Austin Regional Clinic: ARC Seton Northwest

I’m so incredibly disappointed in Dr. Durreshahwar Khan and the lack of care I’ve received from her and her staff.

I’ve been on the same hormonal birth control pills for the last 16 years. My 3 months supply ran out right before my wedding. I realized it about 4-5 days before the pills ran out and called my pharmacy to get a refill. It was denied and they told me to call my doctor. I did and explained that I needed one more month called in before I could come in for an appointment because I was about to leave for Cancun for my wedding in 3 days. The nurse said she had to schedule me an appointment before she could even request my refill from the Dr, so I did that. And then the next 3 days I called for updates and was ignored. My Rx never got called in, and I had to sign up for an online service to get my BC (which they called in for me within 24hrs). This was so much stress and anxiety I didn’t need during an already stressful week! I was completely willing to come back in for an appointment two weeks from when I made the call! All this for a hormone pill I’ve been on over half my life, that also would have sent me into an emotional tailspin if I had to have withdraws for my wedding week. (Which is where she left me in my situation with no resolution) Not to mention, we’re not ready to try for children yet and the effects of her negligence could have resulted in an unwanted pregnancy.

Pathetic excuse for patient service, and I will NEVER see this doctor again! Find someone who has some compassion and understanding as your provider. She isn’t it.

This practice is 100% incompetent to the point where I felt unsafe.

Today I went in for my women’s wellness checkup. I ended up in a room where a doctor, not my regular doctor, came in suddenly and ask if I had seen a nurse. Flabbergasted, I said no. I waited for a while until the nurse came in for my vitals and med check. None of my meds were in the chart, not even my IUD which the practice put in with my mother present at the procedure. The nurse said she couldn’t find a record of my IUD.

A few minutes after the nurse left, I felt terribly unsafe. I did not want to be treated by someone who, even though they inserted the IUD, denied that I had one. It was important to me to have my strings checked and I was realizing the incompetence of the situation. I waited quite a while after I put on my gown then changed back into my real clothes. While I did this, the front desk called me telling me I was late and wanted to let me know I missed my appointment. I told them I was already here and the receptionist blamed the staff changes during shifts.

The lack of organization too unsafe. I had to do something. So I walked out.

The manager nurse called me after I left and asked why I had left ARC. I explained my situation and she looked into what happened. She came to the conclusion that there was another patient with my last name whose file had been pulled, which was why the other nurse didn’t know I had an IUD. Hmmm. I had been to this doctor before and she denied I had an IUD. I had been here multiple times and my trust had been damaged. The clinic had pulled the other Mullen file repeatedly. This was unsafe for both myself and the patient with the same name.

The manager called again and wanted me to have a telemed with the doctor. This did not comfort me. I told the manager that my chart could get messed up again and I did not want to see the ARC doctor at all.

ARC offered to help me find a better doctor in the ARC system, but I wholeheartedly do NOT trust their lack of organization. Now I am searching for the most highly rated GYN in the Austin area.

ARC, please get yourself together.

Really disappointed with my appointment with Dr. Hansen-Peterson. I mean no disrespect to her or her practice, however if you are a younger person with a more detailed medical history because of chronic illness and family medical history, I do not recommend this doctor. Felt extremely rushed. Wasn’t offered really any medical decision making in my own testing and appointment. Just overall left feeling bleh.

Good luck if you ever try to get on the phone with these people to change a prescription or answer a question it takes 3 hours to get any help. Worst clinic ever.

Fake doc, Michael Andreo has zero experience healing patients. He is a surgeon that clearly past his prime and is rude to patients. I literally crawled away from him on hands and knees and I am so glad I did! Texas Orthopedics did a much better job healing me. Andreo should retire in disgrace and ARC should refund me $370 for his terrible five-minute, insulting and condescending appointment.
