I was told by Grande Communications associates and RCN managers that they do not take formal complaints over the phone or through chat, so they recommended that I just post my complaint here.so, as they wish.

I was formerly a Grande Customer 2017 to 2020 (not by choice, but because the apartment complex I lived in partnered with them for internet services). Everything was okay with them at first. I used my own modem to save me some monthly charges. There were little upticks in micro charges here and there, but nothing substantial. I wasn't too happy with the overall monthly costs, but after a few calls to cancel services, they were able to lock in a monthly rate that works for us (funny how that works when you try to leave, they move mountains for you the customer). The real head aches started when I actually did leave Grande because I moved to a new house who's area was not serviced by them early this year.

I was threatened with past due invoices and mail correspondences about taking me to collections agencies for a modem that I never even got/utilized. Again, I provided my own modem to help cut monthly costs as stated esrlier. After months and months of past due invoices letters and being sent to collection letters, I've had enough. I spent maybe 2 months back and forth with a variety of customer service agents and managers all who were very mixed in professionalism. Sometimes you'll get lucky and get a really nice person, and most of the time, you'll get poor representatives who just make you feel like you are the one at fault and are a dead beat.please give us the modem or pay the close to $100 bucks that you owe.

I will conclude that after 3+ months of repeated systematic incompetence and being providedwith miss information, they were able to locate the alleged "unreturned modem" which was found in inventory in another one of their warehouses. I'm giving Grande 1 star not because I got my money back (finally), but because there was one customer service agent Anissa, who actually stood out and LISTENED, and treated me like a human being (and not a dead beat customer). It was Grande's fault for the mix up, yet she out of the 10+ people I talked to actually empathized, and APOLOGIZED and made sure to get things right. So to you Anissa, thank you and to the corporation, I hope you model your customer service department after her professionalism and genuine concern.

If I had a choice, I would not return back to Grande Communications. Believe what you wish, read all the reviews, and make an educated choice. If you do choose to go with them, KEEP RECORD and Keep a paper trail! Personally, I'm just glad I'm done with them. If this also happened to you, and you'd like to know the three case numbers that helped me get my money back, please feel free to reach out; maybe it can help your case too.

I’m very happy with the service provider. During installation the technician was knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely recommend Astound

Low prices but the absolute worst customer experience. Their support line menu system hangs up at different times. I can never get through for support. The online chat has long wait times and they'll ask you to reboot your modem and then disconnect the chat while waiting for you to return online.

Bad connectivity, constantly throttled bandwidth. Poor customer service in billing issue resolution. Outrageous fees for declined payments. Can't cancel service because they have a deal with my equally terrible apartment complex. Pretty much par for the course in this late-stage capitalist dystopia known as America

This has to be one of the worst internet companies on the market. How is the government letting them operate and take money from people when they have outages all the time. This should be illegal. Their company is literally ripping people off and giving them 3rd world internet service

We got this company a little over a month ago. We have had to restart the remote in our bedroom every other day. When we call a they do is show us how to restart it again. There is clearly something wrong with the equipment and they will not either replace it or send a technician. Very sorry we got this company when we moved and spectrum was not in the area. Spectrum recommended this company, probably someone getting a kick back. Worst decision I’ve made.

Don't ring doorbells at 7pm on a Sunday. Don't leave fliers behind like your casing the joint to see who's not home. Stop it.

Install went fine, but a week later there is still a fiber-optic cable lying across my lawn and they failed to bury it on the planned date - had to chase them up yet again to find that the next planned date is a week out. Not hopeful at this stage.

Update: the very same day that I posted the review above a cable burial guy arrived unannounced and buried the cable! The power of a review I guess. Weird.

Company is charging me $70 for 600mb speed. Current 1000mb speed is now 50$. Not only that, but if I downgraded to 400mb speed I would still pay 70$. You will be stuck if you go with this service. Also attempted to look up ACP eligibility on their website but it directs me to call Customer service (which is usually a 20 min wait to get someone who cannot explain anything). So before you get internet with them, just know the advertised price is missing hidden fees. Your bill will go up in a few months whether they say so or not. They will not care about you once you give in. PLEASE AVOID This company is you can. Customer Service has no power to help you with anything.

If you ever have to downgrade to save money YOU CAN'T.

Signed up for something along the lines of 29.99 or 39.99 a month. Got my first bill. It was $200 got my second bill it was $130. Lol I’m not paying that. Just another company that claims to be affordable for low income people, but takes advantage of them.
