Bad tempered, lazy server - who sadly made it obvious she was looking for a life partner - and none of our family were suitable - she is damaging your business

Decided to come here with my boyfriend for dinner since it was close by our Airbnb. The environment and atmosphere was beautiful and we were welcomed in with them asking if we were apart of the big party. We said no and we got seated where the waiter lit a candle and gave us time to order. Me and my boyfriend didn’t realize that majority of the drinks on the menu were alcohol as we never went to this place before and were just looking for a spot to eat. I can’t have alcohol, so my boyfriend asked the waiter if there were any nonalcoholic drinks, which in my defense I would’ve been completely fine with just a water or a soda. But the waiter gave my boyfriend a weird look and said “um we have coke. ” And I said that I’d just take it. We ordered our food and the food for its price was great but we were barely checked on by our own waiter but instead was constantly checked on by the person who brought out our food. My boyfriend then asked that same waiter towards the end of our dining experience where the restrooms were because they were hidden and he just mumbled and said it’s over there, which wasn’t really clear so my boyfriend ended up almost walking into the kitchen and another person had to redirect him to the restroom.the vibes here are weird but the food was great so I guess it’s a win lose situation lol

Modern American comfort food. They are great at providing food accommodations if you have dietary restrictions

Surprisingly very good. It looks hole in the wall but the quality of food and service was great. I highly suggest the egg white combo. The potatoes were very crispy. I’d come back here again.

I'm not sure why everyone likes this place. My plate was way too salty, another dish had no flavor, and overall just not impressed.

I call it a hidden gem because this was my first time here and the front door was in a little alley area and I almost walked by. This place gets busy quick on a Sunday. I went just before noon for brunch. There is a nice bar to wait or eat at or be seated in the main room. Started off with a mimosa which was good, nothing to really make it standout, but not bad. Than the deviled eggs. Now I love deviled eggs, I order them everywhere I go if they’re on the menu. These were cooked perfectly, a nice creamy consistency with the yolk. Also the herbs and espelette pepper made it the perfect one or two bites. Bonus with me is a chef that will use a piping bag for the filling.
There were a lot of choices on the menu, but when the Challah French toast plate was delivered to the next table, my mind was made up. Super soft and perfectly soaked bread, not overpowered with cinnamon, bacon was crispy and eggs done properly. You can see why this is a popular dish in the menu. If you get a chance to go by, I highly suggest it. Also, Alice Blue is located in the Historic Heights area of Houston and the area is full of little shops you can walk into and explore after you eat.

I was between showing appointments during lunch time in the Heights and needed a place to have a light bite and work in my laptop. I had the fish tacos with corn salad and a cup of dark English tea. I didn’t care much for the radish on the tacos but everything else was fabulous! I sat in the back and I was able to work and enjoy a nice cup of tea after lunch. The staff is very friendly and service was great!

Food and service were good. Burnt ends watermelon salad is a joy to taste and heartily recommended.

Mains good with decent staples. All cooked to order.

It was a Tuesday night so atmosphere rank at 3 isnt a poor reflection of the venue but the day of the week.

If i was here longer id try a weekend night

I love it when places have happy hour on the weekends.

Came here and ordered the deviled eggs, hummus, flautas, fried chicken sandwich and pulled pork sandwich. The food a fab. I also ordered the Rosé from the happy hour menu which was some of the best Rosé I’ve ever had.

We had a lovely server and we were checked on by the manager and hostess while we were dining.

This was my first time here and I was so impressed. Looking forward to returning and trying new menu items.

A colleague and I met at this Upper Heights place in Houston for a business brunch. The place opens at 10: 30 and we were the first customers through the door. I ordered the Fish Tacos al Pastor and my colleague ordered Smoked Salmon Tartare. The pair of tacos came with a cup of Mexican corn salad. The corn salad was very flavorful but the tacos, although not bad, were just acceptable. The smoked salmon (I tasted a little piece) was very good and it came with a salad and, what looked like, store bought potato chips.

The total came out to be around $45 plus tips.

Everything about this place was great. I was able to get parking right in the front of the restaurant, and it was lunch time! Coretta was an excellent server. The drinks and the food were superb! We'll definitely be back!

Really cute spot I found while walking in the heights and I saw great reviews. My personal experience was not great, I came in the hostess was so nice she offered a table but I went to the bar because I was alone (bad choice) The bar barely acknowledged me I got a menu no one asked if I wanted a drink. I initiated EVERYTHING, my drink my food no one asked anything. They discussed their check, and how it was short they cleaned up I got no attention and I waited 10 minutes after I ate to see if they would ask me anything so of course I had to ask for my check too. The chicken salad was good and my sangria was just ok but yeah very disappointed.

This was a nice little gem to stumble upon. Came for brunch over the weekend and the food was terrific! The protein bowl was very yummy as well as the Mac and cheese!
