Doctor who performed my surgery does not take insurance, which I didn’t know until after the EMERGENCY surgery. Making payments has been a NIGHTMARE! This is because the payments are not done through the hospital portal it’s done either automatic withdrawal or you send in a check every month. I have not received an updated statement since July even though I am paying every month. The company I have to call takes weeks to call back if they even do. If you can use a different surgeon for your surgery do it. This has been a headache for months.

The medical care provided was wonderful, however that is where the wonderful ends and TERRIBLE begins. First of all, the office visit was in a building where 3 of 4 elevators were broken and having had hip surgery stairs were not an option. There are at least 10 other practices in this building so getting to the elevator was a hot mess - no social distancing and plenty of people. In the waiting area, everyone and their entire extended family was there. There was socially distanced waiting outside in the hall in a narrow, dark, dingy hallway where there were many other people waiting for their appointments at other practices. The office staff is completely incompetent. I CANNOT recommend this practice to anyone. South Texas Bone and Joint is the place you want to go.
