***When working in a condominium complex, please have respect for the community, it's rules, and all it's residents***

I am a resident in a condominium complex where this company was serving a unit. Air Advantage disregarded the rules of the community by parking their truck along with their 20 foot trailer across four parking spots (see images).

A few residents sent me texts, so I sat outside waiting for them to come out to ask them to move their truck to the side of the street.

When the gentleman arrived, he completely ignored me and my requests for him to move, until I started taking photos of his truck and how it was parked.

What upset him about the photos was that he was in some of them (would probably upset me, too). This was not purposeful. My intention was to find out what company he worked for and which resident he was doing work for (he would not tell me either).

The Air Advantage employee finally moved his car to the street after aggressive talk from both of us towards one another (though he blocked the car he parked behind from being able to get out because he got within inches of their bumper). I was shaking with anger due to his lack of any respect for anyone but himself.

Eventually, I was able to talk with the owner of the unit, who was a very standup individual. She was very empathetic towards the situation, apologized, and took responsibility for Air Advantage's belligerence towards this encounter and the lack of respect they had for her neighbors.

Vendors and Contractors should not act like they 'own the place' and disrespect the community and it's rules when they come to do repair work. Do you work in designated areas, don't prop open gates, and don't take up four parking spots when you can park on the street and walk 20 more feet.

Installed a new AC unit in November 2019. At time of install, I was told one year of warranty. The last 2 months, I've had numerous issues and he now tells me that its one year parts but only 3 months labor since its commercial. This was never made clear to me. He's refusing to fix and he's not responding. I now called other established companies and they told me that they offer for residential 2 year labor and 10 year warranty and for commercial, one year labor and 2 years parts for commercial. Terrible experience. Lesson learnt for me to go with an established company that have a proper office and been in operation for years rather than a guy with a truck and also to ask for a quote in writing that clearly documents the warranty for parts and labor. Its not it was cheaper. From now, I will only go with established companies that have proper office with large staff and not just one man show who have no assets to go after if I have to pursue legal options. There are thousands of such guys that have a HVAC logo on trucks and my mistake in trusting them. Like everything in life, hard lesson in life. I will only pick up very well established companies and get everything in writing before starting work.

Check the photos the install. When the new installer came to fix the bad install, he showed me that a tile border was used instead of a metal. Notice also the rusted pan. After paying $3500 for a AC change, he skimped on a $30 pan. When asked, he said its extra cost. Reminds me Warrent Buffet saying "Honesty is a expensive gift. Don't expect from cheap people"

So if someone is still wanting to use for new install, I would get in writing and check with other established companies. I'm now using a company that offers "2 yr labor + 10 year parts" on Residential and "1 year labor + 5 year Commercial" They gave in writing before I installed the new furnaces. No issues so far and very professionally done.
