Waites Wharf Cottage, Newport RI

We love this place! We’ve stayed here the last few years over President’s Day Weekend. We’ve been a group of 3-4 families with 7-8 kids ages 10-14.

The house was big enough for each family to have their own room (each with its own bathroom and some had their one TVs) but also enough common space. The decor and accommodations (nice big TV for watching games or shows and a good collection of games - FARKLE and Card Against Humanity) are really nice for a vacation house where you’re likely to be spending most of your time outside. Kitchen was fully stocked with glasses and stuff, big fridge, working stove etc. We made big breakfasts each day.

The location is amazing! Bars, restaurants, and shops are all walking distance. We also walked to the mansions along Bellevue, Cliff Walk, and other cultural attractions.

Can’t wait to come back!

Clean, cozy, comfortable, well stocked kitchen, great location. Weekend with 15 (8 adults and 7 kids) - we had an amazing time!

Rented Waites Wharf Cottage for wedding on Goat Island. The house was perfect for our family. Each of the 4 bedrooms had own sizable bathrooms. Living room / dining room was large with comfortable furniture. Kitchen was clean and provided all we needed.

Two cars fit in the driveway and parking passes were made available by owner just a short walk down to the wharf. That is huge in Newport where parking is not easy.

The location is excellent - walk to everything: the tourist areas North on Thames Street (north), and some great restaurants and quieter areas South on Thames. Countless restaurants within walking distance. Really did not need the car for exploring Newport.

Highly recommend. It is a spacious and convenient place to stay when in Newport. Owners left clear instructions about the house and information on Newport. Made it easy.

Waites Wharf Cottage is an exceptional Newport home located right off Historic Thames Street near many attractions! The charm of the home, cleanliness and comfort made our stay so memorable! All amenities were provided and the location is the absolute BEST! We were able to walk to all shops, restaurants and bars- especially O’Brien’s Pub across the street! We loved walking down the block to enjoy our morning coffee looking at beautiful yachts on the marina! The stunning mansions, cliff walk and ocean beaches are in close proximity- we couldn’t ask for more and can’t wait to go back! Lisa is a FABULOUS host-Thank you for the great memories!

The location is amazing! The house was immaculate. Easy walk to the bars, restaurants, shops, mansions, and wharfs. The grocery store, arcade, and a couple of ice cream shops are nearby which was so great for the kids to explore on their own in the evenings. Was able to bring our dog which was perfect. She loved people watching from the porch after our beach walks:) Each bedroom has an en suite bath which made things easier since we were a big group with a bunch of kids. And having a driveway was really convenient for unloading all of our gear. Lisa and Billy are wonderful hosts! Thank you for all the local suggestions! Am now obsessed with Mokka Coffeehouse. Cant wait to get back there!

Perfect location in town and walking distance to everything! Super clean and very family friendly and pet friendly too! The owners were great and super responsive to all of our needs. We can't wait to go back!

We had a great time at Waits Wharf Cottage where we stayed the last week of August. The house looks exactly like it does on the pictures - clean, spacious and very well kept. The communication with hosts was super easy - quick responses and great tips on local information (beaches, walks, restaurants). The neighborhood is very conveniently located and while it’s a lively neighborhood the house is very quiet! Would absolutely recommend to stay there and we look forward to staying there again!
