I really like the end product of my hair coloring! My natural color is a dark brown/black and I told them I wanted a auburn/reddish color. Very happy with the end result.

Was really happy with my 1st visit, however when it was time for my 2nd visit (just a cut) 5 weeks later, I was called (by the receptionist) and told my appointment had to be moved to a later time that day and even then the stylist would only have time for a wet cut. When I asked if there were any other options she was curt and said "no". When I told her that time wouldn't work for me she said "ok we will cxl". No attempt at offering another day. Not great service, guess my buiness wasn't wanted or needed. I found another salon.

I recently got my hair done, both cut and color at Avalon Hair Designs and Hannah was my stylist. And it is the best haircut I have had in a very long time. She was great to work with and also the results were amazing. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a hairstylist.

I’ve moved to San Antonio in November 2020. I’ve been looking for a hair salon that can color match and do blonde highlights properly and I’ve had three terrible experiences in the process! Then I found Natalie at Avalon Hair Designs. I can’t give a higher recommendation! Excellent service! Perfect color matching! My wedding is 2 weeks out and I was terrified trying a new salon so close to the big day, but what a relief. She worked her magic and my hair looks perfect. Thank you Natalie!

For the rating of the AVALON SALON, the way the hairdresser let me leave the salon was 100% NOT PROFESSIONAL. I had toner IN AND ON my ears and on the sides of my face/forehead, wish I would have noticed before getting up from chair. 10/10 would NOT recommend, the prices don’t match the work of the hairdresser being messy and not noticing while styling my hair that I had toner where toner should NOT be. If a salon wants to charge as a high rating salon, they need to DELIVER work as a high rating salon. AND THIS IS NOT IT. (if you are new in town looking for a salon, HONEY KEEP LOOKING!)

Yesterday was my first time at Avalon as a new client. My appointment was with Johnny and I have to say that was the best experience I’ve ever had at a hair salon. He was patient and really listened to what I wanted. He explained everything he was doing and asked really great questions on what I’ve done with my hair in the past. Knowing that getting good information on the life of my hair would make such a difference on the outcome I was looking for. We connected instantly and had so much fun with the appointment. He is just so kind and I can’t wait to go back. AND my hair looks amazing! Thank you for such an awesome experience!

I won't go anywhere else to get my hair cut! I have only been to Sarahlynn but she does wonders for my hair so I don't need to try anyone else! My hair grows like crazy when she cuts it and I love how great it looks! I always feel welcomed at Avalon!

Based on the responses from the owner on poor reviews I would never go to Avalon. I was about to make 3 appts for us.created new customer account: (. Yelp reviews had the same types of complaints so these are not isolated issues. There are too many salons in San Antonio to settle on questionable ethics especially during pandemic times.

I had a basic cut and hair dying, I had to go back several times due to unequal cutting of my hair. They didn't listen to the way I wanted my hair to be cut and dyed. Definitely not worth the price that I paid for.

I moved to SA about a year ago and searched high and low for a new stylist. I am a blonde and finding stylists specializing in blondes can be difficult! After seeing their work on Instagram, I chose Avalon Hair Designs and I could not be happier! Angie is my stylist and at my first appointment she suggested taking me from a warm blonde which covered my gray roots, to ashy blonde and blending my gray, all the while maintaining the integrity of my hair. Every single appointment, my hair gets better and better! 5 stars for Angie and Avalon Hair Designs!

I had never had my hair done before and I decided to get balyage because A friend referred me to the salon. I specifically asked for Clarissa because she did such a great job on my friend that I decided to change it up a bit! Fast forward, I got my hair done in 2016 and I loved it! I still go to this day and always ask for Claire because I trust her!

I’ve been seeing Julia at Avalon salon for 2 years now! I’ve loved all of her work! From a full bleach out to simple highlights and cuts! She’s definitely earned my loyalty!

This is the best hair salon I have ever been too! Everyone is always so nice and I never have to wait too long. Julia Benton is my hair dresser and I am so glad I found her. She always does an outstanding job on my hair and I always have fun when I go to get my hair done! I highly recommended Avalon hair designs and Julia Benton!

The girl who did my hair messed up my hair and didn't give me what I wanted. She was very rude when I told her I didn't like it but it wasn't even what I asked for. I had to go back 2 times after the initial first time. Although the experience with this girl, Unique, was terrible, the salon itself was great and friendly and did help me until we achieved something closer to what I wanted and the girl who helped her the 3rd time was nice and actually helped me more than Unique and was friendly.

I’ve had my hair done by Clarissa for years, she is seriously the best! She’s so detail oriented, and makes me feel so good about myself every time I walk out of the salon! Would definitely recommend Avalon to all my friends and family.

Brittany D is the best! She did my updo, my sister's hair and my mom's hair for our wedding and we all loved her friendliness, professionalism and the end result.

I've started coming here within the past few months and have loved the services I receive each time. Today, I had my hair colored by Fab and she did outstanding work as always! This is the first time I've been happy about my hair cuts and color is a very long time.

First time going to Avalon Salon and I had a great experience. Clarissa was so nice and did an amazing job with my cut a color. I always walkout somewhat disappointed at other salons, but not here. Recommend Clarissa.

This place is awesome! The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I have had cut and styles from both Mel and Kat, who are both amazing!
