Cancer surgery for my dog Dottie. She's a chihuahua/rat terrier mix. She's on the mend and getting better every day.

Dr. Wood did a good job removing a cracked tooth for my boy, Max. We started antibiotics 5 days before and 5 days after surgery. Max has bounced back like a trouper. He's even eating better (picky, picky eater).

I have mixed feelings about this place. I don’t really like the way some of the staff treats my dog. Last time I was there the guy holding my dog yanked her leash out of nowhere to pull her. I called him out and he simply didn’t care.

The Drs are always polite and kind but you can’t say the same about some staff members.

The women at the reception and on the phone are just out of this world rude. It seems like they are always in a bad mood or unhappy to be there.

Forever grateful to the entire staff for the amazing and dependable care of our Owen. Thank you!

My yorkie Bowzer had his teeth cleaned here. I was so stressed leading up to this appointment, due to putting him under anesthesia. All worried for nothing, because everything went perfect. Thank you Dr. Wood and staff. His teeth are beautiful:)

Once again these guys have been so great. I had an emergency with my Yorkie being overheated and they saw him right away and were so kind and helpful. I love this clinic and it’s staff and would highly recommend the. Thank you Balcones staff and Docs! Linda.

Doc Woods is still our vet after nearly 25 years. All of our dogs have been seen, cared for and loved by the exceptional service as family here.

They have a greeter cat that really helps lift your mood. We had to put down our very old dog and they were extremely considerate, kind, helpful and just made the process so smooth

Poor customer service. Receptionist was rude and impatient on the front end- didn’t care to answer my questions about initial vaccines for my new pup.

They also don’t use email (only fax) and use physical index cards to file records vs digital. Unfortunately, I will be taking my pup somewhere else going forward.

Balcones Animal Hospital is the best. Very experienced, very caring. They understand how much we love our pets.

A receptionist straight up told me that they “have no system”, when it comes to the documentation, & that everything is written. That is not something to take pride in at all. All it takes is one coffee spill, or misplacement, & valuable information is lost. On top of that there is no way to fax over information. In the event of an emergency or a pet with a long medical history, this non-existent system puts the evaluation of your pet in jeopardy.
I wouldn’t choose this vet, not even as a last resort.

I went here randomly when we were trying to get our dog seen on a Saturday for a sore on her leg. They were able to fit us in, and it turned out to be an infected mass that had to be removed. They took good care of her through the surgery, communicated well, and the cost was reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

I called in for some information at Balcones and (K) Crystal was very helpful on the phone. She recommended over the counter medication. And even told me about a brand of food she uses for her own cat with a similar problem. Very very helpful with immediately answering my questions and not just trying to book me for an appointment off the bat like some other vets that I've spoken to in the past.

This is the most incredible place to take your pets if you insist on the best. We have been going to see Dr. Wood since 1984.now, we rely on Dr. Jason Wood. If only people could receive this level of care. Tommy, my little rescue puppy loves Crystal.
