Avalon Nails & Spa, San Angelo TX

So I went into this salon today and I asked for pink instead of white and she didn’t give me what I wanted then she did my nails really messy I am not satisfied with them at all and she was rude I have been here a few times before and they were good but not this visit all I asked for was a pink French tip

I usually come to Avalon in a pinch since they are close to where I work. I came in one day to get a fill and shellac. The lady asked me in the middle of nails if I would like to have chrome. I wasn’t sure what that was so she said she would try on a finger and I could decide from there. I ended up liking it and asked for it on all my nails. These nails are good, I do love the them. I get ready to check out and price was higher than usual. I asked why and she said $15 dollar for chrome. She NEVER told me what the price would be before or during the time she was applying the chrome. When I said that to her, she said “Oh I forgot. Usually customers know the pricing. ” I said no how would I have if I didn’t know what chrome was? She then proceeds to get sarcastic and says we can take off $5. I said no that’s not what this is about, it’s about you not telling me in the first place. She then tells me well we can take them off or you pay the amount. I paid and left the store. The customer service is not what I was expecting. Never recieved an apology. I also heard conversations between coworkers about their experience working there. I will not be back. This is not the first time something like this has happened. So beyond frustrating.

I've been going here for years now and today I will say I am very happy with the way my nails turned out as usual but I will say that the prices they have advertised online they do not honor and are shocked when you show them, I don't understand why even put them online if that's not accurate then maybe they need to update or not lie to customers.

Kiwi and his wife just gave us the best pedicures of our life! Avalon has options from completely basic to more than we’ve ever spent. We went middle of the road and had the best experience ever! Can’t wait to go back and see what the even higher levels entail!

I was very satisfied with my nails & enjoyed the foot massage Definitely would go back & recommend.

John was phenomenal. He took his time and was very thorough. Very detail oriented. His customer service was top notch. He explained anything that I had a question about, making sure that I was comfortable before proceeding with my pedicure. As for my nails, he took the same care in making sure that I was happy with my results. If you are in need of a good mani/pedi, go see John. He will not disappoint!

Nails were fine, nothing great nothing terrible. However, I was pretty appalled at the extremely dirty and packed fish tank in the shop. It saddens me that there was definitely 5x the amount of fish that should be in a tank that size and the clear neglect to the murky green tank was very noticeable. I’d recommend just not having a fish tank if there is not time to take care of it. I will not be returning, what a sad way to spend your life.

Went today saw John with my girl and he helped us out so very much that HE created repeat customers!

Very nice salon, efficient and friendly service. Only had a Pedi done but satisfied. I love their color selection!

If you value your natural nails, I would not recommend coming here.

I made an appointment and came here originally because I wanted to just try a different place, but I shouldn’t have even bothered. Van completely lacked nail care or any type of gentleness. I came in with a dip powder set on. Looking to get it removed and get a new set since it was due. Instead of soaking off the dip powder, it was apparently decided that taking a fake nail tip and TEARING OFF MY NAILS UNDERNEATH was the best course of action! This was a painful process. Her shoving this fake nail between the powder and my real nail to remove my set was mortifying. I told her it hurt. And I pointed out how she was ripping my nails and that I WANTED to keep them and how she broke some. 4 of my nails were torn down to the nub of my fingers. And another 3 are visibly shredded at the tip. The remaining 3 that kept their length are hanging on by a thread. All my nails have visible divots where they’re now thinner thanks to Van and her method of removing the nails that I had been growing out for 3 months.

Additionally, I didn’t feel listened to. Because as she verified at the beginning of the appointment I was doing dip powder, she proceeds to try and put acrylic on my nails without at least asking me first. With the selling point of them “being stronger and cheaper” AFTER I called her out on doing something different than what I asked. I had to reiterate that I wanted dip powder. And nothing else. Nothing fancy.

Ultimately she did manage the almond shape just fine. And when she asked I agreed the nails looked GOOD. But not much else was going for them and it was more obvious after I left. Turn my nails to the side and even with the powder on, there are still divots in my nails. Turn my hands palm-side up and you can see a gap between my nail and the tip/powder for a few of them.

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a nail appointment. I felt rushed, mishandled, and uncared for as I trusted Van with my nails. I’m out of almost $70 and out of my natural nails I had been growing for months. I have no intentions of going back and I’d recommend those considering here try elsewhere.

I got a full set of nails done on 7/10 for $89.00 within a week I had too go back because two tips came completely off and was charged another $67.16 because the chrome was also coming off and she had to change the color on all of them. Not to mention she was mad because I didn't know the base color that was used the first time. She rolled her eyes and was yanking my arm because she said I was to rough on nails. I had three nails break within the next day. I was not doing anything strenuous to break them. The tips literally were not put on well and would break right where the tip was glued. One came off while scratching my arm and the others while I was getting money out of my wallet. I will no longer being going back to get them fixed.

Horrible experience. Rude staff and Mr nails look terrible. Went back in and it looks even worse. Way high priced for poor service

Not very friendly staff although I was their only customer there. But pedicure turned out good.

The first time I went it was a wonderful experience. I got an acrylic refill and design painted on. Not even a week and a half later all the gel paint was cracked and peeling off my set. I thought maybe it was from our trip to the beach for the fourth. I recently went back for a refill and new design. Not even 24 hours later it was peeling AGAIN. I got the nail fixed for free. Three days later other nails are showing the same signs of peeling/chipping on the paint job. Unfortunately due to this I’m going to give a very low rating. I shouldn’t have to make a million trips to the salon to keep a manicure in shape.

I do believe it’s also because they don’t allow the top coat to seal to the edges of the nails and wipe it off before it cures.
