Banfield Pet Hospital reviews
16Dropped off my dog at 8: 45 AM and was told a nurse was going to call. After hours pass I have to call to get an update 4 times. Although my dog was difficult they did not even bother to call me and keep me informed of the situation or even reschedule so we can take a different approach. I was told that there has been “many mishaps all day” and a medical workplace isn’t a place where you just have “many mishaps”. Zero attention to detail and zero communication. You can find a better place.
I came in with an abandoned puppy & was just trying to get a guesstimate on her age to figure out if I needed to buy formula or puppy food. This was a few days after Covid shut down Texas & my vet was only accepting emergency cases. Within a few minutes of talking to the lady at Banfield, she scooped up the pup & took her to the back. I could hear the puppy crying & there was no one to ask what was going on because they were all in the back. Finally, the lady that took the pup came out and said "You're in luck, one of our vet techs will take her! " Wait, what? ! I didn't come in there to leave the puppy with a complete stranger, much less to have you perform any procedure on her without permission. My shock & confusion as to what was happening was met with hostility from the banfield staff. She belittled me while explaining how "rescues worked. " I nearly had to raise my voice just to get the puppy back.
My vet was appalled when I told her what happened, so she squeezed in an appointment later that day. The damage you did to her toe without my permission took over a month to heal and wasn't a cheap treatment. There are ways to go about running a practice. Preforming a procedure without permission, leaving a customer in the dark & then belittling them because things didn't go your way is just BAD buisness.
Awesome employees these guys work with us to get my dog's surgery done just totally awesome people thank you
Dr. Dobson makes this location worth any wait. She treats my two dogs like members of her own family, spending time to give them a few pets while she treats them. She also has kept me informed of how they're doing when it comes to teeth cleaning/procedures. She's so great that if she's not available, I will wait to bring them in when she is.
I do sometimes have to follow up with the front desk when I've dropped off to see if they're ready to be picked up, but knowing how many walk-ins/emergencies they get I don't get too upset and just make it a point to check in if I haven't heard in a while. Plus, the front desk operations and wait times have dramatically improved in the last year or so (out of the seven years I've been going).
It's hard to trust people with your pets, especially having an elderly dog, but I feel confident going to them They even help keep Lucy's Doggy Daycare (the daycare I use) up to date on my dog's information so that she can be boarded there when I'm out of town.
They took great care of my Molly. The doctors and staff are so nice and patient. You can tell they love animals.
If you're looking for animal healthcare on a budget Banfield Pet Hospital is a good option.
Pros: For new puppy owners, they have a Wellness program that covers vaccines, worming, spay/neutering and 10% off prescriptions for a low monthly rate. The first year alone saved me $1,200 in medical costs on vaccines and spaying my puppy.
Cons: They are always overbooked and understaffed, wait times are incredibly long despite having an appointment.
I have been taking my puppy and the doctors are great so is all of the staff. They are so nice and very informative. And the insurance is cheap!
The entire team at this location is very friendly and caring.unlike experiences I've had at the other locations. Dr. Dobson is the best!
A place that seems to good but even with the pet contract during a life threatening issue they won't check your dog out even though it's what your paying 28 dollars a month per dog.
Refused to examine my sick cat that is their contracted regular patient. Even brought cat in to an appointment that was my dog's appointment. Refused to even examine. Received an apology but this type of behavior is not acceptable for professional health providers. Will drop all 4 contracts after the first year.
Most of the nursing staff is okay and the Vets there are good. The practice has only one bad vet that ruins the experience for everyone, Dr Kiran is the worst Vet. He is not good with people or animals and I really doubt that he went to Veterinary school and his advice should be taken with a grain salt. Dr Dobson however is an excellent Doctor and my cat loves her.
The service is always great and you can tell that the staff takes interest in your pet's well-being.
We've had excellent care with our two cats. We only see Dr. Dobson since she's been the most informative, caring veterinarian that we've seen at this location. She referred one of our cats to a specialist who was able to properly care for her feline asthma. Our other cat is extremely difficult to deal with at the vet, and Dr. Dobson takes care to not stress her out more than she needs to be. The rest of the staff has always been kind and helpful.
There are other Banfield locations nearer to us, but we continue to bring our cats here because of the care we receive from Dr. Dobson.
Had an appointment scheduled for 5: 30pm, got there before 5: 40 (around 5: 38) due to heavy traffic and receptionist was taking care of someone so I waited. After about 10 minutes (around 5: 48) she takes care of me and says I need to reschedule my appointment because it was too late for me. But oh I've been there before on time and I've had to wait but that doesn't count. Unfair service
Dr. Martínez is amazing! She is super nice to my dogs and to us. She is willing to spend time with you to go over everything. One of my dogs gets very nervous at the vet but she know how to make her as comfortable as possible.
They took wonderful care of our dog and helped us with her passing. It's hard to say goodbye to your companion of 15 years but they were there to help and they were so compassionate.
