Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Denton reviews
19 Nooooo thank you. I got here an hour early to check this location out, the bar was closed, I literally asked "When does the bar open? ". Big mistake apparently. The manager who was at the front desk, so I could get a print out of my ticket[I like to collect ticket stubs] decided to take offense to my question of simply asking when the bar would open. In a condescending tone, "Well I only have one bar tender and I decided to give her the day off so she could be with her family". Ok, great, thats a great thing, I'm glad.
Im also not your enemy, and treating me like one is a perfect way to never get my business again. I find it fascinating that this is starting to become the norm for Alamo Drafthouse. Remember gang, they're doing YOU a favor, not you choosing to give them YOUR money. Oh well, that's why I'm building a theatre room in my new house, ill just stream movies if Alamo doesn't want my money.
P. S.
I just went to Cheddar's across the parking lot, complete opposite experience at the bar. The kids there demonstrated a hustle I have never seen at any Alamo. I spoke with the manager to personally report just how much better the service was there.
This place was OK. The food was decent. The screen is huge in theater 5 (the theater I was in)
Def would recommend this place
Our first time there and it was really nice almost like sitting at home watching the movie and the service was really good.
I grew up in Austin and was here when Alamo first opened. My son is going to UNT and we checked out this new Alamo in Denton. WELL DONE! It's beautiful! It has to be my favorite Alamo ever! They have recliners! The food is back to pre Covid deliciousness! The theater experience was amazing with the sound system working from all directions! SO MUCH FUN!
The movie experience is excellent. The food experience was not as good. The bottom of my Philly sandwich was soggy. I am confident they will get better
Good theater nice and open, servers don't hound you as bad as some other Alamo locations. Great video/audio which is really all that matters. Wish they had more weirdo programing like the Richardson location.
Gotta love finding a Alamo Drafthouse when you aren't really looking for it. What a treat to have a beer with my whiskey, little table, comfy chair, and no idea what the movie I was about to watch was about. I definitely suggest going in some random day and just watch "Point Break", or something else random.
Nice theater. The service was pretty good. The sound quality and screen is very nice. Sometimes the waiters seemed to get really behind. Maybe they are short staffed like everyone else.
THE VOLUME IS TOO MUCH AND I WORK IN CONSTRUCTION YET SOMEHOW YOU CAN STILL PEOPLE ADJUST THEIR CHAIRS I AM SO CONFUSED HOW PEOPLE ENJOY THEIR EXPERIENCE HERE
Had an amazing night out up here! Great service. Most comfy recliners ever. Picture and sound quality perfect! (Surround in seating)
I ordered the fish and chips and they were cold and mushy on the inside. I got grossed out and asked for the chicken tenders instead which came out overcooked and tough. The movie was excruciatingly loud. I don’t usually mind loud music or movies. When I asked the hostess to turn it down because it was PAINFUL and we were the only people in the theater anyway, she told me she could not. She gave me headphones that did not help it was THAT LOUD! I asked our waiter for the check because I was leaving despite the movie not being over. He got the manager to turn it down… Barely. The waiter, Charlie, was the only good thing about this torturous experience. He tried his best.
That lady at the front desk was very rude and disrespectful. It made my friends and I feel very uncomfortable when we walked in. I will not be back at this theater every again for the fact it wasn’t welcoming. However the server in the movie theater was very good and nice.
Try the Mexican vanilla shake, it’s delicious! I love Alamo. They’re such a fun theater and have lots of cool events. Check out a movie party, they have themed menus and little props at the table. So cute and awesome to be able to watch older classic movies in the theater.
Uneven service, too loud features, overpriced food. Also, as a disabled person, having to walk halfway down the building to use a funky-smelling restroom is less than ideal. I really wish the building wasn't just a long hallway with theatres along the sides, because (with my luck) the movie I'm there to see is always at the opposite end.
I love this place! Its such a great movie going experience and is worth every penny. I feel happy supporting this business and hope they are very successful. The theaters are always quirky and clean, beautiful movie posters. You will not see a single piece of popcorn on the ground. Cleanest movie bathrooms EVER. I was alone in a theater in a morning showing and it was a bit loud and the staff was SO KIND to turn it down slightly for me when I asked. Great servers and great food.
Reasons to support Alamo Drafthouse Denton:
1. Next level movie experience. The promos are funny/hip/educational.
Plus they block off around your seats when you purchase, so you're never sitting next to someone.
2. Cocktails on point. The classy Vesper martini was perfectly made!
3. Staff is efficient and super nice.
4. If you lose your wallet here, they will make every effort to find it (even digging it out of the recessess of a movie recliner) and call you two days later when it's found! Go support these lovely people.
Never go to this place! They are a fraudulent business. Once you get seated, and place your order, they ask to swipe your card for payments for the future meals you order during the movie time. They take your card, and innocently hand it back to you, but they have your card information now. And by chance you did not set up your OTP for your card, you notice a hefty transaction which is not associated to your orders at all when you get home! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS CINEMA! I have to get a new card now because of this.
Best movie theater in Denton. Easily the best sound system and you don't hear sounds from other movies like Cinemark. They don't leave lights on like Movie Tavern. I will say the food isn't as good ever since Covid. If they can fix that it would be perfect.
Always great, glad they're back open. Had to swap my ticket to an earlier showtime and was ez pz. Employees following precautions, only thing to contend with would be other theater-goers
