich and the chicken queso birria tacos. Both were delicious, with the fries that came with the sandwich an unexpected hit (fluffy inside, crunchy flavorful outside). As the restaurant is pretty small, I can see why many people have told us the wait can be very long, but I would say, if you can beat the rush, or don't mind the wait, this is for sure a place worth the visit!

Good food, good drinks. The service a little slow but I didn't mind because the atmosphere is great. I would definitely recommend going. I will be returning again.
