Moved in three days ago, and my very first day was awful. It hasn't gotten much better since. Management obviously doesn't care about you, front office staff is unhelpful and rude, their policies are predatory and exploitative, and the amenities are dirty and poorly maintained. For the amount of money I was charged, I hoped for much better. The building looks nice, but the experience of renting with them is less than pleasant. I can see why the person whose lease i took over was so eager to complete the process. This place does not feel like home. Barely been here a week and already looking for other options.

I recently experienced a frustrating situation with the management at 848 Mitchell. During a routine inspection, I was the only one present in my room, and they verbally approved everything but requested that I not store items under the wash sink cupboard. To my surprise, they later penalized me for a lease violation without explanation. When I sought clarification, the front office responded rudely, offering no details and suggesting I either accept the penalty or face court. After consulting an attorney, I paid my rent for the next month. However, just two days later, I received an eviction notice during my spring break in another state. This management has proven to be biased against immigrant students, penalizing thousands with exorbitant fees. I strongly advise against leasing at 848 Mitchell and encourage everyone to vacate when their lease ends. I've already found a better property with reasonable pricing and excellent management.

I would rate less than 0 if available. These people want only money. They dont think about residents. I have stayed here for 1.5 years. They have charged me almost $4000. Mine is whole unit is 1 bed and 1bath. They keep the rules who should come to our unit.
When the inspection is going on my friend and me are playing play station in our room. They have fined me $2800. And i went and asked them reason for fine. They told me 2 people living in that room and he says its illegal. How can he say he is unauthorized person. The person who is playing with me is an lease holder and his room also fined for $1600. When there is no one in his room. How can they give fines when there is no one in his room. Simply 848 mitchell apartments wants money from mainly international students.

I suggest no one to opt this 848 mitchell apartments. R else you have to face lot of problems. They dont care you when you go to leasing office and say do what ever you want to do r else will see in the court.

The reason to fine my unit is unauthorized person. As per lease rules unauthorized person is there should charge $500 only even though they charge me $2900 its an unauthorized charge.

One day 848 mitchell apartments will feel regret for making students effect their studies and mental condition.

The complex is so dirty.there are roaches in & outside of the units.it smells.the office never picks up the phone.the elevator never works and they charge for everything.i would not recommend staying here tbh

I wish I could give it a 0 star rating. I’ve lived at 848 for 2 years and honestly would not recommend. I live in the townhouses and the first day we moved in, there was a squatter. We let management know and they didn’t do anything for hours. After multiple attempts of finding someone from management to come to our townhouse, they finally saw how bad it was. It was dirty, there was leftover food in the fridge, and the squatter’s room was so bad- I can’t even explain to you how smelly and messy it was. You’d think that they would have your place checked and clean before move in day but nope. Our move in time was 8am and didn’t move in until 2pm. We were told that we would get compensated with some gift cards but nothing. They didn’t even bother to make anything right after the whole incident. Even after two years living here, nothing has changed. The hallways are smelly and we have wood glue constantly seeping up from our floor in the townhouse. There is also no parking what so ever unless you pay for it but why is parking not included in our very high rent fees already? People are parking in fire lanes because there is just not enough space for parking. 848 does not care about their residents and will charge you for anything. Please save your money and find another place. We have video proof as well.

I lived at 848 from August of 2022 to June of 2023. The hallways were often disgusting and unkept. Maintenance was never accessible for any issues. Lots of issues with bugs and ants, despite keeping a clean apartment. MOLD found in my apartment towards the end of my stay, pictures are attached. They told me they would have a studio ready for me in 24 hours while they addressed the mold issue. The studio was not ready when moved into and had cat vomit and hair throughout the apartment, and feces in the toilet bowl. They also did not have a key ready for me, so I was unable to lock my apartment. They solved the key issue days later by giving me a MASTER KEY. Which prompted a safety issue for others and myself, as if there was a break in I would’ve been to blame. This prompted the beginning of breaking my lease with the apartment. The apartment let me out of my lease and I moved out by the end of July. Moral of the story, do not live here, it’s disgusting and they do not care about their residents.

I lived in 848 Mitchell for an year.
848 Mitchell sucks in every possible way.
The staff will suprise you with their unprofessionalism.
They charge you with fake bills while moving out. They fool residents by keeping already damaged couch by flipping it and charging @101$ per each room while moving out. They left the same damaged couch for next resident without even fixing it, so they can charge next resident as well.

The photo was taken after couple of months of me moving out. I felt suspicious and I knocked the current resident and asked him to flip the couch and check it. They left the damaged item to him.
When i disputed the fake bill, they said it's resident responsibility to check all the damaged items and report while moving in.
Elizabeth (new property manager) even said they'll charge again to current resident if he didn't check underneath the sofa during move in straight on my face.

They expertise in finding loopholes for adding false bills to the residents.

Here is another scam by them.
I made several complaints for couple of months about roaches in the common area and later in unit. Nobody shows up to fix for months. It got worse. But they added 70$ per room while moving out.

So far what i noticed with 848 was first they'll create a problem to you And they'll charge you for it even without fixing it. Because they have every right to do it. And you have no other option but to pay it.

They lack in every way but in adding false charges to the residents. I wish they had some shame to do this to residents who most of them are students.

I honestly thought replacing Selina (old property manager) might brought some good change to 848 Mitchell, But Elizabeth is carrying her legacy in worst.

Worst apartment I’ve ever seen and poor knowledge of people who are in the leasing office about the apartment

It's not as clean as images with terrible customer service. They charged me for nothing when I moved out.

Do Not Live Here ever! I would give negative stars if I could. The leasing office are just money moochers. I used to live in a 4b 4b and paid around $800 for rent. Now that I've moved out and see outside living. All my money went down the drain. I was an international student who came to the US for the first time. And this apartment does have a lot of international students who have no clue of how things work in the US. And needless to say they take every advantage of it. They stopped putting my mail in my mailbox. My bank debit card never came in. After being sent multiple times by the bank. As an international student you depend on one source of money and that was cut off. I had fac severe consequences because of that. I could not pay my fees or even buy groceries. When I went to the leasing regarding that. They said please drop a mail that you are expecting an important mail and we'll keep an eye for it. And guess what, when I did write that email. They just refused on the mail saying we don't take such requests. What is the point of living here when I dont get my mail.
They take advantage of you being an international student.

If you are an international student or anyone else too. I'd suggest you don't live here. They'll tow your car for no reason. Give you zero information as to why. They will not give you your mail. Complete maintenance requests without doing anything. Hallways smell like trash.

It only looks pretty from the outside. Inside it's just trash.
Don't live here if you want peace of mind and want to concentrate on your studies.

To Add: When I had raised a noise complaint during day time, they told me quiet hours start at 10 PM and when my other roommate called to complain about noise they immediately raised a violation and added fines against the person who was creating noise. I'm an international student and she was an American. Not sure if this is discrimination or what.

It is the ugliest thing that could have happened in these apartments, they are beautiful but they are infested with cockroaches as soon as my son moved into the place and he could not stay a single night in the place since he told me that his first night the place looked like it was out of a movie Terror There were cockroaches everywhere, even in the refrigerator. They have been trying to cancel the contract and they don't want to do it. You can't live in that place and I see students who come from other countries and have no option to rent another place, I would like have a big place to help them since it is unpleasant to be there in those apartments.
I am disappointed because I don't know what to do and whoever can help us in the apartments says that I have to take someone to take my place.but who is going to want to live with so many cockroaches?
I put cockroach poison but they can't die completely even then. I've spent so much cleaning that place but more cockroaches come out every day.

Selina doesn’t even want to listen what does tenants says. Doesn’t understand the problem and always follows the wrong guidelines.

If I could put 0 stars I definitely would. There are far better options if you’re a student looking for an off campus apartment. They do a terrible job of keeping the complex as a whole clean and safe. The complex as a whole seems to experiencing a roach infestation, and many residents I know who live here too on different floors are experiencing it in their apartment and not getting much support and aid from the apartment management, as well as my own. Trash rooms should have a biohazard sign on the doors. Hallways always look dirty and a foul smell that lingers from the trash room. Management doesn’t seem to concerned as nothing has changed in the last few months. We’ve put many work orders for pest control to help our apartment, but that hasn’t been effective. We our resorting to our own solutions and using our money to buy things to help the situation, but because these infestations effects the whole complex we don’t think fixing it only in our apartment will keep them away for long. So maybe try an apartment that’s doesn’t give you attitude when you ask them to help you… which is their job. For almost $800 you’d expect to be able to live comfortably, not in fear and discomfort.

If you like cockroaches and wanna stay along with them this is the best place. They will not respond to any complaints. More than 100 cockroaches in a single unit and still they ignoring.

Do not live here. Save yourself the trouble (and the money) and live somewhere else. This place is disgustingly filthy, and truly unsafe. All the reviews about this place are right, this place is beyond terrible. For starters, we have had an infestation of ROACHES in our apartment for going on two months now, and what has 848 done about it? NOTHING. All I have received is a whole bunch of attitude from management. It has gotten to a point where I am scared to sleep in my own room. There is NO reason why I am paying a full months rent to live with ROACHES. I have also spoken to a couple of my friends that live here and they told me they have been dealing with roaches as well and 848 isn't being of any assistance to them either. I'm sure there are countless other people here having the same issue.
The hallways are always FILTHY and smell like trash. The floors are always stained, and there is always dog droppings on the floors.
The parking garage is extremely DANGEROUS. The corners are tight and they lack mirrors on most floors that are supposed to give you a clear view of cars that are coming around the corners. Last December, my car was involved in a hit and run in its parking spot while I was in my apartment. My car was totaled. I went to management to see if they could watch the cameras to give me any information on who hit my car, but all I was received from them was a NASTY attitude and them saying they have no cameras in the parking garage. This apartment complex does not car about safety, if something happens to you or your car in the parking garage they will not be of any help, all they will do is be RUDE and get an attitude with you as if you're the one at fault. To make matters worse, there is always trash all over the parking garage that hardly ever gets cleaned up. My car has also gotten towed from here, and I LIVE here. Make it make sense.
All in all, this place is bottom of the barrel and I would advise you not to stay here. However, if you want to live in a place where management is rude and does not care about you, your health, or your wellbeing, then this is definitely the place for you!

“One star is too much! The building have very dirty floors, with litter in the parking lot. The apartments have a very peculiar door lock; two out of four people are having trouble with their keys. There are roaches in the kitchen. We had to perform a deep cleaning in the rooms; I can’t believe how filthy the carpet was. In the end, we were able to clean everything inside, but the building management needs to improve the cleanliness in the hallways and common areas. Please take action! ”

I have never in my entire life seen a cockroach infestation THIS bad. It is in an absolutely unliveable state. Arrived to an apartment full of dust and roaches.looking to lawyer up and have the contract ended ASAP and be reimbursed for all my money and compensated for now having to be homeless. DO NOT SIGN HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!
