After months of waiting I cancelled my appointment because they wanted my credit card on file. Apparently it's a new system that they require due to no show patients. First of all, all doctors charge a no show fee, but never have I've been asked to have my card on file. I stated that I was not comfortable doing that and that there was no way that I would cancel, since it was going to be an important visit for me, possible lupus diagnosis. Lady I spoke to said " Well we cannot see you with out your credit card on file" So I said "Are you telling me that money is more important than people's health? " and her reply was "Well we do need a card on file and of you want to go with another doctor, go ahead" WOW! I don't deserve a doctor like that.

I have been coming to see Dr. Pop-Moody for a couple of years now. She is a very compassionate doctor and takes her time with all her patients. Yes, you will have a wait, but seriously I have not been to any doctors office where there isn't a wait. Her pharmacy is a definitely a plus! Saves me a trip and I get my prescriptions right away. Pharmacy staff is very friendly.

First appointment and you wait and wait. Seems their time is more valuable than yours. I’m on time

No star would be appropriate, but people deserve to know. When I got the referral to see a rheumatologist I thought it was my saving grace, however, I was wrong. Initial appointment was basic, had the opportunity to discuss some of the issues I was having. Got prescribed Plaquenil/Hydroxychloroquine. This medication was given high regards on safety, and overall success to treat PSA. After a few weeks I started having what I considered was adverse effects to the medication, so I contacted the pharmacy to see if it was common, the dose needed to be modified, or maybe another medication would be better. I told them I was experiencing leg cramps, which is not associated with the condition I have, and other side effects. The pharmacy said they would contact the doctor, when they got back to me, drink more water, your must be dehydrated. I was cut off while trying to express other concerns, and the response was if you don't feel comfortable don't take it. No discussion on lowering the dose, or trying a new medication, wait till your next appointment, like I had not been waiting to see a Rheumatologist long enough. Still full of hope, I indeed waited. The next dr.appt.prescribe the same medication, Snodgrass stated they were "normal", that this was one of the safest DMARD's, safe for pregnancy even and that it might have been caused by dehydration, so desperate, I tried it again. At this point I was pretty desperate for some results and hoping to not living with pain. The medication they gave me at a lower dose was able to tolerate it more, but exacerbated my psoriasis, was indeed causing the enthethsis. In addition, they never educated me on the fact that this medication is supposed to have an eye exam done prior to prescription and continuously monitored. In the last 9 months no labs have ever been taking at this office to check inflammation markers, one ultra sound, which is in the office and you pay in the office, no x rays on complaint of joint issues. Today was my last appointment with this clinic, this NP is worthless, got upset because my PCP is prescribing medications that they should have prescribed, the medication they prescribe is known for making psoriasis worse. I ask for pain relief ointment and she was prescribing medication for psoriasis. How little our attention span is. She said that since PCP prescribed me Otezla, they would also have to prescribe me the ointment for the psoriasis, which I did not even ask for. So they want to get paid for nothing, have to ask for my own x rays, something just isn't right, with the medical community in Corpus Christi. Every six months, now with more concerns than my first appointment, seemed like she wanted me to beg for her help, you got the wrong one for that, do your job. Don't get your feelings hurt when someone else does it for you and act like it is the patient's fault. Come back if it gets to difficult for you and your PCP, this is compassion from Specialists down here. Self-righteousness.

I would give it ZERO STARS if possible. Absolutely unprofessional and untrustworthy staff, specifically MONICA, and the office manager Kathy Rock. As for Dr Pop-Moody, apparently she lets her office staff make decisions on “patient/doctor relationship”. For starters the office REQUIRES a “$100.00 DEPOSIT” in case you no show. Additionally, they expect you to either bring a check or leave your debit card on file, so they can “protect themselves”. I endured no less than TWENTY phone calls harassing and threatening me reference this deposit. Eventually I acquiesced, and the SAME DAY I confirmed the appointment and paid the DEPOSIT, the office manager went OUT OF HER WAY to ask the doctor to refuse to see me. “To decline the Tricare referral”.
I was referred to this office through Community Care on NAS Corpus Christi. I MOST DEFINITELY will campaign to have this provider REMOVED from critical community care. The LUXURY of an insurance contract is NOT so the front office can blackmail, harass, strong-arm, and bully.
I cannot comment on Dr Pop-Moody herself, only that she is obviously a weak, and uncaring physician who allows her front office staff to lose business and contracts. Her office is not worthy of the Tricare referral business, are is clearly in the business to secure your DEPOSIT money, FIRST AND FOREMOST, above all else, at any cost. When one advocates for themself, the obvious insecurity of ignorant and uneducated minimum wage, intellect, and ability rears it’s ugly and very unprofessional head.
Feel free to leave your debit card information with this unethical, untrustworthy, and unprofessional front office. When you begin to notice charges you didn’t make, I suggest you remember this review.

If I could have scored lower, I would have.
Set up an appointment, waited a month.filled out a 5 page information sheet, got to the place, after circling 3 times because of confusing parking.got there 10 minutes late just to be told I would have to reschedule! The receptionist had a smirk on her face and didn’t even bat an eye when I explained my confusion of the crazy parking situation.
Corpus has very limited choices of RA physicians and the lack of compassion for a 10 minute late new patient is sad!
We are left with physicians who truly see us only as a number.
I am disappointed: (

Dr. Pop-Moody is the most amazing doctor, but getting prescription refills is a nightmare! I have been with her since 2001, and she was truly instrumental in leading a team of 4 doctors who saved my life in 2001! That being said, this week her office has been contacted Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and twice on Thursday for 2 prescription refills. Now it’s Friday and still no meds! This is ridiculous! And I can’t get them over the weekend!

I stopped going there last year. Dr is great. However I only get to see her when I go. A couple years ago I saw 3 different NP. They don't last.
