8 The customer service and friendliness couldn't have been better at this Away store!
I bought the Everywhere Bag in an olive green color. It's a great bag for my needs — and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
The customer service reps seem knowledgeable. My issue is more with away policy. This Away store is not full service. My suitcase needed repairs/replacement under warranty. Following website instructions, I brought it into the store. They told me they could not help me. After some back and forth with offsite customer service reps, the sales person told me they could take my bag but not offer a replacement. Even if it’s part of the standard color line. Away used to have amazing customer service, but they really started scrimping and saving.
Dashed in 5 minutes before closing time. The staff waited on me patiently and went above and beyond to assist me. They stayed well beyond closing to ensure I had the best experience. They assured me I was not inconveniencing them and were uber friendly. I m now an AWAY customer for life.
We are an Away Travel family and couldn't be happier. From the carry-on, to the backpacks/duffles, and of course the large checked suitcases, we love them all. Not to mention, the new redesigned classic line is much improved and makes for smoother travel days. Whether it's a quick weekend getaway or a long-haul international adventure, Away has you covered. I can't say enough of the customer service in the Houston store. Nick and Elise (spelling?) have answered all my questions, are very knowledgeable about each item, and make each customer feel special as soon as they walk in the store. Run, don't walk, to go check out their new pieces!
My favorite luggage store. I bought my 1st suitcase six years ago, -The Bigger Carry-On. In this carry-on, I could pack for nine days, including shoes, jackets, sweaters & toiletries. I was amazed! I love it so much that I have to buy check-in luggage -The Large Flex, a travel bag, - The Medium Everywhere Bag & a backpack, -The Everywhere Zip Backpack. They're worth every penny.
As for the storefront (merchandise aside), the employees are not welcoming or very helpful. At least three employees were present when I walked in, and the employee closest to the door didn’t even acknowledge my presence or ask if I needed help despite not being with a customer. When I shared that I had already made a purchase that I needed to pick up, the same employee still didn’t offer to get the purchase. The other two employees seemed less than thrilled to help. I gave several indications, including my name, about my order for them to retrieve, and it was as though they weren’t even listening. One then asked, “what’s the name? ” I’d already told them! It went further south, but I’ll stop there. It’s far better to just buy online than expect any kind of hospitality or service in store.
Great selection of bags, for personal or business use. The wallets are so cute. The suitcases are sturdy. There is everything you didn’t know you needed.the owner helped me pick the best backpack for my needs.thank's Away!
The handle on my brand new bag broke before I even got to my gate and cut my hand open. Called the store while I was waiting for my flight. Their response: my problem is unfortunate but they won’t replace the bag. So much for the 100 day satisfaction guarantee. The worst customer service I’ve experienced in a long time. Beware!
