Used this notary twice before with no problems at all; was in and out in a matter of minutes both times.

In response to the review left by Kristalynn Castro, I must add that as a Notary Public myself, the information provided by Rodriguez Notary Public was actually accurate. The form you were seeking to have notarized is called a Form i-9 and can not be notarized legally by any Texas Notary Public. State law does not grant Notaries Public that authority (notarizing the potential employee's signature and verifying their identification is in effect completing the form on behalf of the employer). The other Notary who did notarize your document did so illegally and is at risk of losing their commission.

From the Texas Secretary of State website:

Frequently Asked Questions for Notaries Public:

Can I complete a Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, on behalf of an employer?

No. Although the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) would allow a notary public to fill out Form I-9 on the behalf of an employer, Texas notaries public are not provided this authority under Texas law. Therefore, if an employer requests that you complete any portion of a Form I-9 in your capacity as a notary public, you should refuse.
