Wow. I tried to explain that my order was for a lumbar and sacral MRI, having had it done there multiple times. The woman who called to set up the appointment told me I was wrong, and as I asked her to clarify the order, she told me they had it right for a cervical (neck) MRI. Thus ended my relationship with Akumin and I switched to Touchstone for my MRI.

Not really sure what people are complaining about? ! This place was fantastic! Receptionist was extremely friendly! Techs were absolutely wonderful and did an awesome job! Had a hip MRI and it was extremely smooth. Really nice facilities and you even get to choose your own music while you go through the process. On top of that.it was $1100 cheaper. Trust me.book with Akumin!

After reading these reviews I was a little skeptical about this place. I am already bummed out about my knee situation. Well, the staff was very nice when making my appointment, they answered all my questions. Once I figured out how to get to their front door, they greeted me immediately, my paperwork was ready and I didn't feel rushed. I was called back 10 minutes before my appointment and that surprised me! My normal doctors leave me waiting at least 30 min every visit, so this was a nice change.
The gentleman that did my MRI was so sweet and professional, he seemed to really care about one's comfort.
Let's not forget to mention their quote was so much better than others, by half for me.
Sometimes people give bad reviews because they don't get the answers they want.
I'll definitely choose them again when needed!

I don’t know that I’d normally leave a review for something like this but after reading the negative ones, I decided I probably should. It was a little difficult to get an appointment scheduled but I’d say no more than with a lot of other medical professionals. They got me in on time and were friendly and professional throughout the process.

This business is terrible! Do not waste your time! I have a potentially chronic Illness and they do not care! I hassled with them for 2 weeks just to get an appt scheduled because they kept saying they didn’t have my order and case notes from my provider all while they had the info! Finally I get scheduled 1 1/2 weeks out and 1 day before my appt they called to say they couldn’t verify my insurance because I wasn’t in some portal! I called my insurance and they verified my information was in the portal and correct! Now I’m having to be rescheduled another few weeks out due to their negligence!

I've been trying to get this company to schedule an MRI. They say the referring doctor is lying about sending the referral. The woman I spoke with 3 times was rude and not at all helpful. It took less than an hour to speak with my doctor's office and have the referral sent to another facility in town. Beware of these people. They clearly do not care about the patients they are supposed to be helping. I don't leave many reviews but everyone should know how poorly they treat people.

They are very difficult to reach when calling the Denton office, to schedule or for questions. I talk into a recorder and am told I will be called back. The call is never returned. I tried three times Monday and once last Saturday. They have issues.

Potential patients beware! They lied about my coverage by in medical insurance. I was trying to obtain a diagnosis on a potential serious medical issue. I didn’t take the time to validate with my insurance provider & paid them nearly $500. Insurance paid as well & my explanation of benefits states that I owe $0. They will not answer the phone nor will they return calls. Luckily I used a credit card so I have opened up a dispute - sadly Aukumen isn’t going to make it right until forced legally.

Avoid this place! EVERYTHING you are reading about this place is true and accurate (as far as the billing). They ALWAYS overcharge at least a thousand dollars over the cost. I do not understand how they can do this and half the time you are told they "haven't heard back from the insurance company" BUT it shows your out of pocket expense is XYZ.

My wife has severe back and leg pain.
Doctors send orders to Aliumin in Corinth for MRI. The earliest we could get an appointment was more than 2 weeks away. The appointment was on Monday and Saturday they left a message telling us we would have to reschedule because they didn’t have insurance company authorization or we would have to pay for the procedure out of pocket.
I checked with my insurance company to see what the problem is. Their request wasn’t sent to the insurance company until Friday afternoon before the Monday appointment. It takes the company one to two days for processing. Akumin knows that. They had the orders for 2 weeks and sat on it and did nothing. This is total incompetence and they lied about requesting insurance authorization.
In the meantime my wife is suffering with extreme pain.
Someone should be fired for their incompetence and lying.
We now have to start over with another company because there is no way we will use this incompetent company.

Yesterday was mt MRI of the brain with and without contrast. My experience was pleasant. The radiologist even gave me a blanket bc it was so cold in the room.

I will not give this place one star, I scheduled an MRI for my child and they confirmed back to me my portion of payment would be over 2,100.00 because I have not met my deductible. This is not true and I have no copay for this procedure. Do not give this place any business, when I called to complain their response was well then we'll cancel your appointment. Not able to correct or verify that I was correct. I also asked to speak with an office manager and they told me no one was available for two weeks, that someone would respond in two weeks. Super unprofessional and rude. Go to Touchstone Imagining.not only are they professional but accurate when it comes to charging your for a procedure. This place should be reporting to the better business Bureau and shut down for fraud.

I had an MRI in April. The service was good, but have a very very bad experience with the billing department. If I had a chance I would have given - rating. I am trying to call them since 2 months, and even sent mails but I don’t have any response. I need to get a refund from them, and it’s not a small amount. I don’t understand how should I get it in touch to get the refund.

Terrible experience with office personnel. I was in for a MRI for 2 locations of my back. Said they only had one order not for two. Doctors office sent two at the same time. Today, doctors office refaxed one of the orders. Now had to schedule another MRI (since have to wait on insurance) and probably another copay. I will not use Akumin again. If my doctor insist, oh well there are other doctors. Will went back and had to pay the copay again even though they couldn't find all paperwork 1st visit. Will not go back.

If I could write 2 different reviews for my experience, I would. I would give 5 stars for my entire MRI experience from the time I walked in until the time I walked out. However, when it comes to the billing department, I would give them 1/2 a star. Initially, my insurance wouldn't pay for my MRIs so I paid for them out of pocket. After reviewing my results with the ordering doctor, they said they would cover the procedure and I would be reimbursed for what I paid. Since that time, there has been nothing but vague conflicting answers and many unreturned phone calls both from the supervisor of the department and the billing person who told me to call and ask for her specifically. There are "tons of notes" on my file, none of which apparently have been read. I am calling for what is at least the 10th time this year (I started calling in February and have been waiting to talk to a live person for an hour and 17 minutes as I write this.) I am beyond frustrated with the way this entire situation has been handled. If I ever need an MRI done again, I will be going elsewhere.
