Bacaro Kitchen & Wine Bar, Houston TX

First time visiting Bacaro and I loved how welcoming and cozy the restaurant is. The food was great and the service was on point! Highly recommended if you are looking for a great Italian restaurant in the area. Also, I would love to mention how the owners are attentive and care about their customers and their business.

Came here last night while on a work trip. Sat at the bar and was immediately greeted and serviced. Got to meet Bill and he took care of me and my food choices. I had the lasagna which is one of my all time favorite foods and it was so delicious, perfect amount of cheese and seasoning. The rest of the menu looked good too and I am sure I will be back on my next trip. They also have an extensive and impressive wine list with a good variety offered by the glass. I highly recommend trying this restaurant if you haven’t yet.

Great food! Pistachio crusted flounder was fantastic.shrimp and scallop scampi was excellent. Pleasant surprise!

Quite and cozy. Cute for date night, Family style and affordable. But it’s a one time visit for me.

Pretty wine bar with a family friendly feel. This place is very small, but with that comes the intimate atmosphere. They have a decent sized patio right off the front entrance of the restaurant. When you enter the doors of the restaurant, you are immediately inside the dining area with the L shaped bar a few steps from the door. Like I said, it is very small. I chose this place because a friend of mine raved about it and I knew they would have the Astros game on that particular day. We sat at the bar and even though it was a post season game, they did not have the audio playing. My friend and I shared the Risotto and a small basket of bread with butter. We enjoyed a couple glasses of wine each and called it a night, for there anyway. It was imperative we get somewhere with audio to hear the game. I figured the noise of the game would take away from their finer ambiance. Completely understandable.
I will definitely go back to try some additional dishes. The tables have linen napkins, for that finer touch. Everyone was welcoming and from what I gathered, seemed to be "regulars". At the bar area, you only have a choice of 10-12 seats maximum, but the people made room for us upon entering. I add this detail to show the accommodating energy. That's a huge plus for me. I don't like snooty places. I would classify this establishment as slightly upscale with a comfortable vibe. In other words, jeans and shorts are fine, but your check will not reflect jeans and shorts. I hope that makes sense. The small Risotto and 4 glasses of wine was $73.86 before tip. For the service, quality and atmosphere, it was worth it.
Thanks to the staff for welcoming us newcomers! We will return and check out that patio in the next few weeks of gorgeous weather we hope to have coming!

We split the bolognese, the poblano soup, and a salad, which was all absolutely delicious. There was a fee to split the entrée and they only sell beer and wine.

I had an event at Bacaro and the team, especially Bill, the owner, was so wonderful through the entire planning process and the day of the event! My guests enjoyed it very much! The pear and pecan salad is amazing, the chicken piccata, and the bolognese so fresh! Try the cheesecake and the chocolate mouse cake, both delicious and the portion is very generous! The place is cozy and a must visit!

Nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The chargrilled octopus was very good but the Atlantic salmon was a little overcooked. They have a large wine selection that they are very knowledgeable about.

Excellent place, one of the things that attracts attention is that the wine is served in the appropriate glass, (it is very common in the USA for a red wine to be served in a glass of water or white wine) the food is excellent Just like the service, the atmosphere is pleasant and they have a very good wine list, good prices, I recommend it and I will definitely visit it again many times!

We have been to Bacaro (family owned business) a number of times. Selective menu which indicates quality of food. Waiters are attentive and service is fluid. The food is delicious, taste of home. The wine selection has been made by a connoisseur! One of our favorite restaurant in the area.

Stopped in for a wine night cap. Left after a bottle and making multiple new friends. Next time we'll plant to eat.

Food was delicious.
Restaurant is clean but has a traditional feel. Vintage chandeliers, old-style tables and chairs. Honestly not the kind of ambiance I prefer. But apart from the look/style that’s not appealing, the food is 9/10. The owner was so polite and recommended a perfect bottle of wine. The service is a 9/10.

One of the best meals we've ever had. Bread, soup, salad, entree, and dessert were all amazing. Only feedback is that there are 2 workers that appear to be related, they could both work on their bedside manner a bit for a restaurant this nice.

This place is a hidden gem. The fact that the owner is working with his staff and serving his customer is what makes the food and service top class. Must visit …

Lasagna with 3 layers of pasta, meat, and cheese. Great portions! I'll have leftover lasagna for 3 days.
