I arrived from San Diego two years ago looking for a BJJ club to continue my BJJ journey with. I tried several places until finally settling at Atos Jiu Jitsu San Antonio with Professor Nuno. From our very first meeting Professor Nuno has demonstrated unrivaled professionalism as a teacher, a mentor, a guide, and through time (on the mat) an honor to call my Professor. Professor Nuno’s second in command and extension of professionalism at Atos Jiu Jitsu San Antonio is Coach Donnie. I have seen my BJJ grow here as well as friends of mine in San Diego. When I visit and participate in open mats or classes, friends out there tell me to keep doing what I’m doing, personally this is a testament to training under Professor Nuno. I have made good friends here through training (very good training partners) and putting in time/commitment on the mat to be apart of this club. I have endless stories and accolades to speak about Professor Nuno and Coach Donnie at Atos San Antonio but what I say to most people I talk to when I speak about Atos Jiu Jitsu San Antonio is, if you want QUALITY jiu jitsu make this place your club. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Professor Nuno and Coach Donnie!

Dropped in when I was in town for a conference. This gym lives up to the Atos name. Everyone was super welcoming and I the training was top notch. Thanks so much for the rolls.

My son has been attending ATOS a couple months now and I am very impressed with how discipline and motivated he is.

My reasons for joining Atos BJJ, training, and staying.

1) I've been training at Atos for almost a year! BJJ is not easy. It's humbling. You're paradoxically not as tough and tougher than you think you are. The attrition rate is hard won. You must be in touch with that innate part of you that wants to fight. There is nothing static about this type of fitness. BJJ unifies mind, body and spirit. Each rolling session connects you to the historical lineage passed down from individuals who developed this art form. First through combat then through sport.

2) I'm more confident. This mindset positively carries over into my life outside the gym!

3) BJJ only begins to reveal itself as a human chess game with more time on the mat. It's like a game of decoding. Every sparring match is like trying to unlock a level. You attempt the level again and again until something new unlocks. The rewards are harder to come by. The pressure test of sparring reveals the type of inward monologue you have. Underneath all of the friendly competition is the innate understanding that the moves you are practicing are actually life and death. Being in touch with this aspect of humanity puts reality into a different perspective!

4) I developed bonds with my training partners. I met the most grounded people who genuinely appreciate my presence and efforts on the mat. Likewise, I appreciate theirs.

5) Respect is paramount. How could it not be when learning an art form that can be used to incapacitate a person?

6) Professor Nuno is dedicated to the practice. He demonstrated his mastery and passion in competition and through the community he's built. It's important that your teacher lives, breathes and eats the art form. The high standard he demanded of himself is now set as a bar for you to achieve. His teaching reflects the quality of every teacher he studied under.

If anything I said resonates with you, visit Atos. A year from now you will have wished you started today.

My kids love Atos! We have been coming here for 2 years and they have learned so much and have grown confident. Professor Nuno is so patient with the kids and you can tell he is passionate about what he does.

Atos jiu-jitsu has been wonderful for my two boys. They are learning new skills, discipline, self-control and working with others. They love to show up before class to play with friends and get extra energy out. My husband also goes in the morning. Our whole family is into Jiu-jitsu and loves it!

ATOS is fantastic at instilling the ability to protect ourselves in our littlest ones! Plus, helps kids learn new skills, like rope climbing. Amazing teachers with great funds of knowledge when it comes to combat, kids, and everything in between. Highly recommend!

An exceptional program for children. The instruction and coaching seems consciously designed for children to learn and thrive in life. It is fun watching the kids spar with zero animosity, simply having fun and improving. I particularly love the confidence that the girls display and they routinely exceed the ability of the boys. Incredible program.

We have absolutely loved our experience with Atos! My boys have gained so much confidence, strength, and discipline from only 7 months of classes. Would recommend to anyone with active kids!

My son, Brady, has absolutely loved Atos and Professor! All he can talk about is Jiu-Jitsu and going to class to see Professor. He has learned a ton in such a short time span and is gaining confidence in himself. Would recommend 10/10 times.

Great instructor for children and best I’ve ever had. My kids have been rolling with Professor Nuno for two years and have made improvements on and off the mats. Their self discipline and over all resiliency have increased tenfold. They also have a blast every time they here.

Started at ATOS with my son about 1 1/2 years ago and just loving it. Had done some Jiu Jitsu some years ago. Quality at this school is just on another level! Great School! Incredible instruction! Great people to roll with everyday. Never have left a class without learning something new!

My son and I have been training at ATOS for two and a half years. I saw ATOS as an opportunity to spend time with my son and learn a new skill. Our journey has accomplished those goals and more. Training at ATOS has been an awesome journey. I have seen my son grow as a young man in his confidence, and I’ve seen him develop life skills such as the ability to communicate with a variety of different people. Professor Nuno is unrivaled in his knowledge, skill, and ability to instruct. He is highly professional and personable and works equally well with kids and adults. I can think of nowhere else I would rather train.

Just did a trial for my three girls in anticipation of potentially moving to San Antonio and if this were the deciding factor, we would have moved yesterday. Excellent facility, knowledgeable teachers, great classes, and my girls LOVED it.
