Possibly the best medical center I have been in. My loved one was cared for professionally and compassionately. On top of that the food is good.

*A few months late*
I had two procedures to fuse my SI joints. Absolutely wonderful staff. Everyone from the front desk employee (sorry I don't know your name), to Chelsea RN (Pre-op), Julie RN (OR), Natalie RN (PACU) and Dr. Olejnikova (anesthesia) were a joy to interact with. They were very courteous, friendly and willing to answer questions and made my early morning surgeries very pleasant. I don't recommend getting hurt and needing surgery, but if you do, they will take excellent care of you! Thank you all!

This is due to payment issues not issues with surgery. I have contacted Arise many times to get my refund as it was submitted to insurance incorrect and not processed.i ended up going to the emergency room 3 days after and ended up having to pay several thousand dollars for my deductible not being processed at arise.i waited to pay hospital till i was told they were going to send to collections if i don't pay the bill.i have been in contact with arise since oct when i finally received a return call.i was told issue with insurance dispute and called insurance and they said it was due to incorrect coding.none the less i dont care about all of that i want my $4000 back that i paid and at this point i should have accrued some interest that i have lost on my money.your accounts payable and your billing department both have my phone number and i want a call back and a date of my check issuance! This is past ridiculous and im done with excuses.i just want a refund that is due

I went to Arise today for my mother’s epidural shot. The nurses were very helpful and made the visit pleasant. That’s the only reason I gave it any stars. The doctor my mom had to see, Mr. Hill was very much unprofessional to say the least. I’m not sure if it was because he was late to her appt but the moment he stepped in the room my worries began, definitely wouldn’t advise anyone seeing (unless your elderly Caucasian male) he seems to be more friendly too

My dissatisfaction with Arise was with the billing department. My actual care was satisfactory. I was overcharged for the surgery by over $2000. My surgery was 6/2/21, and I just received my refund now 3/4/22 after repeated calling and even meeting with a billing associate in person.

When I had surgery, 1.5 years ago, upon check in I paid my estimated remaining Max Out of Pocket amount. Arise assured me, if I overpaid based upon the order of claims processed they would process a refund. Well, if they say the same thing to you - don’t believe it. Not only am I owed a refund, Arise began sending invoices to me indicating I owed A LOT more. Interestingly enough, the amount fluctuated - sometimes it was $3k, sometimes $5k, and sometimes $6k. This additional amount was literally impossible as my Max Out of Pocket was $2,500 and had been met. I have spoken to so many people at Arise. Initially I thought it would be okay as the person I worked with confirmed I was owed a refund and began to process it. But then the Team Lead stopped my refund - that’s when the problems began. I have called so many times, spoken to so many people, even my surgeon has called the CEO and it’s gotten me no where (to keep track of it all - I have it all documented). I have filed a BBB and an Attorney General complaint to have it on record. My insurance has confirmed time and time again I owed them less than I paid upon check in but Arise continues to hold my refund hostage. It’s gotten so bad, that I am needing another surgery and I am canceling with my surgeon as he is doing surgeries exclusively at Arise. So be warned if you go there - very likely you will never see your money if you are owed a refund. Looking through the reviews, this is not a “one off” scenario and it’s a trend there. Plus the people I have spoken to have been extremely rude, which is just making it even worse. If this does happen to you, I highly suggest filing a BBB and an Attorney General complaint. Not that it will fix anything, but it will show the pattern to the correct people.

The nursing and care staff during my wife's knee surgery in February 2021 were great and that is the only reason they are getting 3 stars.

No matter what they tell you, do not prepay anything to them. I have been calling since April 2021 to get refunded almost $1,000 that we overpaid prior to the surgery. It is impossible to get a hold of anyone or get a call back. Once I finally got a hold of someone in November, she confirmed to the penny the amount I had calculated is what we were owed. She said a check would be sent out for that amount. It is now almost 3 months later since it was confirmed we are owed a refund and we have still gotten nothing.

Their billing department is a joke and needs someone to clean it up. I hope that my $1,000 made their books look that much better at year end since they couldn't cut us a check in the 8 weeks they had before the end of the year.

My recovery nurse gave me something to put me BACK to sleep after I was wide awake after my knee replacement. Then he rushed me out of the hospital when I was still groggy. He also said he would give me a Percocet before I left. He gave me nothing. I was not taken to the bathroom, stood up to see if I could stand or walk. They also did not have the OnQ pump which I got with my first knee replacement. I wound up in an ER at midnight the night of surgery and then at a place where I could get an OnQ pump the next evening. The block they used instead left me writhing in pain. I will NEVER go back here again. I have left several complaints on their webpage contact form and have received no feedback from them. I guess they don’t care.
From the owners response below, I see they don’t read. I already contacted the hospital 3 times and sent my survey back with my contact information. Why should I keep trying if the owner can’t respond appropriately?

My 23 year old daughter had her gall bladder removed. During her recovery, she had the most insensitive male nurse. She has general anesthesia obviously, so she wasn’t feeling too good when she woke up. His comments to her complaining of pain, were so insensitive. To the male nurse, “It’s your job to make sure patients are comfortable and with minimal pain. Not make comments like “you’re 23 hrs old, act your age” this comment was made several times to her when she was waking up from anesthesia and asking for her sister! You’re suppose to be considerate and compassionate to patients. What’s wrong with you? ! Go work in a different field if you can’t be a true nurse!

I had been fortunate/unfortunate enough to have two surgeries here, both thankfully performed by Dr. Dan Peterson. I'm 63 years old and am quite experienced with hospitals having had 5 back surgeries, 2 shoulder surgeries and 1 hernia. So this is the opinion of a semi-professional patient.

No hospital/surgery center has ever inspired me to write a review except Arise Medical Center.

The place is incredible clean, so you don't fear of leaving with a disease like MRSA or COVID-19. The staff is super friendly, from the front desk to the nurses to the assistants in surgery. They even fed my wife breakfast in the waiting room at no additional charge!

They are accommodating, and genuinely interested in you (Not just doing their job) and seem willing to go out of their way to make sure you feel cared for. For example I was coming out from under anesthesia and one nurse just sat at the side of my bed watching me for almost a full hour. Her. Me. By ourselves. What other hospital does that? I can tell you. No one.

The bottom line is that they provided a calming influence and extremely good care during 2 very stressful times for me and my family. I recommend them without hesitation.

We had a great experience at Arise. Thank you so much to charge nurse Seán, nurses Michelle, Stephen, and an extra special shout-out to the overnight nurse, Chip.

Everyone was so attentive and helpful. They made sure my partner and I both were comfortable and understood everything. Very accommodating and we felt very welcomed and cared for. Even helped us try to accommodate my partners vegan diet diet for meals. Thanks so much!

The Arise Medical Center staff were excellent. Shout outs to Olvido, George, John, Chip and Bree for the outstanding care that they provided. They were all cordial, knowledgeable and very professional as they cared for my needs. Also, check-in was very efficient. I highly recommend this facility for any and all of your medical needs.

My son had surgery in Nov. At the time they told me my portion of the procedure was $3500. I questioned it because I knew the deductible and max out-of-pocket had been met. They said they called and confirmed it and I went ahead and paid. (Son is covered on ex’s insurance). In December insurance confirmed it was covered and Arise was paid. I called Arise and they said they hadn’t received payment yet. I called at the beginning of January. They confirmed receipt of payment and said they would mail me a refund check. I called at the beginning of Feb because I still hadn’t received it. They said the manager would sign the check on 2/12 and then they would mail it. I waited several weeks and gave them the benefit of the doubt since we had the snow storm. I’ve called several times since and they still haven’t mailed the refund check. As of today, 3/9, I still don’t have it. They have kept $3500 that didn’t belong to them for 3 1/2 months. That’s theft in my book.

Not to mention I was there waiting during my son’s surgery. They waited until they loaded him in my car in pain before giving me the post-op instructions in the car. So he sat their writhing for 15 minutes when they could have provided that info to me at any time during the 6-7 hours I was waiting.

Like most of the times, there are good and bad things to say:

The good: Facilities are Ok, no issues there.

The bad: Billing, Billing department is very inefficient: If you read other reviews, most of the complains are about billing, is impossible to communicate with them, they do not call you back and they mess up the bill.

My Case: For starting there are two account numbers in the Bill, no explanation for that: 80078298G, 294581, the bill shows a balance, and such balance is there because they sent the bill to the insurance and the Insurance requested a documentation of the implant put in my wife and they haven't sent that to the insurance, and instead of sending the documentation they sent me a bill. Now I'm constantly trying to get in touch to get the situation straightened but as other reviews say: it's impossible to communicate with the Billing department.

Summary: If your procedure is not urgent, try to find a place where billing works, because the last thing you want to think about during a recovery is whether this place is going to mess up your bill and you are going to go through hell to get it fixed.

Update: Was able to communicate, seems to be easier in the early morning, called and they said to disregard current Bill I received since they are working with the insurance, wonder if after due date they will just send the account to collection despite "working with the insurance" like other reviews have mentioned, since it's all verbal, nothing written for that part. It was an "Error" to send that bill, disappointment.

I had hernia surgery at Arise. The staff was amazing. They were all so nice and professional. It was clear they all enjoyed their work.

Each person who would be responsible for some part of my care came to see me before the surgery. They explained every step and made sure I was comfortable. Great place and much better than a hospital.
