Austin Police Department Recruiting

I wanted to put this everywhere I can, around 8: 30 am today (3/10) my Kia Soul got a flat tire in the fast lane on the South Bound Mopac Expressway and after numerous calls to tow truck services I was instructed to contact 911 as where I was on the shoulder of the fast lane is dangerous and could cause an accident. I called, and police showed up on the seen within 10 mins or less and I was assisted by Officer Sanchez (I was flustered and think his badge was 6827 or 29). He was a hero and gentleman through and through; he immediately went into action and changed my tire while talking to me (which is nowhere in an officers job description). He had his fellow officer block off the fast lane while he worked quickly to assist me. Not enough officers get appropriate recognition or commentary when they do wonderful things like this. He save my morning (and possibly several accidents from happening). Thank you so much Officer Sanchez, I hope this reaches you. I come from a family of cops (father and brother) and know that you had more important things to do like protecting the community - thank you for taking the time to help me and a thank you to the Austin police department for hiring men like Officer Sanchez who are great people and excellent officers. -Christi Cerami-Zambrano
