Ladies are wonderful and I have had two babies with them. When I have more I will definitely be back to them they are knowledgeable and just the best if you want a midwife this is the place to go!

I don't wish to go into details, but over 5 years ago I had a traumatic birth much like many of these reviewers have left.being told I wasn't in labor, almost birthing in car, arriving before midwife did, barely making it inside to give birth, and so on. I do not recommend going to this birth center.

I had a wonderful experience with Kathleen and her awesome team. Delivered my 3rd baby with them, my 1st non-medicated delivery and it was a great experience.

I recently delivered my 4th baby at Bella Births after having my first three babies in the hospital as inductions with an epidural. Kathleen and her staff took great care of me, made me feel super comfortable and I was able to have my first unmedicated delivery. I cannot recommend them enough.

I toured with them last year for my last child’s birth and had a positive experience but we ended up choosing another midwife. My wife is pregnant again and we want to explore retaining their services. She has contacted them 3 times in 3 different ways. It’s been over a week and no response! According to these reviews, it looks like we dodged a bullet! On to the next…

The cost is very high for self pay (no insurance). They have a pay in full early option to save a mere $100. Then after the birth was charged close to another $1,000. I was charged $125 for my hour of active labor. How is my time in labor not covered under what I paid? I paid to have a child, labor is an expected part of that. I was sent two pages of a bill and they duplicated 5 charges separately on the pages. The sonograms are all out of pocket and not covered under what you pay.

And in my appointments and one of the midwives would forget what she had told me or talked about in previous appointments. Multiple times I would sit and smile and play along with the convo even though it was a repeat of a previous conversation.

5 years ago, I went to this birth center. In the beginning I had a great experience with both midwives. But once I went into labor, the situation was much different.

I labored from 12pm to 12am before calling them. When I called, I reach Kathleen who told me that I wasn’t in real labor and to go back to bed. I was in excruciating pain but I tried to rest and wait. I couldn’t sit and was experiencing back labor. At 4 am I called back where a very irritated Kathleen told me I would never make it through real labor if I couldn’t get through this part and to go get in the bath and drink a glass of wine and call her back in the morning.

My Doula - who trained Doulas at the Farm in Tennessee - knew something wasn’t right and urged me to go to the hospital. I arrived at the hospital 8cm dilated. When the hospital called Bella Births, they denied that I ever told them I was in labor. My baby was posterior and hitting my spine. I also showed signs of pre-eclampsia. I was severely swollen and spilling proteins.

They then called me and texted multiple times while I was laboring worried about coving their tracks.

I suffered PTSD from my birth, a shake in my own confidence, and postpartum depression.

When I tried to speak with other moms in a postpartum group about my experience, they threaten me and the other mothers who’d had a bad experience with them with legal action if we didn’t stop speaking. I was too afraid then to speak, but I’m not afraid anymore. Five years and two more beautiful children later (the most recent of whom was born at home!), I write this review because I never want another mother to experience the pain I had at the hands of these “midwives”. You might have a beautiful amazing birth with them or they may neglect you completely. Choose you provider wisely.

Not very kind or "mom-focused" (per their site) over the phone.

I called to ask if they would be willing to take me this late in pregnancy (36+4) as my original plans for home birth might need to change due to a newly-developed risk and just wanted to see what my options might be with them. I was put on hold, which of course is understandable in their line of work, but I don't think they realized they hadn't pressed 'hold' and returned to their quite superficial conversation for the next 4 minutes before getting back to me. Once they got back on the line and I began explaining my situation, I was quickly interrupted and written off before I could even get my whole inquiry out. Didn't feel very good since I'm simply trying to look for the best local option for my baby outside of a hospital setting. I'm sure they're great otherwise but this interaction was really unfortunate considering everyone else's positive experiences.

I contacted this place asking if i was too late in my pregnancy to switch over to this place as my due date is within a week. I received an email back from Kathleen that someone would call me the following day. Well the following day came so I decided to call them incase they forgot and the receptionist took a message and said someone would call me back. No one returned my phone call and I even emailed Kathleen again with no response & I saw that she had opened my email. If no one wanted to take me or if I am too late in my pregnancy a courtesy phone call would have been great! It doesn't take much to have good customer service.

I birthed my second baby at Bella Births on Oct 31! I am absolutely obsessed with my birthing experience! I’m so proud of myself and my son! I love sharing our story.:)

I gave birth to a 9lb baby, just 45 minutes after arriving to the clinic. Kathleen delivered our son. The support I received from her during the delivery was amazing. Because it was the middle of the night, we brought our 2 year old with us, hoping my aunt would show up to help. BUT, it was happening so fast. I got to the clinic and I was almost a 9! There was no time to wait for my aunt. Our son was coming and FAST. As soon as the tub was filled I got in. A water birth wasn’t exactly what I had planned but Kathleen knew it was what I needed. ️ Because our baby was coming so fast, the warmth of the water helped me to relax and focus on my breathing. I am so thankful she filled that tub!
My husband was taking care of our 2 year old, trying to keep him calm. I had Kathleen and Debbie (her assistant) by my side, the entire time. They were both so wonderful. The words of encouragement they gave me during labor helped me to remain calm (or somewhat calm). They keep reassuring me I could do it! After about 5 pushes my son was born, at 5: 03 AM. We were home in our own bed just 3 hours later. It was truly the best experience ever. Amazing!?

I had my first son in a hospital and although there weren’t any complications, it was very long and somewhat stressful. (But I won’t get into that)
With everything going on this year, I knew I didn’t want a hospital birth. So, at 23 weeks, we decided to switch from my OB to a midwife. I am so glad I did!
I love my OB (I’ve been seeing her for years) but there is something so special with the relationship we built at Bella Births. I never felt rushed at any of my appointments. All of my questions and concerns were always addressed and taken care of. Everyone in the office is wonderful. If you’re looking for a midwife, I 100% recommend them!?

Had my second baby here in January. So much better than the hospital birth I had with my first baby! We got to take our baby home 4 hours after she was born. Recovery was much easier too. The midwives are impressively knowledgeable and caring. It was an amazing experience, and truly empowering. So thankful I found this place!

After a trumatic birth with our first daughter I made different choices when I found out I was pregnant with our second. I searched high and low for different providers that aligned with what I wanted and I found Bella births. Our second daughter‘s birth along with my prenatal and postpartum care was better than I could’ve ever expected I just wanted a different experience that made me believe in my body and my ability to birth. But I ended up getting so much more I found healing and empowerment. I love and appreciate everyone of them from the front desk/billing to the midwife’s and birth assistant.

Kathleen, Lisa, and their team were fantastic. They truly care about all of our family's needs including an extensive pre-natal care schedule, birth, postpartum, and Well-woman care. Everyone took the time to get to know my husband and I individually before our baby's birth. 10 monthsago Birth is difficult but we felt so at ease going into it and Lisa was amazing every step of the way. I cannot thank them enough for such a magical birth experience. We cannot recommend them enough.
