So I am feeling really indifferent here about this review. It has taken me quite a while to attempt to get this resolved. This all started when I was getting further along in my pregnancy and saw my doctor with Baylor Family medicine (they are awesome by the way). I was told to schedule my sleep study with this location back in May, only to be told by someone in appointments that they would not have availability until after September. My response was that is unacceptable, my baby will be born by then. So I went on a hunt to find another location, it was a mess, I found locations that would take my Medicaid but then the doctors would not. So I finally tried St Luke's and they took the Medicaid and of course the doctors do, because I knew that in May right? ! SMH Well there was some confusion about my results and if they were sent to my medicine MD, or the sleep MD. So this has come full circle and here we are, back to me having to see a sleep study MD for the results. I was so frustrated the young lady over the phone gave me a canceled appointment the same week, my appointment is tomorrow. I am very positive and hopeful it will go well. All the doctors and sleep study personnel have been very pleasant with me. But there is definitely a breakdown somewhere in the whole process.

Dr was very nice. Recommended home sleep test. You could see others walking out of the office with a sleep test from the Baylor office. They told me my insurance wasn't good enough and I should go pick it up from Chi St Lukes hospital. The thing is they don't tell you any prices. I mentioned the new January 1st law that requires hospitals to list their prices for services and they said they don't have to comply because they are part of a college and not a hospital. Ended up going to St Lukes and got hit with a $400 bill after my insurance that I wasn't expecting. Ended up not even having sleep apnea, which is a good thing, but had to pay for an expensive test. I asked what the price would have been if I just paid cash up front and they wouldn't tell me. I explained this is an ongoing problem and I may need to have the test again, and even the doctor suggested that since the at home test was negative, I should go to an in person sleep study. But again, they wouldn't tell me the price. I just got a bunch of pillows and am sleeping at an incline. Beware!

The doctor was very friendly and staff. I felt that I was taken care of at the clinic and any questions I had was answered. It did take a few months to get in and I still have heard nothing on my results which is the major downside. I have had no trouble getting in touch with them when I have called. They have treated me with respect each time.

Was told there would be a ridiculously long wait of 5-6 months between sleep test and consultation with staff doctor. Management and staffing resources are subpar.

It took months to even schedule an appointment, which is terrible customer service. Once we finally got in to see the doctor, we were referred to their Baylor st luke's center on S Braeswood to have the sleep study done. It took over a month, multiple calls and repeatedly being put on hold for that clinic to finally verify the insurance and let me know the cost.their price for a sleep study is OVER $9000! Even in-network with a very good insurance plan, it was still a ridiculous out of pocket expense. The typical cost for this type of study in Houston is $1200 cash and I found another clinic that will cost $625 total price with my insurance. The Baylor healthcare system is running a deceitful con game to take your money with unfair pricing and no transparency.

Wrote a review several weeks, afpgo but don’t see it niw. Last February i saw a Neurologist, Dr, Mcglothlin mwhomwas super professional. We both agreed that i needed a sleep study. As a result of having a sick child and husband it wasn’t scheduled until November 2018. The Dr i saw Dr. Philip Ala ite? Not sure of lat name. The PA was taking my history, the doctor came into the room he was super rude, i think the PA was even startled. I have never been a racist person but the doctor was super racist. He needs to be were he came from. He / basiically told me i couldn’t sleep because i took sleep medication. I ask him if he should get of enough of my history to know i had a TIA from not sleeping before i ever took pain medication. He got even ruder and told me he would just schedule without talking to me. I told him he would not. I would never let anyone that rude call himself my doctor.
My friend that i was with stayed behind and spoke with the PA, the doctor was not happy when he saw they talking.
I was struck by lighting which has messed up my sleep, pattern. I thought Baylor would be the place to go. I might see if Dr. McGlothlin is still there, they may not keep nice doctors on. He is the first doctor to tell me my b4ain dies not ptoduce melatonin.: That’s what i want. For someone to tell me how the lightning strivk has effectrd my brain and addrennal gland since i have addison disease.
