Banfield has a reputation of over vaccinating and/or vaccinating without permission. There are FB groups with multiple instances of this happening and dogs end up with negative reactions including death. If you sign up for their pet care insurance, it auto renews every year and will charge you/send you to collections even if the pet is no longer alive.

My pet had an appointment for booster update at 10: 45 in the morning. Got a call back within 15 min to plan shots needed. Two hours later i went by wondering why the long wait. I was told my dog had yet to be seen and the vet was going to lunch. My dog has sat in a cage, in a strange place this entire time. I was told the vet sees sick dogs first. Hmm my healthy dog is near sick dogs? It's been 3 hours already & still waiting. There are definite scheduling problems that need readjusting!

They have taken great care of my dog since she was a month old, she's ten yr old now and we've had nothing but positive experiences all these years.

I feel like I have given these people multiple chances and I think they are aware of their reputation. First, their receptionists are extremely rude, they don’t know how to answer questions nor direct you to someone who knows how to help. I had this receptionist (Brittany) who instead of answering my concerns with putting my dog under anesthesia seemed annoyed that I didn’t sign the forms stating if anything happened to my dog they are not liable. Completely understand but if my dog is already having breathing problems I have concerns that need to be addressed and I’m not going to just sign some forms and hand you my dog! She was frustrated that I was asking her questions she didn’t know the answers too and I’m asking her if the blood work is under my insurance plan. THE ONE RESPONSE I got was “it’s not an insurance plan it’s a wellness plan! ” under her breath with attitude. I asked for another technician that can help me and the whole time this girl is smirking and rolling her eyes which is making me feel more uncomfortable bc this isn’t about her this is about my dogs safety. I didn’t feel comfortable nor did I feel like she cared for my pet and that’s the last thing you want to feel after knowing your fur baby is going under anesthesia. Of course she wasn’t going to go back and let anyone know of my concerns or that my dog is having breathing problems as it is. Thank god she left and another receptionist came in and was very helpful and understanding.

Another trip my dog was one years old and was having a bit of a skin allergy I wanted to check and make sure that she was okay. The veterinarian seemed fresh out of school and one of the ladies told me that my dog had cancer and it’s not uncommon for puppies. We needed to do a skin scraping, multiple samples, etc. I’m telling her, look I know this is a bug bite and she doesn’t react well to them. I tried to tell her maybe we should just stick to antibiotics before Assuming it’s cancer. Well over $2,000 dollars Down the drain it ended up that my dog did not have cancer she just needed antibiotics for an allergy.

I think the worse feeling is knowing that these receptionist have attitude because who knows how that clinic is being run. They have some good employees and I believe one veterinarian that I kind of trust. The attitude of this place is toxic and my baby looks like she went thru hell. Guys I would suggest taking your pets somewhere else. I think the WELLNESS PLAN not insurance (learned that mistake) is the only reason I have been giving SPM banfield a chance I’m going to try another location.

Receptionist was rude to this older lady; she refused to help an her. It was very unprofessional and I had to help her. All she asked was if she could use the bathroom and for them to help her open it. The lady said she couldn’t do anything or call anyone. I was disappointed on how she talked to her. I ended up going to find someone for the lady because we were at the very back of the store. This could’ve been someone’s grandma or something.

I honestly don’t get some of the reviews complaining about the staff unless some of these other reviewers were actually the ones behaving poorly to begin with. The people at the front desk, the vets, the techs, they’ve always been so friendly. So caring about my dogs. I have 4 dogs who are all advancing in years and am in there regularly, and they’re great every time. I don’t really care for the other Banfields that I’ve been to, but I like this one.

This place is terrible. I joined because I thought it would be more convenient with their multiple locations, but their service is just awful. Every time I call, I am put on hold forever and hung up on several times. The vet and staff ALWAYS messes up my dog's prescriptions and never remembers to fix it the next time. I am immediately finding a new vet office and never recommend this place to anyone else.

The staff here are absolutely horrible. They do not properly answer questions and if you make any comments about the service, they have the manager berate and lecture you. If you call corporate, they send the complaint back to the manager to call you. I had this happen and listened to the manager try to belittle me over the phone until I had to end the conversation. If you must go to a Banfield, go to another location. Beware of the wellness plan as well. It is a trap.

The female vet as well as the male tech, both tatted up, they are hard to miss, are despicable human beings who care nothing for the comfort of your pet. I had been a Banfield customer for years until I saw them butt rape my cat with a thermometer and device to extract a fecal sample. My pet was not sick btw. They did not need to take his temperature. And they were so aggressive with him. The vet tech said to him “you gotta take it”. What kind of sick person says this. My cat has never meowed the way he did when they did that to him. They didn’t even give me the option to just collect a fecal sample for them from his litter box because sticking a large unlubricated device up his butt. They just couldn’t wait to stick things up my cats butt. Disgusting. That’s the last wellness plan I ever buy. I really really hate this place. There was some blood in my babies poop when we come back.
Btw I read other reviews of people’s dogs and cats having died after visit this location. One of my brothers dog and cat also passed under the care of this pathetic excuse for vet care.

I got my puppy a few months ago and she is on one of their wellness plans. Everyone has been so kind and educational throughout the experience of getting a new puppy. The wellness plan pays for itself and you can go in anytime if you're like me and worry about everything haha. All visits are free, you only have to pay for the medication, which is great in all years for pets.

They get one star for the staff being nice up front. The doctors are Incompetent, very young and inexperienced people. My dog hurt his leg and the doctors told me if you don't allow us to do x-rays then we won't do anything else for my pet. I was concerned cause x-rays don't show anything except breaks and fractures. It was $180 for the films and I was concerned for my pet if I didn't allow them to do them. After the x-rays where done of course there was no breaks or fractures and I expressed my concern of the wasted money to Tracy the manager and she just laughed it off. She basically told me "they have to do it to cover their butt". So buyer beware! Southpark Meadows Banfield 0 stars!

First, they just take your pets in the back without you, and tell you they will call you when they're ready.we had two sick cats, and waited 6-7 hours for an update. They did not really confirm an exact diagnosis on one of them either, but both were prescribed antibiotics. We were just told to give the older cat two pills each day-with no instruction or suggestions on how to actually do this (this was my first time-if you've ever pilled a cat, you understand why this is frustrating). YouTube saved us here. Now, I have sent 3 emails to the tech, received one response saying she would give me a call in the afternoon. 6pm rolled around that day and I called in to her but was told, "If she said she will call you, she will call you. " Think I got that call? NOPE, still waiting on any sort of response 3 days later, even sent another email yesterday with no response. LASTLY, the kitten had a collar on when he went in, and it was not returned-convenient since they are in a PetSmart. Don't waste your time on this place

We took our new puppy here for her first check-up. They seemed to be a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great place to use, from our experience. I was a little put off by the pet insurance that they tried to sell us (it did not really pay for anything, and costs per month and year).

Great staff, and wonderful experience getting our puppy her first checkup. Also, the prices were about midrange for meds.

I have been a pet care club member for many years. However, my experience at the Southpark Meadows location has made me reconsider my vet care provider. My dog had a horrible ear infection, so I called to make an appointment. They couldn't see her until 3 days later. I took off of work just to make sure she was treated. When I arrived, I waited in line for a long time. When I was finally called to the counter, I told that they wouldn't treat my dog because I was now checking in 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment. When I explained that I had been there for 15 minutes, they said that they didn't care and that they would only treat her if I dropped her off. I explained that she has anxiety and that I had waited 3 days to have her treated due to their lack of availability, taken off work, was a pet care member, and had been there in the correct time. I was told that it didnt matter. Needless to say, I took my dog and left. Please do yourself a favor and avoid the Southpark Meadows location. Go to the one in Sunset Valley or find a different vet.
