Atmos Energy Corporation, Brownwood TX

We have been fighting with Atmos energy for a year, after they put two large gashes in the trunk of our tree, during their replacement of our gas lines. After this happened, our large, completely healthy, Red Oak tree started showing signs of stress. One limb died within the first year of being damaged and over the year the tree developed Hypoxolyn Cankers that start right at the wound site and go all the way up our dying tree. Atmos hired Duncan to come out and inspect the tree. While on site, he agreed that, it did appear that to be suffering and it originated from that wound site. We were told that we would be getting an email outlining these details, but never heard back from Duncan. Several days later, I get an email from the Atmos legal team showing me an email, from Duncan, saying the opposite of what was discussed on site. Bottom line, this was unethical and clearly driven by who had the bigger wallet and more job opportunities. Despite needing a lot of tree work done on our property, I will not use this company, and am unbelievably disappointed. Now we will be stuck with paying $2,000 to remove, what was a beautiful old Red Oak because of Atmos energy's damage to our property and Duncan's reversal of findings.
