Barney Smith's Toilet Seat Art Museum reviews
16Very unique! My family enjoyed seeing the various toilet seat art. As my husband said, where else are you going to find that? ! The truck yard itself is also a really cool spot to hangout and get some food/drinks.
Totally worth the random find and visit. Great location to make an evening out of it. The museum is located at the Truck Yard which is a really nice bar/food/live music social space at the Colony in Dallas.
Ton of parking on premises
It's a quaint little place for a gathering of a few friends for a beer. Not nearly enough tables and chairs for the space if you're going unplanned with a group, but it is still cool to explore - and if the upstairs bar is open, there's convenient drinks and bathrooms.
Very strange place but you will like it. Saw something new and interesting every few mins. And ended up looking for more. LOL
A bunch of toilet seats decorated with different types of things. Shirts, toys, letters etc. It's free and is different so check it out then go eat at a food truck outside.
If you're in the area, this is a fun, unique experience. Definitely worth a quick stop. Lots to see!
Guess toilet lid art isn't my thing. If it's yours, you'll probably love it. Just went because you have to go through to get to the ladies room upstairs st the truckyard.
Small indoor venue with outdoor access, AV, and adjacent bar with art all over the walls. We went for a private event and enjoyed the toilet seats on the wall for conversation starters.
This is located inside the Truck Yard, and is free to view. You can enjoy your favorite adult beverage from the bar next door while you check one man's artwork made from recycled goods and toilet seats. It's a cool spot to hang out. They even have newspaper articles about Barney Smith.
Terrific Toilet Treasure Trove.
Free entry, hundreds of toilet seats. There are some remarkable artifacts and art, in fact. Pieces of Route 66, the Challenger wreckage, Christ's Tomb, and many other bits and bobs that leave an impression on you, much like a toilet seat might do to the bottom of your thighs.
Barney Smith spent years as a plumbing teacher before devoting himself full-time to making toilet seat art. The collection is home to many pieces of Barney's past, which just happens to include many facets of the traditions of Americana. Toilets devoted to friends, family, fans, foreign nations and every state in the Union can be found underneath the Michaelangelic ceiling fresca.
The Toilet Seat Art Museum acts as the cherry-on-top of the eclectically decorated, American Picker-esque, Truck Yard. Highly recommended for a short visit or an extended stay with drinks.
Great little museum! So much to look at and the museum was immaculate. My family really enjoyed it. My son didn’t have any interest in going initially but when we got there he was totally engaged in all of the art works. Super cool place and love that you can enjoy a beer from the bar downstairs while checking out all the different toilet seat art. We will for sure go again.
It's a great place. For sure an interesting museum that I've never seen before. If you have the opportunity I suggest you go there!
Brought my kids here as a punishment! Ahaha turned out to be so much fun the kids wanted to come back again. Oddly fun would recommend to those whose just bored ️.
This is one unique place with lots of toilet seats. We celebrated my bestie's birthday here and had loads of fun! Truck yard is a unique place to visit.watch out for a fire pit if you're there for winter. It's FCFS?
This place actually smells sorta like the blue water in a Porta potty that's been sitting for a couple days.
Came for the geocache adventure lab and enjoyed this quick attraction. Decently entertaining but at the end of the day its a bunch of toilet seats with mildly entertaining and nostalgic trinkets glued to them. For no cost of admission its a good use of 10 minites of your time.
