I lived here for almost 2 yrs (23 months) and out of the 3 apartments I've lived in Austin, will miss this one the most! I would have happily stayed with the company but unfortunately they did not have a complex in the neighborhood I was looking to move to. Hyde Park is a great area to live in, and the location of this apartment is a minute walk to the 24 hour Walgreens which was super convenient for my late nights working. The neighborhood is super walkable with tons of trees for shade which was a huge perk for my dog. Additionally it's walkable to the Triangle which has a small fenced in dog park. I had really kind neighbors and never had any issues with noise complaints in this area. There is no leasing/management staff present at the physical apartment complex which is different although it was not an issue for me. For the management team not being on site, they were very laid back, attentive, and helpful for all my needs. I did read the previous reviews about people trying to call and not being able to reach them, however I personally never tried to call because I prefer email correspondence and I never had any issues getting a quick response via email. The maintenance staff is on site though and they greeted me every morning which was always a good way to start my day. The maintenance staff was very kind, respectful, and helpful when I interacted with them. However I did not need maintenance often in my unit for the two years I lived there which was surprising as I lived in a non-renovated unit, if I recall correctly I believe I only submitted maintenance request just a few times for the communal laundry room eating my coins and one time for my AC filter. Additionally, I personally did not have any issues with pest I've seen a roach maybe 2 or 3 times in my two years there and a trail of ants once after it had rained from my sink which is not bad at all compared to the other two apartments I lived in which were newer and renovated. However the buildings at this apartment complex are separate so I can only speak to the specific building I lived in. The move-out process was also really laid-back, they let me have until the end of the day of my last day to move out which was different than the other two apartment complexes which required me to move out by noon and 3pm of my last lease day. I didn't end up needing the time, but it was nice to have that leniency. I also did not have any issues with my security deposit or feeling like I was scammed out of my security deposit, they were extremely quick to evaluate the move-out condition of my apartment and they were fully transparent on my deductions sheet. On it was exactly what I was expecting, which was my remaining utilities bill, cleaning fee (standard, mentioned in the lease contract that it would be deducted at move-out), and a small paint fee (expected as my command strips peeled off the layer of paint a few places on the walls). Overall I had a great experience living here and wanted to leave this review as I saw no recent reviews had been placed for the apartment and I felt like the current rating of the apartment was not an accurate reflection of my experience. Would highly recommend this studio apartment to anyone, especially graduate students who are looking for cheaper rent and don't mind the smaller studio space. It is farther than the apartments in North Campus and West Campus but there are two bus stops that are only a 5 and 7 minute walk away which provide various bus routes that get you to UT Campus in about 18-25 minutes. I never had an issue with the buses.
