Academy Sports + Outdoors, Brownsville TX

This academy is the worst when it comes to checking out. The last three times I've been there I've waited at least 20 to 30 minutes in line to check out.

Lots of people waiting to check out, and only two registers open. I guess they are doing that so you can have some extra minutes of impulse shopping.

Found what I needed. Sales people very helpful.

Went to buy rod and reel and some other fishing supplies. But they were out of stock of everything that i needed. Lots of shelves for empty out of stock on a lot of things

Went in to purchase a rifle, shotgun, and some shells. I signed in like they ask you to do so, I waited for 30 minutes just to get attended. The associate at the counter was rude and was not knowledgeable on the inventory that they carry. Went to Bass Pro Shop and they Priced matched Accdemy price and got my new rifle and shotgun.

The absolute best Academy that I have ever been to. All of the employees that we delta with were the most wonderful and helpful ever. I left a review for Academy that they should clone this store, as it is the model to go by!

One of my all time favorite places to shop since academy used to be a surplus store. Only problem is that it's becoming more and more like Walmart. Nobody knows anything, managers are never around and when they see you coming, they disappear. If I could work there, I'd put my brand of customer service.

Store has a wide range of outdoor and exercise items to buy, they sell good athletic shoes too. Customer service is subpar here but most of the time it's okay.

Their still charging for bags and to top it off they charged me twice for one item I purchased, had to go back in and dispute it, careful when you go there

Yes, it's expensive. But where else are you going to find a sweatshirt with your school logo? And on sale, when you were not looking for it? Needless to say, I own said sweatshirt now.

All the staff at this store are very friendly. The guys at the fishing counter were very knowledgeable about the area's fishing.

Loved it went with my friends to buy a bike grate service great attention the staff helped us out right away and we left with a bike that same day

As always, they have pretty much anything you need in sporting goods but as far as checking out, well that's a different story. The cashiers are clueless and there's always only 1 or 2 registers open at any given time. They should have a self checkout. That would help out alot. I love the store but customer service is lacking and that goes for pretty much all the Academy Sports Store I have visited.

Extremely courteous attendants at the Sports Department, especially Armando at the guns and ammunition department.

It's Academy Sports and Outdoors what more can you ask for. They always stay on top of keeping good business, helpful for assistance and friendly service. Not to mention the products are always quality and very innovative in making the best out of anything you put your hands are mind to do.

I called over the phone to see if an item was available. The correct department found the item and set it apart for me to pickup at the customer desk. Was very helpful

Good place to visit and get everything you might need for hunting or any sport.prices are expensives but quality of product is good enough. Parking es enough and hosttes are very friendly and kind. I have received a very good support even if I dont get nothing from there¡¡¡.
