Amarillo KOA Journey reviews
33Only stayed overnight seems to be well kept with nice amenities. A little further away from the main road than I would prefer but not bad.
Fantastic place. Clean and great staff. Natural Bridge VA KOA needs to visit here and learn how KOA’s are suppose to be. Great experience.
Very friendly, EXTREMELY clean! Nee ownwr met us, visited with them. Sparkling clean pool and showers.
This place was simply amazing! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were so clean and well kept! Kiddos had fun all the time. Playground and pool were great! Little cabin was super cute and such a fun stop for our family.
A lot of noise especially from the airport right behind the campground. You can see it on maps. Everyone says the staff is so nice but both times we've stayed going through Texas they must have had bad days, we were not greeted friendly at all nor did they make us feel welcomed. Shuttle service to The Big Texan was nice and convenient.
The facility was very clean and updated, but it is located near an airport, train tracks where the trains blew whistles all night long and a busy, noisy highway.
Nice place. But they need more crushed rock and/or grass in the parking spots. It rained and there was no way I could avoid walking in the mud as I disconnected everything: water hose, electric cord, and sewer hose all very muddy.
Nice park only negative is the railroad noise on some nights. We will stop again if in the area. The limo service to the restaurant is special.
The guy that showed us where to park told us about a free limo ride to the big Texan steak house and told us to let him know if we wanted to go and he would call. Sure enough a limo picked us up. We had a good steak and got to watch someone try to eat the 72 oz steak dinner. He didn't. Big place, bar and gift shop plus. Limo ride back. Had a great time.
Quiet, clean, friendly staff. Even the neighbors horse Allie was available to pet and ride. Stayed two nights and turned into a week.
Everyone was super nice, the cabin had roaches though. My boyfriend accidentally left my backpack open and when I woke up there were little roaches in my toothbrush case and toothpaste. I won't stay here unless I'm in the camper. It was just a quick stop before new Mexico and we're koa members, but we won't stay here again. The location was less than ideal.
Stopover efficient. This KOA has amenities you would expect from them like Kamp K9, playground, pool etc but it is literally a parking lot with hookups. Wedged between an airport and a railroad with a gas truck loading station thrown in to break up the 'scenery'. This place is all about location. People working here are friendly and helpful. If you need to be here or stop for the night it's fine.
This was one of the best KOA's we stayed at. There is a lot of cattle industry around this area and you can definitely smell it. We were pleasantly surprised that they had already turned on the AC in the cabin and had some sort of air freshener in there that made it like an oasis from the smell of outdoors. The doors on the cabin were proper doors and the bathrooms were clean and secure. Would definitely stay here again.
Very satisfying; we slept great, kids played on the playground, we had breakfast and headed out.
We used this campground as a way point traveling from Dallas to Santa Fe. It worked very well for that purpose. It's clean, staff was friendly (and efficient), and there's a dog park. The spaces are crowded, but nice and level. We'll keep this one on our list.
Great location. Big sites. Long enough that you don't have to unhook. Everyone was very helpful and friendly.
Great people! Outdoor pool, kids playground, and free cable TV is a plus. Only complaint is their wifi is really bad.
Staff Very friendly and helpful. We had an issue with my motorhome and the told me where to go to get it fixed. The park is dog friendly with very clean facilities.
We had a very enjoyable stay. The campsites were clean with lots of shade. The staff was amazing an attentive.
