Belden's Automotive & Tires, San Antonio TX

Had a great experience with Belden’s. I have been meaning to compare them to the nearby Midas and MD Automotive chains. The thing I most appreciate is the speed and availability of service. I made an appointment on Friday for a Saturday morning. Once I brought my car in and described the problem Steve told me the procedure Belden would use to diagnose the problem and call for a repair authorization. This was done quickly and efficiently. Steve called me back and described the issue, fix, and cost. My diagnosis costs were applied to the repair. Like all chains, they identified other issues they notice while conducting the repair. I’m satisfied and will use Belden’s again. Like MD automotive, they send photos of the car when documenting issues. Like Midas, they are easy to schedule and do many types of repairs.

P. S. The manager replied to my review and asked how Belden could have earned a fifth star. Fair question because my review does not mention any negative aspects. There were a couple non-positives, although I did not find them worth mentioning in the comments. They were minor, and might not be applicable to others. So, they are not worth mentioning publicly in my opinion. All my five star ratings were super experiences. My experience at Belsen’s was very positive.

This shop provided me with the best customer service ever! The employees were very helpful and didn’t hustle me, I sincerely recommend this place.

Repairs are expensive.always. However, expensive is relative. The clutch burned up on my wife's Honda Accord. The dealership wanted $3,900 to replace it. At Belden's, we got the clutch and fly wheel, a rear break job (pads and rotors), a transmission service, fuel service, new plugs, and a valve cover gasket for $3,500. The shop is nice, the customer service is fantastic, and they stand by their work - for about twice as long as the dealership. I highly recommend them.

Far and beyond service, everyone here very professional and great attitude. I loved that they took the time and showed me what was the issue I was having with power inverter for my truck. Great experience overall, and I will be requesting my company to continue sending me here for oil changes

Early morning, dropped kids off at school. Went home to get ready for the day and as I stepped out of my truck, the smell of burning coolant hit my nose and a hissing in my ears. It’s a very distinct smell that can’t be mistaken. After a further investigation under the hood of my Ram 1500, I found the area it was coming from. I knew I couldn’t fix this quickly. We’re new to the area and I had seen Belden’s on Culebra a few times. I decided to limp the truck slowly over to Belden’s, monitoring the engine temp gauge closely.

I needed the truck fixed and back before 5pm to run my company later that evening, as I explained to Jay and Steven. Both assured me they could have the job completed and buttoned up by then.

They found a pin hole leak in the thermostat housing and had it fixed ahead of schedule.

These guys were a pleasure to deal with. Professional, trustworthy, knowledgeable, and kind. They even provided me a courtesy shuttle with how busy they were. Really top notch!

5 stars. Feel confident and at ease taking your vehicle here. Amazed that there are mechanic shops like this still around.

We will never be taking our vehicles anywhere else. Here's the story:
At the beginning of October, my husband was in a minor accident that resulted in both drivers side wheels and tires needing replaced, along with a couple of other minor parts.
Immediately following the accident, we used the roadside assistance that came with our car to have it towed to the nearest dealership, as that is what was required of the RSA.
The dealership spent over a week with the car before doing an inspection, and then sent us their estimate. $7,200. This estimate included totally unnecessary things such as an air filter and an A/C recharge, as well as a wheel and tire that were in no way damaged, and did not need replaced.
We asked the dealership to remove those things from their estimate, because we did not want them done. They did, and sent back their new estimate (another week later) - Now $8,200. When we questioned them about this, they just said prices had gone up and there was nothing they could do.
We decided then that we did not want them to work on our car at all, and searched "best mechanic in San Antonio. " Belden's came up. And we are so glad they did.
We gave them a call, and we were greeted by Jay. We coordinated a tow from the dealership to their shop, and Jay had us send him the estimate from the dealer so he could look over it. He stayed late that night (around 45 minutes) and waited for our car to get there so he could make sure it was inside the shop before he left for the night.
Within 2 days, he sent us HIS estimate after looking at the car. Less than half of the dealers original estimate, because the estimate from the dealer was almost entirely bogus. We opted at this point, due to Jay's honestly, communication, and promptness, to have all 4 tires replaced. The car was ready for pickup in a week.
Jay and his team when above and beyond what we could have hoped for, and our vehicle is in great shape, now. He could have easily just done all the work we were originally told was needed, and charged more, but he was committed to making sure we weren't taken advantage of.
We are so appreciative of Jay and the Belden's team. Thank you!

The staff here is better than Chick fil a! I dealt with four people, and the person who answered the phone to the last person who helped me was beyond 5 stars! Every person was so kind and friendly. Offered me honest advice on my tire, and they did my inspection so quickly. The waiting room was very clean and had cold waters ready. I loved how kind and welcoming everyone was with other guests as well. It was a great atmosphere! I will definitely be back for any car needs.

I came into Belden’s today to get my state inspection done. The two young men at the front desk were extremely nice and welcoming. Excellent customer service, will definitely be returning.

Walked in today needing a inspection done for my vehical and was met by David at the door. He greeted me and welcomed me in. I'm use to going some where and having to wait in a long line and sometimes be forgotten about. He told me that I can have a seat and he will have the inspection done in no time. By the time I grabbed a water and sat down he was ready with my inspection. Thank you for the service and hospitality. I will definitely be going back.

Absolutely the best customer service from an automotive shop I've been to. Jay and David were excellent.

Welcoming staff. I called first and explained issue. They told me to come on in. Time frame to completion was right on his estimate. Waiting area is clean and comfortable, but you are right near the service desk so you do hear all the phone convos.

Jay King did a very awesome job had me in and out in no time. Good customer service and definitely will be going back.
