Staff is top-notch. A lot of people complain, but you have to be patient and work the system.

It’s the VA. You get the worst of the worst doctors. Years ago, they over-prescribed pin medication and now they act like it’s the patients fault and will not prescribe anything for pain. Not sure why patients have to suffer for their mistakes.

All the negative reviews here made me worry from seeing any doctors or specialists for years till my doctor for decades passed. Now my current doctor stopped accepting my health care provider so I had no choice. Had to drive an hour there but most of the time traffic is normal. There are 2 additional toll-freeways to get there compare to just 1 and 1 back road years ago. Other than the psychologist not providing me work excuse letter, this facility has been 5 stars. They call back for follow-up appointments, and you can directly communicate with any of your doctors via VA emails. Meds refill notifications via text or personal email. Sometimes all of us needs to be more patient.and am not the most patient vet out there. Pls try em.

Staff and visitors treat each other with respect. Lab work does not require an appointment, but there is usually a wait for service at the lab. There's quite a bit of staff turnover, especially with primary care physicians. This location does not have facilities for cardiac pacemaker checkups, or for cataract surgery; those are at the Temple location.

Good luck trying to get ahold of anyone here via landline. In person service is also the worst I've ever experienced. Lackadaisical and rude staff. I need the direct complaint number or email

Do they ever pick up the phone? Like Seriously…. I was given their number by the VA to make an appointment as I recently got approved for VA health insurance and after multiple attempts calling them spanning a few weeks I still have not been seen or had my call answered. Guess i’ll just go in to schedule an appointment.

The facility is really nice and clean. The staff were really helpful and I didn't feel like a burden. Happy to come back for more nedical treatment here. Seems like they legitimately care.

As long as you know what you're dealing with, keeping in mind that this is a government facility full of red tape, and that the VA is a huge organization that spans across the country with dozens of regional clinics, you will realize that the Austin VA clinic is quite nice. I have had nothing but good experiences visiting the Austin VA facility. First off, it's a beautiful, new, modern building with tons of parking, clean restrooms and comfortable waiting areas. I have personally visited physical therapy, imaging, and a pain specialist. I have been pleasantly surprised in the qualifications of the healthcare providers. As someone who is generally skeptical of doctors and prefers a more holistic approach to managing one's personal health, I have found the care to be very satisfactory, no unnecessary drugs have been pushed on me, no impulsive suggestions for surgery, and the care I have received has been extremely helpful to my personal recovery. Don't get me wrong, I've had plenty of frustrations with the VA as a whole regarding scheduling, transferring records between regional clinics, and disability claims, and various other things, but the Austin VA clinic has given me no such troubles.yet. Sometimes it can be a little difficult to get through to a receptionist when scheduling an appointment, but when you spend five minutes waiting to check-in for an appointment, and realize how heavy the call volume they receive is, you become quickly aware that they are managing a lot of appointments so the long call wait is justified. All in all, so far I've had very good experiences with the Austin VA clinic!

Dr. Si a Neurologist at the Austin VA gets my 5 Star Rating! Excellent Phyician and very tentative my Neuro needs. Squeezed me in and took the time to relate to my tremmer issues, along with her associate doctor. I Thank Them So Much!

Absolute trash.it takes months to even get an issue addressed not to mention the months it takes to get on that treatment. Also, I have to call them 1-3 times a week to keep treatments going, but every single time I call, i can kiss that day goodbye.sometimes you get lucky and youre only on hold for 10 minutes, but usually its 1-2 hours listening to the same stupid commercial about "managing stress and weight" over and over and over and over and over and over and over.words literally cannot describe how disappointed I am with this level of care or express my disdain for this facility. It should be illegal how poorly veterans are treated here

Just tried calling to schedule an appointment operator nine said G. I.clinic was closed at 4 o’clock. The nurse that I spoke to on the phone said that wasn’t true and she could not help me schedule a colonoscopy very Fed up with the VA services.

Big change from the busy and crowded Florida VA clinics. Here appointments happen on time and there are very few lines or waits. The downside is the hospital is not convenient if you need services only available at the hospital. My town, Bastrop, has ER’s but the closest hospital is 40 minutes away. Not ideal. I know one is planned but at my age I might never see it.

I cannot account for others, but since I've been seen here I've been taken care of well. There have been phone 'musical chairs' and waiting at times however, I learned they are short staffed. These few things don't outweigh the care given from personnel. I've received informative information, that isn't commonly known or easy to find out, without asking. The VA as a whole is a challenge to understand, but this facility has been helpful.

Always a long wait. Still waiting 45 mins past my appointment time and the lady at the desk was snippy and rude when I was trying my hardest to be nice.

After a 32-year military career, I've been generally blessed with good health. I'm new to the Austin area and adore this VA facility. Parking is ample, and the staff is very courteous, beautifully designed, and maintained. They have activities for all and a nice little Cafe. Well done Team VA! I loved the performance by the Victory Belles on 4/13. Keep up the great work.
