Allie's Attic Storage reviews
8Guy did not leave me a key to pick up my truck so I paid money and ended up not being able to move absolute embarrassment I will be speaking with his boss tomorrow embarrassment of a company
I would not rent from storage from this place. When my storage got broken into they did not seem to care. They told me they would watch the video to see if they could see something and then I find out that he did not watch the whole thing for the week it happened. When talking to the young boy that called himself the manager about why he did not watch the whole thing he said he didn’t have the time to do it. He also while talking to me was giggling at me situation, witch was not very professional.
This place is hands down the best in Lubbock. I lived there as a grad student and I never had to worry about my stuff not being safe. Excellent customer service, they were always kind and willing to help. They are also reasonably priced and in a good location.
Like how the staff goes above and beyond to help and take care of their customers, facility is clean.
I reserved a U-Haul trailer here Tuesday Sept 21st, for today, Sat. Sept 25th at 9am. I showed up shortly after 9am. The reason I chose it was this is the closest U-Haul to my house. Most of the other ones are all the way across town. I had pretty tight plans with people who were helping me move some things.
The front desk staff helped the gentleman in front of me, and the assistant stepped outside to help him. When I was asked my name, Lisa typed it in, and said "yea I have no such reservation". I had multiple confirmation emails and texts from U-Haul all week. I tried to give her my reservation number but she wasn't interested. Instead, she asked what I needed. I repeated the dimensions of the trailer I had reserved. She said, "oh I have one that I bet will work". So we step outside and she shows me a tiny little trailer. I said "this is not going to work" and she says "they're essentially the same size". It was clearly not. What I also see is the assistant helping the previous customer load up the trailer I reserved.
After several other suggestions like "you can wait till 1pm when the trailer is returned", she finally suggests I just drive all the way across town to the actual U-Haul location. Instead of remotely apologizing for this inconvenience, Lisa instead chose to make a series of excuses, website doesn't work, they are too busy, the reservation system is more of a suggestion, and "this happens all the time". Had she just said "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" I would not be typing this right now.
After the actual U-Haul location helped me and I returned the trailer I sat down to catch up on some notifications. Ended up, I got a second invoice from Allie's Attic Storage, indicating the original reservation, that I wasn't able to pick up. Check my credit card and sure enough they charged me for the trailer they didn't rent me. I called back, and Lisa picks up. At first she claims she can't reverse the charge. It's a different amount than I ended up paying at the actual U-Haul, and it's appeared as a second charge on my credit card. She says she even remembered me from this morning, and remembered they didn't have the trailer.
I would NEVER recommend this place. I can only imagine what happens when your storage unit gets raided or your payments get lost. Lisa did not call me an idiot, but basically treated me as if I was one. How am I supposed to know they only have one trailer in the size I needed or they consider reservations more of a suggestion? What is the point of making a reservation? She treated me as if I was putting her out by trying to rent from them. Tried to convince me a smaller trailer was the same size. In total, I ended up wasting an hour and a half of my day, and several gallons of gas driving a U-Haul back and forth all the way across town, nevermind the help I had arranged.
Lisa and Chris when out of their way to make sure we had a truck when the first UHaul canceled our reservation without notice. This is the only place I will ever rent from.
He went out in a torrential rainstorm to show me how to safely attach the U-Haul car trailer. Great service.
