Barbara Barbosa's Boot and Shoe Repair, Georgetown TX

Barbara was kind and professional. The Shoe Dr wanted 175.00 to fix a zipper! Barbara fixed it for free! I’m bringing her all my business moving forward.

I will give her one star because she did a nice job cleaning my son's boots. However, she ruined my Ann Taylor dress heels through egregious errors that reveal a lack of skill and knowledge about the cobbler's profession. Do not use this business.
The upper part of my heel had detached from the sole. This should have been a fairly simple glue job. She convinced me that the sole's had worn thin and needed to be replaced. OK. They are old, maybe so?
Two weeks later I return to find a poorly done job with the soles, nails showing. Even worse, she had polished the shoes with black shoe polish, partially covering the white decorative stitching on the upper part of the shoe. How does that happen? She did not seem to understand why this was a problem. But said she could fix it. I thought it was best to give her a second chance. Totally wrong. Again, this should have been a simple fix. There are products that would remove the polish from the thread.a simple search would tell you that. However, she removed the stitching form one shoe and re-stitched them herself. Terrible. Not only does the style of stitching not match, but her patch up job doesn't even follow a straight line. I rarely write bad reviews for anything, but this is beyond unacceptable. This is not a professional cobbler shop or shoe repair. Do not use Babara's Shoe and Boot Repair.

If I could give her no stars if I could.

I tooky boots in and was up front about not being able to fix them. Okay, but when my wife went to pick them up, she was given someone else's boots.

My boots were nowhere to be found and we were being forced into taking the boots we were originally given back.

This is a very unprofessional, unorganized business.

So yourself a favor, if you are in Georgetown, just drive a little further into RR or Austin.

Update- My wife went and talked to her. She claimed this was not her fault, that my boots were taken by another customer. She kept directing the blame on the customer's dishonesty. Sure the customer was dishonest in taking boots that were in a way better state than his, but I was not dealing with the customer. I was dealing with her. She settled on $150, that's what she thought my Justin ostrich boots were. I know they were used but where am I going to get them replaced with $150? Even used. This is a very sorry human.

Horrible promised a week turned in to a month just showed up to see any progress she couldn't find them she doesn't know what roper boots look like paid the 90 dollars ahead of time mistake no call from her I just showed up she tried to explain she had a problem with my boots soles my not stay on just give me my boots someone else to fix 90 bucks to learn to never stop their again she needs to go on u tube and learn how to repair boots just glad I got out of their with what was left of my boots scuff marks all around the soles needs more experience training on repair horrible just glad she didn't loose them

Barbara was the only shoe repaire shop in Georgetown that would add a 1/2 inch to one heel! She did good work and I was totally pleased and happy to find her.

I appreciate someone who does their job with joy. It's not a work or drudgery, it's a passion.

Ms Barbosa is highly experienced and does great work. She went way out of her way to help me with a shoe issue. I highly recommend her!

Please support this wonderful local business! I brought in my work boots to see if she could help. Unfortunately due to the design she couldn't do everything that I needed, but she gave me a fair price and quantity work for what she could do. They're a cash only business, so please keep that in mind. Don't forget to bring Chewy a treat. He'll love you forever! Thanks again for your help.
