AllBrands.com Sew Contempo reviews
13Dropped off sewing machine for service, although they were quite busy I was waited on quickly. Everyone was very pleasant.
Wonderful experience with the Houston AllBrands! I recently purchased an embroidery machine from this store, and I while I am very happy with my machine - the customer service in this store has been amazing. The employees are knowledgeable, helpful and really go out of their way to make you feel like family.
Enjoy this store and the people. Not quite the fabric selection of some other stores but many other needed selections. Still one of my favs
The store has lost it's "Sew Contempo" charm over the years and now has nothing left of the brand. Allbrands has turned the fabric selections into a "Sew Vac Warehouse" quality and no longer offer premium quilting cottons - the shelves are so sad. If you manage to find a gem it is a remnant of the previous owner's selections. The shop used to carry a reputation for the best Quilt Shop on the Gulf Coast. While the store still has top quality machines the sparkle and joy throughout the shop is gone. I no longer have a need to make the journey south just to visit the shop and now enjoy the other shops in the area that carry the better variety of fabrics. It is also deflating for the staff that have to constantly address the reasons why the new lines from Andover, Free Spirit, Moda etc are not on the shelves. Allbrands no longer purchases fabric from the top design houses and it will be the downfall of this location. The area and clientele deserve premium fabrics to sew on their premium machines. I would not be surprised to find that Brother and Bernina pull-out their distributor agreements in the next couple of years.
I went in to see about purchasing a sewing machine, I received such great customer service. I wasn’t pressured into purchasing anything, and all my questions were answered.
Update*****Today Margie took the time to speak with me about the unpleasant situation the previous day. She and the owner have helped me with my repair and also with the Brother I purchased. I wanted to update here because I felt it necessary that when a store goes out its way with kindness, this is how we make the world a better place. So thank you to the store for making things right, I know it is a stressful time for us all.

Called in twice first time very professional today spoke with a different lady who gave me a quote $1000 over the other local competitors. Asked to price match, she said we don't dic around with the price and said have a great day end of call, sounded sarcastic. I wouldn't dic around with this store if you like to get kissed first.call around and check prices for sure. Put a down payment with another company 1000+ less. If I didn't speak with the owner check your employees im 50/50 on customer service and will never consider yall again because of prices and service. I don't dic around either have a great day
A week or so ago, I came in for the first time and was helped by Bobbi and Anastasia. They were both extremely helpful and knowledgeable about any questions I had regarding thread, scissors, different techniques etc.
Amazing customer service, everything I bought from this store is super high quality too and the prices are fair. I highly recommend this place!
Large selection of embroidery machines, supplies and ideas. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff.
"Can't say enough wonderful things about the people and the shop! The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly. I won't go anywhere else for a new machine or for service! "
I’m quilting for the first time, and picking out the right fabrics in the right quantity for my soon to be queen size quilt seemed a little intimidating. Upon entering the Clear Lake location, I was immediately asked if I needed any help. I came to discover the offer of help was meant wholeheartedly. Gwen helped me make smart fabric choices while letting me capture a collection that i believe my wife will love. She also made sure I had enough of each to do what I plan to do. Gwen said her job there was part time. I plan to return.on a Thursday or Saturday. Thanks, Gwen!
I can;t even give this place a Star, let alone five stars. Purchased a Scan N Cut in December of last year and have yet to have the class offered by the store. I've only been offered excuses. I only gave it one star because it would not allow you to post this review without a star. -1
Lost 2 stars for snotty attitude. Went by today to specifically pick up the last roll of specialty stabilizer for some silk robes I'm monogramming. Employee asked how she can help me. I told her I had spoken to another employee who had pulled their last roll and put my name on it and set it aside for me for me to pick up today. After looking in drawers, she went and grabbed something else and told me it was the same thing. ($10 more). It isn't. I wanted to purchase what the pros told me to get. Her attitude became short and snotty, pulling rolls out onto the floor quickly, as she finally got on the phone with the employee who put mine back for me, I'm picking up rolls rolling away. Lo and behold, there it was. Her response? Walk to register, plop it down on counter for someone else to ring up and walk off. Now, I know everyone has bad days, I have them, myself. But PLEASE, don't be the person who ruins what is supposed to be a respite and therapy to countless others. Our love of sewing, embroidery and crafting is one that is supposed to foster sharing and kindness. I hope that the next time I go back, it will be a little happier place.
