Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Slaughter Lane reviews
12We went for date night to see WW84 and had a great time! We enjoyed the movie, food was good, service was good, and the Slaughter location is consistently a great place to go. While Covid makes the visit a bit different from the normal ones, we still enjoyed our time.
Alamo Drafthouse has always been awesome. And even now, during COVID, it’s still amazing. They block out seats around you to keep socially distance. Everything was super clean and we felt very comfortable going there. Everyone obeyed the mask rules and they even took everyone’s temp before entering. 100 stars!
I will lose my mind if they don’t bring back the bacon Brussels and goat cheese pizza. Please Alamo it’s been a year.
Made me like buffalo cauliflower. Miss seeing movies there but the food togo gets us by for now.
We won't go to any other theater but Alamo. Love the service, the Victory membership perks, the fun sing-along/quote-along/kids camp, etc events! The food is delicious, great drinks. We love how they maintain strict rules about not talking, texting or arriving late - it really improves the whole movie experience. The app is great and easy to use for selecting seats. Any discrepancies are quickly and easily handled by the managers. This is movies done right!
This was my first time at an alamo theatre and it was a cool experience, but they served bland cold popcorn and cold cookies. I understand they're having a dramatic decrease in customers with covid, but that doesn't mean serve garbage when you're paying good money for items claiming to be fresh.
Pandemic edition: Great job with the safety precautions with one exception: staff members need to be present at the feature presentation's conclusion to direct people out of the theaters or people are gonna do what they do best.ignore the rules. Otherwise great experience. The theater was clean, all the food was prepackaged, and the spacing between seats plenty adequate.
Food was great! Service was awesome! Had a great theater experience watching New Mutants! Loved the temp check, sanitizing stations, and other Covid prevention protocols in place! New Mutants was awesome! See it soon!
Opened back up, very safe and covid cautious. The rooms were cleanly sanitized and seating was very well spaced out. Great experience that makes it almost feel like the world is back to normal.
Update: I've now been to both the Lakeline and Slaughter Lane locations and they have different mask policies. The Slaughter Lane location only requires mask when not seated, so everyone is taking off their mask as soon as they sit down. The Lakeline locations follows the policy from their web-site and requires a mask at all times except while eating or drinking. The mask policy the location follows is printed on your order card when seated, and the Slaughter lane specifically says "unless you're seated", and Lakeline says "unless you're eating or drinking". So despite being part of the same market and franchise, they follow completely different policies.
This is my 3rd time back with the new Covid-19 policy and Alamo Drafthouse is still inconsistent with their mask policy. At first it didn't bother me too much but the more I think about it, the more I realize they are lying to their customers. Alamo's web-site specifically says "Please keep your mask on at all times unless you’re eating or drinking. " You even have to agree to that same policy when you are purchasing a ticket through their web-site. But when you arrive at the theater you are immediately told by the employee taking your temperature that you can take your mask off as soon as your seated. After the first time I thought this was a rogue employee just mis-representing the policy, but sure enough when you sit down there is a sheet of paper that says "Please keep your mask on unless seated for your movie". These are two different policies and while publicly they share the more restrictive policy to get positive publicity, when you arrive you get the much more lax policy that might deter some customers.
I'm writing this review so that other customers are aware that Alamo doesn't follow the policy they publicly display on their web site. I imagine some customers are on the fence about returning, and this could easily be a deal breaker. My experience so far is that most customers are immediately taking their mask off once seated, so be prepared for that.
You may still have an un-masked person breathing (sometimes caughing) right behind you and that can be a scary thought. Personally I'm accepting the more lax policy, though I wish they had actually stuck to the original policy of only while eating or drinking. I had already purchased these 3 different movies before realizing they weren't following the mask policy, so in the future it will influence my decision to see a movie there.
Best movie theater experience available in Austin. The seats are extremely comfortable, wait staff is attentive, drinks / food are good.
The best cinema experience you can get! An Alamo classic. If you need a more relaxed day, this on Slaughter Lane is a perfect quiet spot inside a strip mall. Their recliner seats are super comfy and it goes perfect with food & drink menu which is rich and delicious.
Yes. That’s all I can say about this place as the word yes. The seats recline and adjustable and very comfortable. The service is impeccable every time we get our order exactly right. Not to mention the food is delicious and the theater ambience is wonderful. Run don’t walk to Alamo Drafthouse on slaughter. And book online for the convenience
