Adriatica Women's Health, McKinney TX

We were looking forward to our 1st visit to this facility which turned out to be a nightmare. My wife is currently 24 weeks pregnant. We went to Ultrasound at 11: 30 AM, the exact time it was scheduled. The technician did not give much feedback about the baby in our anatomical scan, so I asked, “How is everything? Length of the baby? Expected date? Are all body parts where they are supposed to be? My wife gets paranoid at these things for some reason. She did the same thing with our 2 prior boys. She hastily replied, we don’t talk about these things except stomach and legs now a days. ” I was little baffled by that answer because all our prior ultrasound few months back to us was very exciting event. Adriatica technician took very little time but came to huge conclusion that I later found out. ” Nervous and with lot of pain, we went to the lobby and waited for almost an hour and half. Now after seeing only 1 or 2 patients left in the lobby and everybody who came after us left, I went to the reception desk to ask how much longer we had to wait. She said they are sanitizing our room. Are you serious? Finally, we went to Doctor Hannah Ashitey. She was nice to begin with. She asked us where we are from etc. After some basis talks, I asked her how did the scan looked? She told us they could not see baby’s hand. My entire body went cold very quick. I could see my wife's helpless face. The world changed for us in a fraction of a second. Why us? We have only done good things to everyone etc. “One hand? ”, I asked. Both hands she replied promptly. I asked her could we do the scan again to be sure? She said no, we must go to the specialist, and they will call within two weeks. I thought, are you serious for such important matter? I tried showing her the picture of the previous scan with a different provider to see if that could help her but she said she can’t look at those. After that, everything she said pierced our ears and we were shaken. As I was coming home, I called a ultrasound place and tried taking an appointment for 2nd opinion but the closest availability was next day morning so I took that appointment. I had done ultrasound there in early stage of her pregnancy. We both couldn’t sleep all night. My wife even had suicidal thoughts. I was also very depressed, but I knew I had to be strong for her so I showed no frustrations in front of her. I consoled her and told her everything will be okay when I knew it wasn't. How can certified technician make such huge error. Perhaps, she took 2nd opinion before she derived to such huge conclusions. That perhaps answered our huge wait in the lobby. Afterall, it was a detailed anatomical ultrasound. I spent all night in laptop searching for information. Perhaps searching for new hope. The more I read, more confirmed I got. I told my wife, let us both pray that scan is wrong but that morning seemed ages to come. Finally, in the morning, we went to the new Ultrasound place. The technician was super nice. I never told her what happened the prior day, thinking she would not want to take responsibility and might deny my visit. During the scan, I told her how did not see the hands. This wonder lady took a lot of time zooming that area in 4D scan and assured us that both beautiful hands were there. By grace of god, she was playing with both of her hands. We looked at those hands for a long time. It was 35 minutes scan. She was perfect as she was supposed to be. It was not Dr Ashitey’ fault about the finding and I would blame it totally on negligent technician who I think should be fired. But Dr Ashitey could have done her due diligence before she broke such huge news to us. I was hoping her medical school at least taught her those basics. This news may not mean much to them, but it means to the world to us. My wife could have made the wrong decision and ended her life. Who would have been responsible for that? I am so disgusted and after one week, no one has called us for follow-up which proves that they didn't care when this bogus claim if true would have shattered our life forever.

Love love love Adriatica! The office is gorgeous and clean, and the staff are all so friendly! Each provider I’ve had has been very friendly and kind and knowledgeable, and they listen to my concerns. I’m sticking with them for sure!

I truly recommend this place for women’s care and pregnancy/birth care. The midwives and doctors are very attentive and truly care about you. My midwife Breona Black is amazing and she really advocates for poc women and black women in a way that I’ve not seen in any healthcare space. I highly recommend her as a provider and patient advocate!

I’ve been going to Adriatica since 2017. I started with Dr. Banks and she was my absolute favorite! She’s extremely knowledgeable with great bedside manners. Some appointment times took a little longer to start, and I did find myself bothered. However, I began to understand how timeliness is challenged once I became pregnant and that gave me patience for future appointments. Pregnancy brings so many unexpected occurrences and emergencies. I think that’s what people fail to consider when thinking about appointments with OBGYNs. I had three high risk pregnancies with unforeseen circumstances. I appreciate Adriatica for their attentiveness to my immediate needs. Dr. Banks was my provider for our first two pregnancies and I was bummed to discover she was providing limited maternity services at the time of pregnancy for our third child so we decided to give Dr. McCloud a try.

I had mixed feelings about Dr McCloud initially, but she proved me wrong. She is amazing! Dr. McCloud is personable, knowledgeable, and truly cares. I had severe complications postpartum and she was with me every step of the way; she made sure I remained calm, had the right people looking out for me in her absence, and made calls to follow up on my well-being. I am very critical and extremely picky when it comes to my healthcare needs, yet I’m still here seven years later after three pregnancies. Adriatica is all about patient care and, for these reasons and more, I trust them and recommend Adriatica to all.

Special thanks to Mrs. Renee (OB Nurse), Tameka (Dr. Banks’ assistant), Dr. Wajahat, Jennifer (the NP), Dr. McCloud’s assistant, their ultrasound technicians, and the best needle poker ever (I can’t recall her name, but everyone knows who she is)! These ladies contribute to my positive experiences as well.

On another note, I think some expressions of dissatisfaction can be eliminated if Adriatica provides some sort of disclaimer regarding potential for late starting appointments in advance. It sets expectations for patients who are then better able to plan their day.

The staff at Adriatica is ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL. I highly recommend this clinical team for any of your OB/GYN needs. They are informative, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable. If I could give 10 stars I would. Thanks for all you do!

I was early to my appointment and got into a room 23 minutes after the appointment time. I was told the doctor was with one patient, there was a patient in front of me, and then I’ll be seen. I had an appt with Dr. McCloud- her bedside manner was terrible. I about walked out mid appointment because I was struggling to communicate my concerns with her without being cut off and dismissed. She is belittling, did not listen to concerns, and was quick to tell me other specialists were wrong my whole life (they’re not and these diagnosis were done by specialists that are outside the scope of an OBGYN). Her excerpt online said “I feel that ALL women should have a healthcare provider that listens to them, understands their needs, ” and she provided NONE of that. The rest of the staff was extremely friendly. EDIT TO ADD: the office commented below on being unable to reach me. They called one time during work hours and I’ve called back multiple times with no response.

Edit: funny response from them, telling me to “give a call”. My wife lost so much time trying to get hold of anyone. They also never reply to voicemails. Avoid this place. Also, they just out of the blue charged again our insurance a ludicrous amount of money for something that had already been charged months ago. Clowns.

Impressive how inefficient and absurd a health related company can get. They are constantly trying to rip us off months after failing miserably on what they had to do. Customer service is terrible, and trying to fix up their mess is a colossal waste of time and money. Also, don’t expect any common sense from the “professionals” at this facility. This place was probably put together just in order to milk insurance companies with the cheapest labor they could get.

Front desk staff is very unprofessional.
They cancel the appointments right 15mins before. Doctors are not available even tho we scheduled appointment 2months ahead. They keep pushing the appointment with doctor.

They never follow up or check in on you. They don’t call you back when you try to get in touch. They also don’t notify you of any remaining balances until you get a late notice. Not patient oriented

Been going to Adriatica for last 5 years and I would never go to any other facility ever. Very prompt staff and very experienced Gynaecologist.

This place is a pain to deal with for so many reasons— they are nearly impossible to get a hold of in a timely manner, their billing department is extremely rude, their scheduling department is extremely rude, etc.

They denied a prescription refill request from my pharmacy, and now I can’t get in touch with anyone in their office to find out why… and I am on my last pill. Ridiculous. Why is there no communication?

It is clear to me that the employees of this facility are not happy, and unfortunately, it is evident in their customer service.

Love the atmosphere and the women who work here. They have always made me feel welcome. Liz Marley is amazing and the with my midwife who helped bring our firstborn into this world and can't wait for her to be there for our second next year.

Love this place! The front desk ladies and personable and always a pleasure to see! I have never had a bad experience with anyone on staff here. I am so happy with Josie! She just delivered my baby and she’s very attentive and listens and cares. Definitely would recommend!

I recently had worst experience of my life with Dr. Christi Kidd when I visited her recently for my 2 weeks post-surgery visit.

I realized how one person (Dr. Christi Kidd) ruins the reputation of whole organization, the way she treats patients is horrible behind the close door.

She was frustrated why I was scheduled with her at first place I overheard her talking to MA that why she needs to see me she made me wait 40 minutes after my scheduled time with my newborn waiting outside with my husband and I told MA I cannot leave him like this for longer.
After walking into the room, she stared me and asked me why I am here, never checked my incision and asked me I should go to ophthalmologist instead of coming to Adriatica and for every problem I told her she just gave me one answer rudely " I DONT KNOW! I DONT KNOW! IS THAT IT? " I was never checked, she left my visit incomplete and only focused on letting me know that I was not supposed to be scheduled with her.

I couldn't believe this was actually happening and any Dr can talk like this, it was so shocking and humiliating.

All my pregnancy visits were with Dr Wajahat, and had good experience with Adriatica, met Dr Mccloud once, very kind and professional.

Dr. Christi Kidd attitude was surprising, and I will always remember her as a bad medical experience of my life and as a bad example of medical professional.

Decent people working here - everyone is nice and knowledgeable. The facility itself is relatively clean and well-maintained, if a little dated.

HOWEVER, the last few times we’ve been here for our scheduled appointments, we’ve had to wait anywhere from 30-60 minutes just to be seen. The wait for the midwife, nurses, technicians, etc.add even more time to what should be a relatively short visit.

I would definitely not recommend this place.

Liz Marley was our midwife and she dropped the ball. During delivery she would disappear for 10-15 minutes every 2-3 minutes. Shout out to the nurse at Baylor though, handling her job for her.

Dr. Michon McCloud from Adriatica ended up coming in to do an emergency C-section. We were in the hospital for 5 days after and she nor her staff followed up with my wife. My wife had some issues post surgery that she herself had to complain about to get Dr. McCloud's office to get her assistant to give a call. Dr. McCloud a complete no show.

Based on Liz's recommendation to deliver early, we are now having inguinal hernia surgery for our child. Had she given us all the information, we would've waited maybe 4-7 days and we would not be going through this today.

I have seen doctors at this office for several years and I always feel comfortable and heard. Every single person here is thorough and so sweet. Highly recommend.

I've been seeing Dr. Halderman for many years, even way back when she was over by Medical City Drive. I had an appt today, it was a reschedule from last month that they cancelled because she had to go into delivery. Understandable. So when I rescheduled, I opted for the next available with whoever. So they scheduled me with Christi Kidd. My appt was for today, 8/01/23 @ 2: 10pm. They took me back quick but I sat there in the gown for over an hour. When I looked at the time, it was 3: 28pm. I got dressed and walked out. The back ofc girl, Alana, was very sweet. I told her it's not her fault and that it's a shame that if I were 10 minutes late for my appt, I'd be rescheduled, but a doctor makes you over an hour and only spend 5 minutes with you and that's supposed to be ok? No, it's not ok.

Anyway, I recvd a call back about the sample I left, but no apology from Christi Kidd. I think it's time to look for a new GYN. I love Dr. Halderman, you just have to schedule a year in advance with her.

If you want a great doctor, but like to experience long wait times call, waiting 4 months for an appointment, having to re-schedule the appointment due to an injury, then waiting 5 more months for the re-schedule only for it to be re-scheduled on you the 2 weeks before, then the new appointment not being with the doctor, then you trying and trying and you can't get ahold of their office. This is the place for you.

Labeena Wajahat is very professional and very respectful. She is very supportive and knowledgeable. I am definitely going to refer my friends. 5 star service.
