Austin Floor Pros

We recently worked with Brazos, Danny, Ray and their team on retiling our entire house, backsplash and kids shower wall replacement. They did an excellent job, and new tiles were installed very professionally, all details are impeccable, even in my husband’s picky eyes! We appreciate that everybody on the team is super nice and professional. They made the whole process smooth and pleasant. They accommodate all our needs as best they can. The price was reasonable for the excellent work. We understand all house projects can run into different sorts of issues, we only had a few minor ones and Brazos team fixed them very quickly, and made sure we are satisfied with the results.

A couple of minor caveats here:
1. I had a different (too optimistic) timeline in mind at first without knowledge of how tile work is like, given a small hard working crew, overall project for about 450 sqft of tiles, a small shower wall, backsplash and baseboards took about 3 weeks. We have some flexibility so this didn’t affect us too much. If someone needs a very quick job, I would double check to make sure they can fit your schedule.

2. Even though we chose the dustless demo, there was still a lot more dust than what we can accept. Brazos was receptive of our feedback and provided a good solution afterward. I wish it was better informed and we would be better prepared.

3. We also feel like some details on what needs to be done and work allocation between the plumber and the flooring company was lost in communication, we had to made sure a few times but we could be equally at fault. It can be frustrating at times and cause delays.

Overall we are very happy with Austin Floor pros, they are a small local company we can trust to do quality work. We strongly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good flooring company!

We worked with Austin Floor Pros to put glue down hardwood floors through our entire house. Ray was quick to come give us a quote and always responsive to my many, many questions leading up to the project. The floors were installed very well and look amazing, they've completely transformed our house. I also appreciate how detailed the invoices were for our project so we knew exactly what certain charges were. Thank you!

Brazos and his team did a fantastic job. I very much respected the way that they priced out everything from top to bottom so I knew what I was paying not only per room but per line item.
The end result was much better than I actually expected.
I was getting a whole house remodeled, they even worked with my painters which meant that they had to come back even after everything was done.
I also needed a unique transition for a spiral staircase, and they went above and beyond to make it happen.

We had a great experience with Austin Floor Pros! Brazos/his team was great from start to finish. We updated four bathrooms - new floor tile, shower floor tile, and shower wall tile in each; new kitchen backsplash; new flooring throughout entire house. While you can get all materials through Austin Floor Pros (if desired) ; we were able to pick out and buy all the materials from a large retailer (which was super helpful for us living out of state at the time as we could see everything in-person we wanted to buy), which many others we contacted would not allow us to do. Moving from out of state, we wanted to get all this work done asap to be able to move into our house. Brazos was amazing at getting teams out to the house to get the work done in a very expedited timeframe.and not only get the work done, but get the work done at a very high quality. Brazos and team were also very flexible and accommodating to our changing needs, and was able to step in and do additional work not originally in scope, and still complete everything in our expedited timeframe. On top of all this, the communication was terrific. We knew when teams would be at the house, and they all showed up on time and as expected. Overall, cannot say enough great things about Brazos and Austin Floor Pros - high quality, great communication, teams show up when expected, work completed on time!

I had a water leak and had to replace all of my floors. They were very knowledgeable, professional, and did a great job! The floors look beautiful. I would highly recommend them.

These guys did a phenomenal job on our floors! We couldn’t be happier. We can tell they paid attention to detail and made sure everything was perfect. And they were super kind and professional, and made the whole process easy for us.

Replaced over 1200 square feet of flooring (including a stair way) with LVP using Austin Floor Pros. The process was stressful (picking the flooring, moving, etc) but Danny and Brazos walked us through the process and made it as easy as possible (including arranging a POD delivery to store furniture). The demo and installation was incredibly fast and the quality was top notch. We ran into a couple issues and they were quick to come up with a solution and work with us to fix them. I would highly recommend Austin Floor Pros to anyone looking to do some remodeling. In the future we have some carpet to replace and will be looking to go back to them for that work.

Thank you to Ray and Danny for the incredible work on rebuilding my fireplace. It absolutely love it! This is the second remodeling job I have used Austin Floor Pros for and they did not disappoint. They were very professional, communicated frequently, were always on time and incredibly thorough! I would recommend them to anyone!

We worked with Austin Floor Pros to install new flooring over polished concrete. Despite being a small space, the project involved some complexities and constraints that took some creative solutions and patience to solve—Brazos and his team were great partners and determined to find solutions. Installation was a breeze; Danny and the crew were super efficient and respectful of the fact that we were working from home, and they made amazing time. The final result turned out great, and we couldn’t be happier. Thanks for doing a great job!

This is the best flooring company in Austin and probably the state. The owners are professional and experts when it comes to your flooring needs. I highly recommend Austin Floor Pros!

Update 11/28/22: over a year later, I need a new dishwasher and I find old tile partially broken under my dishwasher. How lazy and unprofessional as if I would never see this? ! Truly the “gift” that keeps on giving. I’m speechless. See last photo.

Original review:
The reason I went with Austin Floor pros is purely because of the reviews. However, I'm a bit disappointed in the workmanship that resulted in my renovation. There were a lot of things that went "wrong" but Brazos “tried” to fix most of them, not all. The scope of our renovation was: new backsplash, all new counters in kitchen and bathrooms, leveling out the pony wall, all new floors for a 2300 square feet home, and removing a wall/door into the office. We were estimated for about one week to get it all done. I had a lot of personal items lined up based on this date.

Things that went wrong:
1. The timeline extended from 1 week to 4.5 weeks for various reasons: having to call a plumber and a foundation person, not enough backsplash was ordered, and just slipping timeline daily.
2. We did not redo our baseboards but they were not protected during renovation and I am now currently on my knees fixing them on my days off because I do not want to pay another $2k to get them fixed by somebody else. Brazos tried to make it right by having a cleaner try to clean them off. How do you clean off chunks of grout? Or missing chunks of wood? He legit told me it would’ve cost him extra and eat into profits to protect it
3. I had to hire a handyman to put my faucets back on because Brazos made it clear they do not do any plumbing which I understand but they were able to put the toilets back on because they had to use them? ! Pretty sure that’s plumbing.
4. We were surprised with a $2k difference without any warning or justification.
5. Backsplash edging was jagged as shown in pic. We were told this is what happens to shiny finish backsplashes? ! Backsplash grout is also extremely uneven and not pleasant. I’ll probably have someone else rip it out in a few years.
6. Missing chunks of cabinet/kick boards
7. We were told the tile would be a waterfall pattern and 1/3 offset. There were areas that did not follow the pattern and the offset was extremely close together. Later we were told that’s not what was said.

Overall, I was very disappointed in the experience. Please see present day pics attached. These pics don’t include the things that were fixed within the 4.5 weeks. People were literally coming in and out of the house after we had moved in to fix little things here and there. If more care was taken to protect things that were not within their scope, it would've saved me a lot of pain, time, and made the experience a bit better.
