Avila's Mexican Food reviews
17 The servers were friendly and the restaurant, including the bathrooms, was clean and well kept. Overall the atmosphere was nice.
The food was good but not great. The beans had a canned flavor as did the salsa. I'm not saying they were canned/bottled but the flavor reminded me of that taste. I got the combo #3 plate which had a Chile Relleno, a Taco, an Enchilada, Green Chile with beef, and a Tamal. Along with rice and beans, of course. All were good but not what I would consider exceptionally good.
Still delicious after all these years! Flautas were good. Mexican Combo was just as good.
Would like to try the Fajitas next time.
It was Sunday afternoon so the church crowd was in full swing. To get our order taken was approximately 15 minutes. This is typical of anywhere on Sunday afternoon. The food was good and our waitress was on top of things. I will be back.
The food was delicious.the problem is in the ladies bathroom. It smells like sewer, so l went in to wash my hands.and lost my appetite. The owners should spend some money
FIX.the sewer.
The saying goes.
The kitchen is only clean as the bathrooms.
Only bc you serve sopaipillas at the end means you have to charge like luxurious Restaurant!
Please do something about remodeling take advantage of the pandemic era your place is still from the 60’s and the prices from 2030 OMG!
Not true that we were there a week ago. We stopped going there due you the rude attitude that the young one there has. I believe he is the younger son. Even when ordering out, he is rude and sarcastic. Never more.
Quite good.the salsa is not traditional. Ask for the spicy salsa. Was disappointed that they didn't make their corn tortillas. Other than that was delicious.
Food was delicious as always. I ate chic dish, took carry out- green chile caso steak for my son in Las Cruces. Staff so attentive, ordered extra salsa & sopapillas for home. We miss Bill with Eastside resturant, so glad Westside here. We will be back.
I got a notification my order was ready so I went in, told the lady who then just stood there continuing doing whatever she was doing. About 5 minutes later she disappeared where I waited about 15 minutes before she reappeared with it. Not friendly. Beans were dry & tasted funky. Chips were stale. The fajitas were so bland and the portion was for a tiny child.definitely skimpy. They also did not give tortillas with the fajitas.like, that's the whole point of ordering fajitas. I thought? !
Overall it was BAD; most definitely won't ever return or recommend!
Well I've been wanting to try it for some time, it was like a cheeper version of Leo's! The place is nice want busy, so I ordered an appetizer (Chile con queso) took bout 8 minutes brought 4 plates and the queso, we had chips with salsa but the chips were finished. The server saw that and said she will bring more. Unfortunately she came back with our order as well. Bad timing on servers part, queso got cold and then the food wasn't that tasteful, we should have just gone somewhere else. Wasted 100 dls for cold flavorless food from a can!
My daughter and I were very pleased with Avila's restaurant. They employees were very friendly and helpful. We live in the northeast, but we didn't mind the drive, for it was our first time eating there, so we will visit and recommend Avila's restaurant to others, and the food was delicious. God Bless all the employees and owners of Avila's Restaurant. ️
Took the family here after mass and they loved it. Best service ever. They do need to fix Yelp since Yelp says they are closed on Sundays. Lol
Food is good all the time. The salsa is one of the best that I've tasted. Please make the tacos crispy when the customer requests it. Psalm 39: 4-7
I was asking for a job position, and if they still hiring, and they used a bad language and hung up on me even without a question, This is rude, PEOPLE WE ASKING FOR A JOB BECAUSE WE NEED IT AND OUTSIDE OF YOUR PLACE SAYS THAT YOU'RE HIRING! TOO BAD!
Our Saturday first visit wasn't quit what I expected given how much I hear Avila's is supposed to be a great restaurant.
As soon as we were sat down there was some confusion who was our server.
I ordered a side order of sour cream which was not brought out with the order.
I asked the server for more napkins and she forgot I asked.
I needed to have my drink refilled and the server kept walking around with no direction, and in turn was arguing with the kitchen staff about other people's orders in front of the customers, very unprofessional. The avocado was a little old and the lettuce and meat were not fresh.
I guess that'll be the last time we eat here.
Great food followed by great sopapillas. Service is always good. Keep an eye on the hours as they are limited since COVID. I would definitely call ahead and make sure they're open before heading out.
I'd never been there but I will definitely return
I had the chiles rellenos and they were delicious. The waiter was awesome and the restaurant clean and bright.
