Academy Sports + Outdoors, San Antonio TX

Looking for women's hiking boots or shoes. Men's selection is HUGE.womens, not so much. I had like 8 pairs to choose from and the one I liked didn't have my size. (9). My boyfriend found a pair no problem. I did find a good pair of running shoes tho, and checkout lady was pleasant. Just wish they would expand their selection on a few things.

Friendly staff always asking if I need help with anything and never long lines for the amount of people in there.

Missed out on a $3,000 sale because the employees here are 100% incompetent and can’t answer their phone. I’ll try somewhere else to buy my OldTown sportsman powered by Minn Kota and will 100% boycott all Academies.

My visit to sports academy was super. The ladies working customer service were very friendly, courteous and helpful.

Standard Academy gear, and clean throughout the store.but the restroom reeked of urine. TP on the floor and wet to boot. Such a health hazard.

Fantastic sales people in the shoe department. Andrew was awesome helping us find the perfect pair of running shoes.

No registers were open. Then they finally opened 1. I bought a fishing license stood at the counter for almost 10 minutes before somebody walked over to get me my license. There were 8 to 10 employees just walking around I assume nobody knew what to do and no manager took care of the problem worst trip ever to this store normally I have great service.

Today at 9am I was greeted at the door with a smile, I was looking to purchase a band for my Fitbit, I brought in my Fitbit fir correct product. I was directed to return desk and was told Academy would just replace product. This is where it was disappointing. The young lady at the return desk treated me as if I was a bother and wasting her time.

Great variety of youth merchandise. I choose this location over the one closer because they're always in stock and have better selection.

Lots of parking. Clean store and helpful associates. Large variety of products. Customer service was friendly and fast.

Don't expect to see anyone who will be able to help you, minus the people in the front guarding the door. There isn't a rhythm or reason to where some items are at, making it frustrating to find things. The area thats the worst for me is the shoes. Shoes aren't organized, sizes are hard to find and no one is there to help. The plus side of Academy is the pieces are decent. So if you can navigate it, then you probably will be okay with it.

Went to get my son's uniform shirts there and it's a great place to go for what you need to get for the great out doors

I asked a lady to call a other store to check if other academy's with more backpacks and she said rudely no sorry I need a manager and i cant help you (never again should I go with such awfull service)

Day I came in store was not fully stock spoting good aisle merchandise on floor a hazard to customers 2 cashiers long line could be better

The gun sells guy was very helpful and fast and a great Sense of humor thanks for your help.but for the Managers who walk your gun to the front they have NO SENCE OF HUMOR AT ALL. ALSO NO TALKING ON THE WAY TO PAY

Huge place but asked for some help to find a isle and this guy said he would help turned around, must of got off because I was waiting for 30 mins.

There's nothing fancy about Academy, just a huge selection of sporting goods at great prices. The selection of athletic shoes is probably the largest, and the pricing on those is probably unbeatable.

Pricy, they do have a lot. I would give more stars if it wasn't for the staff being a little unfriendly.

Fairly large sporting goods store. Good prices on some items, you can get deals if you shop smart. On my visit I found it difficult to find an employee to answer questions, not sure if that is the norm or just a bad day.

It is an ok store, I couldn’t find what I was looking for, I will order from Amazon instead. They have a little of everything, from sports accessories to hunting supplies. Prices are ok.
