Bass Pro Shops/Cabela’s Boating Center reviews
7 I'm a big fan of this store, mostly because they carry everything I'm interested in. The staff is friendly and when I have questions, they've been knowledgeable.
The only downside was when we were shopping for a pontoon. I had a specific layout I wanted to see in person and the salesman was unable to find one in any store. It took days for him to get back to us. In the end, I found what I wanted but from a different manufacturer.
The store itself was great!
But a certain employee would follow me and my family all around and couldnt feel comfortable shopping
Just purchased a sidearm, the guys behind the counter were professional, straightforward and took care of me and the background check in less than 30 minutes.
I would recommend coming to this location for the sightseeing alone, the view from the rear panoramic windows to the lake is amazing, and as any other Cabellas, the places is itself a museum of hunting, and fishing.
They also have a huge aquarium, a very cool laser shooting range for the kids and even a stuffed grizzly.
I paid for the boat before even seeing it because I trusted the big company. However, when I did a walkthrough, I noticed that the engine wouldn't start and pointed out a couple of other issues. I left to get some dinner, so they could fix the problems. I returned on Monday to pick up the boat, and the service guy showed me around the rest of the boat. However, he didn't demonstrate the correct way to put the bimini down, so my boat got scratched, and there was no gas in the brand-new boat. He said he would inform the sales department, but when I emailed her after two weeks, she said she would let the others know. It has now been four weeks, and I still haven't heard anything. I just received the license plate, but I don't have the screw to attach it.
I will visit the store to follow up on this issues and update my review.
It is a bit small for a Bass Pro Shops however they do carry a lot more boating and fishing accessories than other stores. The view of the lake around the store is really nice too. I tend to stop here on my way to Dallas.
Not impressed, high prices and not much service! Can't believe it is still working for them!
