Right headlight of my Avis rental went out in the middle of the night while pouring rain and low visibility.

Avis email indicating drop off was not correct address causing me to drop off the rental after the scheduled time.

DFW Aiport- The worse Avis I have visited. I reserved a luxury car and immediately after driving off the lot and stopping at a grocery store, I discovered the Cadillac was full of cockroaches. Immediately called Avis they said they would tow the car and give me a new one. Got a bill in the mail for the tow although it wasn't my issue on why I didn't want to drive a car full of bugs. Never experienced this type of service before at an Avis.

Initial vehicle that I was assigned was taken/occupied by another party, ended up having to go through the process of being assigned another vehicle. The next vehicle assigned was a 2020 Nissan Murano Florida Lic plate# 02B-KCU, Avis# 98445281, approx 83, XXX miles. Surprising based on the year the vehicle was the condition it was in, the inside was dirty to include windows which contained smear marks, hand prints and foot prints. Once my family and I started our 4hr journey and up to speed on the freeway the vehicle had a horrible shimmy/shake in the front end and definitely didn’t track well within the lane, pulled continuously to the passenger side. This resulted in a constant correction and fight with the vehicle to maintain highway drivability. During the trip, attempted to swap the car with another Avis rental center but never was in good spot or close enough to complete the swap. Upon return notified the drop off center to prevent the next individual and or family to experience what we had to deal with over a span of 350 plus miles. Recommend vehicle expedited to the service department for inspection and maintenance on the front end components. Thank you. Barry Woodson

Heads up don’t prepay for a good price because if you need to add a day they charge you over double. Not a great experience.

Even after completing the vehicle reservation and submitting payment and information on drivers license and photo ID verification, we still had to wait in a mile long line to get a car and had to go through the entire payment and drivers license process again. There was absolutely no point in reserving a car and going through all of those steps ahead of time if we were going to have to wait in an hour long line and do all of the same steps. We planned our day around our scheduled pickup time and were never told this was completely arbitrary.

The car also smelled like smoke and had a cigarette burn right through the drivers seat cushion.

Super disappointing. Agent at the airport tried to sell me prepaid tolls at DFW for $12/day for 3 days. Actual charge was over $49. As a result, I asked for it to be removed which the agent agreed to do. She then said I didn't really need tolls anyway to get to Waco. This was true. I didn't ever use a toll road. When I returned the car, the receipt still had the $49+ toll fee. When I called Avis refused to remove it. When I asked them to check with the agent that tried to sell them to me, they said they had no record of who that was. Be very careful when renting with Avis.

The pick-up process was disorganized and not safe. There was only one person operating the booth and he was pushing people to accept cars with major issues and snapping at customers who returned to the desk due to a problem. The Express booth had a huge line because people were returning multiple times due to a missing car, missing keys, or damaged vehicle. I was one of several people in line who initially walked to the parking spot listed for my reservation on the AVIS Express display monitor, only to find the space empty.

One woman returned because the car they gave her had three normal tires and one donut/spare (the flat tire from the previous rental was still inside the vehicle). She asked the employee working the booth if she'd be safe driving on the spare tire or if she needed a different vehicle. He seemed just as unsure as she did, but instead of verifying he encouraged her to take the car. She agreed, but seemed uncomfortable. I looked it up afterwards and learned it's only safe to drive on a donut if you don't exceed 50 mph and you travel less than 50 miles in total. I don't think anyone at AVIS knew how many miles the previous renter (s) had already put on that spare.

The first car they tried to give me had an area the size of a grapefruit on the windshield that was intact, but fractured to the point that it was hard to see through.

Windows to include rear view mirrors were very dirty and i had to clean them inside and out so i could see properly.

Terrible experience. The people behind the counter move like sloths. The preferred had 2 people and no customers working and wouldn’t come in to help. Line is at least an hour to get a vehicle I did the precheck for. Not worth renting from

My experience with Avis was great. I was accommodated without a reservation with a smile. The vehicle was a great choice for the money. Two thumbs up.

Unsafe vehicle. Filthy dirty. No help during rental. No people available at drop off. Hopefully something is done with the car before the next person gets it.

The staff was satisfying. The car itself was dirty inside and out. It also had trash and an odor on the inside of the car.

We rented a 12 passenger transit van. And we loved. We are thinking about buying a transit van and will probably look at Avis vans first.

I ran into issue with a gentleman worker at the airport working the release gate at the exit area of the Airport on 11/25/23. The gentleman was extremely rude, put his hand in my car and tossed my license back at me and told me I should have picked it up, I drove out the gate and stopped to look for a customer service number which was closed. I than drove back to the front and spoke with someone from front desk (she was amazing) as were the workers in the preferred booth. I asked to speak with a manager which I was met by a nice gentleman name Danny told him the situation and where it happened.he advised he'd take a look at the recording, got my information and he would reach out. I dropped my car of on Sat 12/2/23 I have called in between that time and spoken with a Sandy (not sure if I spelled that correctly) i have left vms. Spoken with her was advised she'd look into it and I would hear from someone still Nothing! I have been renting with AVis on and off for 13 years and I've never run into an issue and wanted to wait before doing the survey. It is almost week 2 and it's just extremely discouraging on the customer service part especially from the originally situation from the gentleman he was just extremely rude because I'd not looked up at the top to read a sign.

The customer service experience was not good. Waited in line for 35 minutes at DFW to be "greeted" by Mariana, who was not pleasant. When I went to retrieve my vehicle, I was expecting to retrieve from Avis and not Budget's lot. I payed more to get a better quality car with Avis than with Budget. When I got the vehicle, it was dirty from the inside all the way to the outside. I went back to the now 40 minute line to tell them about my car issue. I was told, by the "next available agent", that I needed to see Mariana again to be helped. Why make me wait longer if that agent runs the same computer programs and services? I waited 15 extra minutes for Mariana to free herself up. I told Mariana I needed a different vehicle because the one she got me on was dirty. She told me it was okay if it was dirty outside. I told her no, it's dirty inside and outside and that no, it was not okay to pay for a dirty and smelly vehicle and to please exchange it. She was bothered by my request and said she had no other 12 passenger Vans. I advised her there were several on Avis' lot which is who I had rented from but also advised Budget had some on their side available also. She said none of those were available when in fact, I checked with personnel in the parking lots who advised me they were available. She said she will need to have someone wash the vehicle that was checked out to me. She said it'll take more time and I needed to wait. Then after 35 minutes later, she comes back to say "they" found one Vehicle I could use. It was one of the 2 transits I saw and was previously denied. Now, the vehicle's light engine turned on 30 minutes after I left the lot and the breaks were noisy. Overall, my experience along with the Van's maintenance could've been way better. One thing I am happy about is that I was able to fit my 12 passengers and their luggage on this Van.

The dude at the counter straight up lied about the e-tolling costs to get me to sign up for unlimited e-tolling. I hastily agreed because I was in a hurry and there was a huge line behind me, but what he was saying (that if you don’t sign up for e-tolling in advance and you go through a single toll site you’ll get charged an $8 convenience fee for every day of the rental regardless of whether you use any tolls on any other days) was so insane that I looked it up after, and it’s not true at all, it’s a $6 fee only on days you incur a toll. Dude lied to my face for a commission.
