Alley Theatre reviews
16First time here to see, “The Servant of Two Masters. ” I enjoyed this hilarious comedy; the actors were awesome. This is a play for most ages and all cultures, very entertaining. I made sure to sit at the very front in the middle, which made for an even greater experience. I like the smaller theater set up (tickets are cheaper too and way better views no matter where you sit). Even if I sat further up, no one’s head would be in my way, unlike other theaters. If I ever see another play of interest, I will return. I commend the company for not allowing snacks and drinks inside the theater area. Intermission goes quick but viewing a performance at a smaller venue allows for a cozier environment and ability to enjoy a brief snack/beverage and restroom trip. And, the staff were much friendlier and accommodating. When I could not locate my ticket in my numerous emails, the box office just pulled up my name and quickly printed my ticket.
I understand the arts need money, but Alley Theatre tries to squeeze every penny out of it’s patrons even when shows are canceled. Terrible way to run a business.
What a wonderful place to enjoy a night out with my Granddaughter. The play was very entertaining & funny. The venue is very nice and there's not a bad seat in the house.
Had a great time. Beautiful theater. Definitely want to go back! But that line for the elevator...
A wonderful, modern theatre, with comfortable seats, good views from all seats. It has an intimate vibe due to the layout. We saw A Servant of 2 Masters, which was beautifully over-played for the laughs.
First rate. Torera was, in all aspects, totally enjoyable. I am looking forward to the next production.
Amazing intimate venue, And the performances are as close to Broadway as we will get in Houston.
Wonderful Mother's Day with Sherlock Holmes. Got there early ordered drinks for intermission. Easy parking. Simple and nice. Will order season tickets for several shows now.
Lovely theater and a fun show. Awful parking, terrible traffic and the line for the elevator was ridiculous. But the theater is very nice.
The servant of two masters was truly awful.
Primitive, infantile, not funny, extremely long.
If this was my first time to Alley I'd never come back.
Plenty of available parking in the garage across the lot.
The staff were courteous, the theater was very well kept and the stage was beautiful.
As a person whonis hard of hearing, I appreciated the use of a microphone-speaker system which allowed me to hear every word.
I am looking forward to attending here again soon.
CLUE was amazing! Definitely going back. My husband didn't think he was going to enjoy himself this much. And we booked plans to go back the next day. I was actually pretty close to the front, but it's a relatively small theatre, any seat should be good. Highly recommend, wonderfully different date time!
So. I want to edit my review. I'm not at all changing that the play and atmosphere is awesome.but don't buy the flex tickets when they call. I had some misfortunate events happen to where I wasn't able to use them in the time frame, but I still wanted to use them later.when I asked for help, I got told "Sorry, nothing we can do. " and even though I didn't put up a fight and said " thanks for your help". He just hung up on me. So, I knocked off a star for customer service. I'd also like to add, when I bought the flex tickets, I was told that they wouldn't want to lose my business so if something was to happen they'd work with me. And in the past, when my husband had COVID, and we weren't able to make a play, they credited us.
Every time it’s a wonderful experience. I find the chairs so much more comfortable and a Hobby center and it is a much more intimate setting. It is hard to have a bad seat. The thespians that they have on staff always put their best foot forward.
Great experience. For being in a big city, the theatre has a cozy, intimate feel to it. Can't wait for the next play!
We parked in the underground parking garage across the street from the theater.
We used the tunnel to arrive at the theater. The door to the theater was locked. After waiting about 10 minutes, someone came to the door and said the door would not be open for access to the theater.
We were instructed to go up the elevator to the ground floor to enter the theater.
Since it was raining that day, it was a bit of an inconvenience. It would have been nice to be informed of this beforehand.
