I just moved here from Utah and I worked for a dealership out there. My car wouldn’t start so I brought it in. I knew it was probably the starter they confirmed and told me it would be a $1800 bill. George was my service and I let him know that I called my dealership, Ken Garff Chevy, and talked to my service tech. I know the part, part number 19168039 costs $278.64 the wholesale price on it is $250. The labor books for 5.4 hours and my guys would have charged a customer $700. After going through this several times and then giving him the option to go with the ACDELCO PART that’s also warrantied by GM which is a $225 part he could even charge me the $278 for that part. They wouldn’t budge under $374 for that part and wouldn’t go under $1400 for the price.

I went to a dealership because where I’m from you treat people right. And they warranty your product and even though it’s a little more, it’s worth it for the risk. This dealership is what gives car dealership a bad name. George is what is wrong with these dealerships. Just because they appear nice doesn’t mean they care about the customer and only care about filling their pockets. It’s absolutely disgusting and this was a terrible first experience here in Huston. I don’t feel like what I was asking was hard to accomplish, in fact it wasn’t I went down to caliber auto care and they were able to take care of me for the price I wanted. Very pleasant and helped restore my faith in the business.

Here’s a pro tip for all you looking for somewhere to go, JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE SEEMS NICE AND SAYS THINGS LIKE “IM JUST A PEON ITS THE DEALERSHIP ITS MY MANAGERS ITS GM. ” DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE TO ACCEPT THEIR SERVICE! Do research and make sure that they aren’t taking advantage of you like George and Beck&Masten Buick do. If you can buy it for the sales price that’s what they should be selling it for.

I’d recommend taking your chance literally anywhere else.

Not good doing business with them.took my pre approval letter and they disregarded it and tried a lot of haggling.not my kind of party. I left and got Suv elsewhere no haggle. 45 minutes my deal was done.thank you Westpoint

This dealership employs unethical car salesmen. Mark Croom is a disreputable in his personal life and caused thousands of dollars of damage to my new vehicle and refuses to take responsibility for the damage. If Mark conducts his personal life in this manner there is no doubt his business dealings are unscrupulous and dishonorable.

I saw a truck advertised with "Beck & Masten" price after various discounts. Called and talked to a salesman - explained that I was driving all the way from Galveston and wanted to make sure those discounts were legitimate. Got up there and the price was $6000 higher? My trade in EXCELLLENT condition. Their site made me a cash offer range that wasn't even close when I got there. Very bad experience and deceptive advertising. Went to another GMC dealer on I-10 and had a great experience.

Worst dealership in Houston. They promise things and don’t follow through once they have your money. They didn’t perform services or repairs they agreed to in the sale, they didn’t send in title paperwork, so months later when I called, they never even inspected the vehicle to send in the paperwork, so I have to do have it done myself now.

I have never felt more taken advantage of than I did with my recent experience at Beck and Masten. My car was totalled in an accident and I needed to buy a new car quickly. I knew what I wanted and BeckMasten was the only dealer that had it. I called about the specific car I wanted. My exact words were "is the price listed online a firm price for this car? Are there any exclusions? Is there any reason I may not qualify for this deal? " I was told the price was firm and to come in and have a look and even take a car home. So I did. When I was ready to make the purchase, I was informed that I did not qualify for all of the rebates. After haggling with Mark/Tony for 4 hours I finally made a deal on a different car that I did not want and at a price I was not comfortable with. That was my mistake. I should have walked out immeditely when I was told the price of the car was different than previously discussed. They did a good job getting me emotionally attached to the vehicle and they knew my immediate need for a vehicle and took advantage of that. My husband and I returned the next day to bring back the car. They immidiately jumped to action and made deals with my husband that they refused to make with me the previous day. After expressing over and over again that I wanted the car with the sunroof, the STILL only worked a deal with me on the car without one. All they kept saying was "I'm sorry you just don't qualify for all of the rebates. " Let me be clear, I would have never took that car home had I not been lied to in the first place about the price. I would rather drive to a different state to find the exact car I want than return to Beck and Masten. The ONLY reason I rated them a 2 was because of the large selection of vehicles.

We purchased a 2019 Buick Encore from Beck and Masten North. Terry was a great sales consultant. We really appreciate the effort he made to get us the deal we were looking for. We left with a great car at a great price!

UPDATE 2018: We decided to try this dealership one more time after having a horrible experience last year (my review of this experience is below). After reading amazing reviews of Salesman, Marcus Brown, we decided to work with him. We also worked with Finance Manager, Enrique Landaverde. They both provided us with a completely different experience. Marcus was beyond patient, HONEST, and never made us feel pressured. He answered all of our questions from the get go. He was also extremely flexible with our schedule. We had such a great experience, I referred my Father in law to him. Once we got to the finance department, we worked with Enrique. He was a straight shooter. And that is definitely appreciated when making a big purchase such as buying a vehicle. He provided us all the necessary information to help us make the right decisions. I'm glad we decided to try Beck & Masten North again. We'll definitely be back.

2017: We purchased a vehicle yesterday with Beck & Masten North and today I had to contact the the finance manager, Cesar Marin, to clarify a couple of concerns I had about false information he provided. He wasn't available so we were forwarded to finance manager, Shane Lewis. He immediately got defensive and took a disrespectful tone with me. Shane claimed that we could not get credit inquiries from multiple lenders without it dinging our credit score. Which is what Cesar explained while we were completing the finance paper work. He said that this was the reason we shouldn't keep shopping for car loan rates. Come to find out. That is a lie. When shopping for a vehicle, we have a 2 week grace period where we can inquire loan rates to different lenders. Yes, the inquiries will show up on our credit reports, but your credit score will not take a hit for each one. Instead, they are consolidated and treated as one hit to your score. As long as the credit inquires are for auto loans and they fall within a 2 week period, you can search around for as many loan rates as you want. We should have checked this information before making a big purchase. Lesson learned.
As for Sales, we worked with Jackie Davis. I can't count how many times she rolled her eyes at us. Literally. She was not patient with us at all. When it came time to go the finance department, it was already 930 PM. It was late. I was 8 months pregnant and I was exhausted. We asked her if we could come back to complete the paperwork the next day and she was so irritated and clearly agitated with us. I could not believe how disrespectful she was. I understand she wanted to finalize the sale but that is no way to treat your customer. Yesterday evening my Husband and I were discussing possibly buying a truck in the future with this dealership. Now, we're not so sure that will be happening.

The purchasing process was smooth and easy. Good experience. The after math of receiving liscense plates is a nightmare. I’ve been waiting for three months now. The only thing I hear from the dealer is it’s the DPS office. They give me the run around, and every time I ask what is going on, they tell me a different lie. Then I’m transferred to the title clerk who never answers or returns calls. This has killed the good experience I encountered in the sales and service departments. For this one issue, I’ll not purchase another vehicle from this dealer. Just never had to wait this long for plates. I’ve made 2 payments and still no plates. It’s embarrassing.

I came with my dad on last Thursday my dad saw the online sales and we were thinking that we should get the car! But I fell like what ever they but online it’s alll FAKE! And even I was showing the person who works for this company he was acting like he does not even see any online sales! As a company they should know what’s going on with their website I really like the GMC cars but because of this horrible experience I will never ever walk back!

I’m not sure I could be more pleased with the entire service department. From the greeting I received from the guy outside when I pulled up. To my service advisor (who was very professional and had great attention to detail). To the managers and the cashier at the end. All were great and always had a smile on their face. It’s always nice to be a patron at a place where you can tell everyone enjoys their job and enjoy taking care of the customers.
