Barton Creek Greenbelt reviews
14Hard to believe there’s such a great gem only few minutes drive from city center. Just another reason why Austin is a special place. Great hiking trail, for all ages as well as dogs. Just walk along the river and you’ll enjoy many shades of colors. Saw some people with Crocs and flip flops, which doesn’t make sense. Sneakers is totally fine for dry days, but you would want to wear wet shoes or hiking boots for a better experience. I believe you can also swim at some places but not sure. All in all, awesome place.
Really great hiking trail, fairly easy as well. Walked along the creek which made it very scenic and relaxing. Will definitely be back to explore some more.
I love hiking here! After it rains a lot there's a bunch of places to wade in the water or all out swim around and it's super awesome. There's also so many trails that there's always going to be a new spot to explore and discover. There's also a good range of difficulty so whether you're an avid hiker or it's day one of your new year's resolution, there's a trail for you
Awesome hike great scenery heads up though it's all natural so there are things that can trip you up especially if your busy looking at all the wonderful scenery lol
It was amazing going to Austin i had a awesome time cold water but it was great i will definitely will recommend having an adventure with family and friends
Listen up duumarses. Dogs need to be on leashes. I dgaf if your dog “is friendly”. Mine aren’t. So many dipshitea with dogs off leash here.
Nice easy hike, but there is no water in the riverbed or at the water fall. Lots of broken glass at the parking lot and a warning sign at the entrance about vehicle break-ins. Would say try somewhere else first before heading here.
Nice place if you are prepared to walk and hike. Some parts you have to be careful. It can get a little rocky and hard to step in places.
Really great hiking trails. Relatively easy too. There’s a creek that you walk alongside that’s nice. My dog loved it. I’d walk to Sculpture Falls, it’s really nice to just sit and enjoy the waterfall. Make sure when you walk back to the trail head that you know which way you’re going as it splits between back to the parking lot or under the bridge.
From an outdoors perspective, this is definitely one of the "crown jewels" of Austin. Excellent hiking and biking. When the creek is running above ground, prepare to get your feet wet. In drier times, you can traverse the entire 7.5 miles without a wet crossing. Some of the popular swimming holes and falls can get a little crowded at times (which can be a good or bad thing depending on what kind of day you're trying to have), but there miles of trails in between. Great place for a day in the woods - right here in the city!
Super bumpy, don't recommend to bring really young kids. Otherwise it's amazing and there are some amazing sites to chill out
It is an awesome place to hike. The trail is not hard to walk and there is shade everywhere. Most of the trail is nearby the river which makes it really cool and relaxing. A wonderful place to visit frequently.
Lovely place to explore. Tons of bike trails but many need maintenance. Airman's is closed off now so there is no caving to be done here anymore: (. An old favorite of mine and always worth visiting but it needs to be taken more care of.
Really enjoyed hiking on this trail. The creek was more an arroyo in early September. During the winter and rainy season I can see it more filled. Wasn't to crowded early but trail had lots more people as day went on. No real parking lot near MoPac trailhead.
