America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses reviews
23 I was really excited to try this place and I feel like going into detail is rather worthless given all of the one star reviews. Needless to say I will not be going back to America’s Best. Upon entering the building I did not feel welcome and felt as if I was bothersome to the staff. The atmosphere is chaotic and felt disorganized.
You should also know that everything and I mean everything is an additional cost with this company. I will be ordering my glasses via Warby Parker where I am treated with respect. Warby Parkers lenses come with anti-glare, anti-scratch, UV protection and more already built into the lens and at no additional cost, no additional $69 for each protection. If you are needing to save money (aren’t we all?) please check them out. I ordered the “Try-on at home” package and there is no cost for shipping, sending or receiving of your try-on at home package. Also, the glasses come with a one year worry free scratch protection, at America’s Best that too was an additional cost from what I was told.
If you are local to McKinney and have been for some time then you know that this location used to be a Cafe Brazil. Oh how I miss having a Cafe Brazil right around the corner, endless hot coffee and chocolate chip pancakes the size of your face.
I will never ever go to this location. Tall Dr and the tech so rude and show no compassionate. Terrible, horrible how can they call themselves a doctor.
First time there and I went in during my online scheduled appointment and all went very well. The experience was timely, all staff was nice and professional and my glasses came in early which was great because I needed glasses for driving. Lastly I was very pleased with the prices. Great experience!
Everyone was very friendly and personable. Beth helped me pick some frames I'm very happy with.
My experience with this location was effortless from beginning to end.i was able to get an appoitment for eye exam the next day.i was seen promptly up arrival by a receptionist with a pleasant disposition.my initial testing was completed with technician kirk, who was also very nice, helpful, and personable.after seeing the optemetrist, i was assisted with obtaining my eyeglasses rx and checking out with associate beth. Beth went above and beyond to assist me with answering my questions and making sure i recieved everything i needed from my visit.would recommend.will return.
The front desk guy is super passive aggressive. I walked in just a couple minutes late for my 12pm. He was on the phone, another gentleman after I stood there for a minute told me they would be right with me. That was fine, I waited patiently. Once the guy was off the phone, it was the 12: 08 which he then tells me there’s a 7 minute window anything even a minute after they have to reschedule. I wouldn’t have been at 8 or 7 mins if someone checked me in right away. I’m going somewhere else, maybe being a bit more considerate or polite about it wouldn’t have left such a bad taste in my mouth.
I could not be more impressed! Everything about my appointment was great. They were very busy but I did not feel rushed. I am a new contact wearer and they did a very thorough lesson. It took me a little while to learn how to put them in and take them out but they were extremely patient.
And the prices are amazing! I had scheduled an eye appointment at another place and when I arrived they told me my insurance would not cover the contact exam and it would be between $99 and $249. I left and scheduled here. No surprise charges!
I've always had trouble with glasses before and this time it was great. No long wait, Dr was fantastic and understood my problems I got lovely help choosing frames and the prices can't be beat. Thanks
All employees were polite and efficient. The office was very busy and all customers appeared to be getting assistance. I had a pleasant experience. I did go elsewhere to get my glasses. I wear progressive lenses and my cost was almost 700 dollars with insurance and 600 with out using insurance. I was able to obtain the same glasses at a competitor for just under 450 dollars. If you don’t require progressive lenses this is a great place to go.
Not acknowledged by any of the 3 opticians in office when looking for glasses. Had to wait an hour while 2 opticians helped people who came in after us and third held the wall up.
. Definitely not service oriented. No
Offer to help with frames except by another customer.
Still waiting for glasses. We will see what quality of glasses is like when they come in.
I paid more than 600 bucks for my glasses. The people there were nice to me and they had guaranteed for a free one within a year if my glasses got scratched. I got a new pair after 11 months use as they promised. But the new one was not the same as original one and had heavy scratches for only a few months. I will not come back again and do not recommend this place.
This is one of the worst America's Best eye places I have been to. Awful, awful staff. I will not return to this eye place or any other for that matter.
Eye exam was efficient. Glasses are considered overpriced in view of the deceptive marketing. Entire experience was adequate.
Janet is the best!
She got my trial pair of contacts ordered as well as helped me pick out a second pair of glasses. I told her about my style and life/work style and she picked a perfect pair that matched my personality! She was so nice and I’m patient with me. Gave me pricing for different choices. And had genuine conversation with me throughout helping me!
I really appreciate her and wish her nothing but the best with the company and her journey through life in general! Sappy, I know. But she seriously was amazing.
This place has the worst customer service I have ever encountered in the eye care industry! I came here on December the 28th to get a pair of glasses on my prescription from April 2019. They gave me someone else’s prescription and than took another additional week for my glasses to return! I just got them back on January the 16th, unbelievably! Never again!
Everytime I come to this store, everyone is very polite and quick to help me. Today, my son's glasses needed fixing. The gentlemen didn't even looked to see if we were customers, he just quickly adjusted the glasses. Even cleaned them too! I've been a customer here for 5 years and I will keep coming back. Thank you for a fantastic job.
I highly recommend Dr. Fitzhugh. He helped cure my dry eye disease! He is very professional and caring.
Went for a scheduled appt and was asked to wait in the back, while the staff hung out socializing. I was the only customer. Later I went to the desk to check on how long the wait was expected to be. They then informed me that they couldn't find the technician who was to see me. They were unconcerned and suggested I reschedule.
Worst place to go. First, they over charged me way to much, then I picked out 2 name brand frames but when I got there they tried to give me 2 knock-off frames and I guess they thought I wouldn't notice but I did. Also, they gave me the wrong prescription for my glasses and I couldn't see out my left lens but they didn't even care to check before letting me know, I had to let them know to fix it. The two girls helping me to pick out contacts gave me the wrong ones and two different color then tried to rush me to go. Then I tried to give everything back and get my refund but the manager said she isn't otherized to give anything back. So I told her let me speak so someone with higher authority then she only gives me half my money back, so I said that's not acceptable so she gave me a little bit more and said she can't do anymore. Every last one of them were rude and Unprofessional. I took my business to Lens Crafters and they were amazing and helpful.
The actual office visit and exam went fine. It just went downhill when it came to getting the contacts I had ordered. They were shipped to the wrong city. So I called and the woman I spoke to said they would re-ship them to me at the correct address and that I would get an email when they shipped. A week later, no email so I called and asked about the status. This woman I spoke to told me that it was getting shipped to their store and that I would need to come pick it up. They said they would call me when they were in but I couldn't get any ETA. So I called the next day at about 4: 30 because I didn't really trust them to call me and I was right. They had come in but it was too late in the day for me to go get them by then. I was frustrated with the different things people were telling me about how I was going to get them and also for the fact that it felt like no one was acknowledging that the mistake was theirs and not mine. I kept telling the people I spoke to that the contacts were very important and I needed them ASAP and I think they should have understood the urgency and apologized for the delay and done more to make sure I got them as fast as possible. It took 3 weeks to get contacts that I consider a vital part of my everyday life.
