We have not been impressed. After 4 different service calls to finally get the generator hooked up and working all due to poor installation, our lights went out and the generator came on immediately but then shut down right away. When our street power came back on half our breaker box was blown. They came back and it appears they had a worthless electrician who did not ground the electrical wires to our home so now we have to yet wait for another appointment to try and get it working. This has been going on for way too long. It should not be that hard to install a generator properly if that is the only business you do. WOW. I am not hopeful at this point it will ever work. Hope they prove me wrong.

On time and a great group of trades. The project manager did a very good job of keeping me informed. I am very pleased with the product and the install.

I wish I could give 6 stars to A&A GenPro. When I decided I wanted a whole-home generator I weighed my options and took several bids before deciding to go with A&A GenPro. From the initial appointment with Andrew until the final walkthrough with Mike, everything was smooth. Everyone knows their job very well and took the time to explain every step to me. We looked at both a Generac & Cummins.
Great staff that took the time to completely explain the process, mechanics, etc. Ultimately we simply felt Cummins was a better product, as well as GenPro's staff working hard to educate fully vs.just sell another unit.
We have tested it several times with no issues. Much quieter than we expected; we cannot hear it inside our house, nor have any neighbors griped during its weekly cycle that runs automatically.
It required a decent amount of digging to run the cables/lines, so truly the only item we had to complete after was tidying up the landscape a bit.
We'd 100% recommend.

A&A GenPro did a fantastic job installing our generator. Techs were super friendly and performed a tutorial once installed.

Initial installation took one day, crew was very friendly and answered my questions during install; all was great. We were very excited to get a new unit. The unit is very nice, great look, very quiet. The unit ran great for 10.5 hours then stopped entirely. After entering in a ticket to get it serviced, the team, understandably went through a series of trials to find the issue, using a trial-and-error approach. This process took nearly two months. Every time they visited, they would have to order additional parts which were a week out. Initial issues stemmed from not sealing the box correctly during installation and moisture entered the box. Then during repairs wires were not reinstalled correctly, burning out more control boards, causing more downtime, and requiring more parts ordering. Ultimately they decided to replace the entire ATS and were able to bring the unit back online at, I'm sure, considerable expense to them. I'd suggest you buy the extended 10-year warranty as we have.

From my perspective, their on-hand parts inventory was insufficient. Ashton did an excellent job of communicating and ultimately fixing the unit. He also contacted me about this review to let me know they had taken my feedback and what they learned from the experience to adjust their processes, which is all I hoped to accomplish through this review.

I will continue to use them as the service provider, but I was very disappointed 1) that the unit failed very early on from faulty installation and 2) the process to get it fixed took months, literally. Perhaps I would not be so bothered if I'd had the unit for years but it was new within weeks. The company did apologize for the inconvenience and the delay, stating it was regrettable.

I look forward to providing a more favorable review on future service opportunities if warranted.

A&A GenPro Best in Houston/Galveston Area

Once the decision was made to buy a standby generator for our home, I did extensive research to figure out which brand of generator was the best and most reliable. Reliable being the most important me. During hurricane Ike, we were out of power for 2 weeks. After reading articles and searching the internet ad nauseam, Cummins was the clear winner, by far.

One of the things I learned during my research was to NOT buy a standby generator from a big box store, or facility that does not install and provide regular service. As cool as Amazon is; they're not coming out at midnight in the middle of a storm to fix your generator. Besides, you may save just a few dollars on the initial purchase, but you will lose money on the installation and service. The initial cost ends up the same, but you don't get service support.

Now to find the best Cummins dealer in the Houston/Galveston area. More research led me to A&A GenPro in Houston. To get right to it, these are very fine people that really know their business. I first contacted Lisa at the office who was very nice and knowledgeable. She set me up with an appointment to meet at my home with Andrew. He arrived at exactly the time specified. Andrew was one of the best salespersons I have ever met. He never tried to sell me a generator or talk my ear off. Instead, Andrew asked questions and listened to me. Once I had decided on the model of generator, we discussed the location for the placement, line routes, size of the cement slab and the permitting process with the city. A&A GenPro takes care of all that stuff. As a matter of fact, the only obligation I had was to write a check.

The installation crews always showed up on time or early. The plumbing crew even showed up in the rain to install the gas line. They were all very personable and dedicated to their job. Each trade took the time to explain what they were doing, and how it related to the generator. On the final day, a company inspector arrived and did a final systems check of the generator; started it and went over, in detail, how to operate and test the system. Again, this guy was cut from the same cloth as the other representatives. Professional, kind and very knowledgeable.

This was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. On time and on budget. Andrew was not only my salesperson, but my contact person with the company as well. Send him a text, email or call him on the phone and you get a response almost immediately. I cannot recommend A&A GenPro highly enough. They are kind, professional, knowledgeable and always do what they promise.

Andrew was very professional in helping select and size the generator we needed and in designing its optimum location. His communication and updates throughout the installation process was outstanding. Mike's startup & commissioning and orientation was top notch as well. I highly recommend A&A Gen Pro.

The installation was done in one day despite the hard digging due to tree roots. My lawn was left in good condition and all my sprinkles were left intact and fully operational. I lost power for a couple of hours and the generator came on line and turned off just like I was told by the installer.
It was worth the price and A & A GenPro did a great job with the installation. I definitely recommend this company for your generator installations. They are very professional and very competitive on prices.

Dealing with A & A GenPro was a very personal and pleasant experience. They provided exactly the product required to meet our requirements, not too large, not too small and worked with us to place the generator away from the house, close to the to the gas meter, reducing installation cost and noise close to the bedroom. At the same time they replaced, at our request, our breaker box as it had been there since 1959!
All required permits, drawings and inspections were provided as well as scheduling with the City and Centerpoint (electric and natural gas).
Installation was completed in ONE DAY! Took a day for the final inspections then the unit was functional.
Our side of the street in Spring Branch always has power outages, sometimes up to eight hours.
NO MORE EIGHTEEN DAY OUTAGES AS DURING HURRICANE IKE! NO MORE HOARDING GAS TO FUEL THE SMALL GENERATOR EVERY FEW HOURS!
Daily cost of operation is so much less than the cost of lodging, not to mention the lost food in the refrigerator and freezer! And what to do with the pets!
Best money we ever spent!

GenPro did a great job! Their pricing was competitive, they showed up on time and took the time they needed to do a quality installation. They also gave me a thorough demo of my new generator. Some of my sod got a little messed up, and they fixed that up as well. Definitely would recommend this company and do business with them again!
