Animal Health and Medical Center reviews
18Y’all treated me and my little rescue kitttens so well. I appreciate your kindness and fair prices.
Dr Bolt is fantastic and the office is very well run. I’ve always had a good experience bringing in my animals and I even get an email when they’re due for shots or a checkup
Our experience was almost 5 years ago. Boy, does time fly. Let me just quickly summarize: dead dog, trip to vet board, lied a lot. He only paid a fine. Would not allow him to trim my dogs' toenails.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Animal Heath and Medical Center.
This week, I took our dog in for a surgical appointment to have her spayed and the result is not good. The incision is much to low for a typical spaying surgery (the goal is to be as close to the organs to be removed as possible). Additionally, the suture approach is sloppy in the method used (appears to be 'mattress' suture) and its execution (uneven and biasing to one side). Finally, there are what appear to be serval burn marks around the incision area. See photo for details.
I asked to talk with Dr Bolt when I picked up our dog, but was told that the vet does not come to the lobby to talk to clients.
EDIT: I see that there is at least one other review in which their animal developed internal gangrene and died after a spaying operation at this establishment. I will keep this updated and keep you informed how our dog is doing. Praying for the best.
They are professional. They know my dog and he them. They make him comfortable. They’re friendly.
I have used Dr. Bolt for years.him and his staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Wouldn't go any where else.
Dr. Bolt remains calm, with a sense of humor, in dealing with my dramatic fur baby. It takes a team of 3 to handle my 15 lb. ‘Mr. Hiss. ’ Thank y’all for your expertise and patience with him. Sorry for the war wounds. Top notch care!
They always take very good care of my fur babies also very sympathetic when you have to put one down. That's always extremely hard but they are there for you and do everything they can. They even send a card a little after as well which is extremely nice!
Friendly staff and good flexibility with scheduling. Dr. Bolt is very knowledgeable and helpful. Convenient location, easy parking and nice facility.
They take great care of our babys and always send reminders when its time for shots so even if I forget they won't!
So kind and caring. They really try hard to make your visit easy! Love love love the staff!
I've been taking my cats and dogs here for over 10 years. We absolutely love Dr. Bolt! All his staff are very caring and wonderful people. I don't trust anyone else with my animals. They are very upfront about their pricing and they don't try to sell you stuff you don't need.
They always try to work you in on the day you call them. It is a family operated business. They involve their grandkids there to help them learn. Dr Bolt is just a normal country boy that cares about your fur babies. They offer several different ways to pay. They are just an all round great place to take your fur babies love Dr Bolt.
Dr. Bolt and his staff are smart, experienced, efficient, and very compassionate. I have been taking my dogs to them for more than 10 years now. He always answers my questions thoroughly. When I have an emergency they see my dogs immediately. When I had to put my dog down they handled the situation with care and love. Best people ever!
I was taking my little yorkie to Big Country Veterinary, which I hate! Rude Doctor! So changed back to Bolt. I like the person himself, but after taking my baby there every week for 6 weeks cause something was wrong after she had had knee surgery, he never diagnosed what was wrong til it was to late, and then only then cause he called a specialist in Dallas that the specialist told him my baby possibly developed a blood clot to rush her to them, We did, it was to late my baby didn’t may it, however Bolt knew she wasn’t when he sent us to Dallas. I just feel we paid hundreds of dollars weekly even twice weekly for WHAT? Not enough education, poor medical care, nice yes! But nice did safe my baby! Yet it wasn’t my neglect but his lack of knowledge. Every week it was costing us 250-380 $ per visit and add the end we did not even receive a sympathy card, it’s been 2 and weeks and my heart is so broken, my life is so empty without her.
Always professional and very nice. Got me in immediately to help my very sick dog. They're fantastic and I really appreciate Dr. Bolt.
My cat won't go anywhere else. The vet gets the treatment done quickly and with no fuss. Just the way Bry likes it. We've been using Animal Health since moving here 4 years ago.
This place is amazing. They are fast and the waiting time is almost nothing. I have tried over 3 different clients in Abilene but I always had to wait 15-30 minutes in the tiny room trying to tame kids and animals. Not with Animal Health and Medical Center. So fast and affordable. Additionally, they do not pressure or try to up-sell every product they have in their place. They listen to your concerns and then give the solution, check the animal and done. No time wasted. Makes the process quick and efficient. Will take all animals to this clinic.
